I think you can If you request them, they are not the full time missionaries though to my knowledge as many Muslim governments will not allow non-Muslim organizations to openly worship.

The Mormon Battalion never saw any military action. By the time they arrived in California the Mexican War was over and they disbanded.

That's not true. Any person practicing polygamy is excommunicated from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church). There are groups that practice polygamy but they are not affiliated with the Mormon Church.

How does that work when the LDS wants everything to do with the world. Thats kind of why there is missionaries all around the world. Not that hard of a concept to grasp really.
