  • En que año fue esto?

  • There's no God, and freedom, like the illusion of God, is an illusion itself. bbbbbbboB

  • i thought he only played the superbowl in 2005?

  • Love Howie rolling his eyes; Terry you're a dope!!!!!!!! Paul, thanks for writing this SUPER song for America after the horrific attacks on our nation 10 years ago, the fact that you're British makes this song even more special to Americans. And America can't thank you, Eric, The Who, David, Elton and all the other British people who performed at "The Concert for New York City" 10 years ago at a time when Americans were still hurting and trying to get back to normal lives. England+U.S.!!!!!!!

  • @scooter36able you're annoying me now

  • Geez,Bradshaw is an idiot!!!!! He must have lost some of his brains with his hair!!!!!! He got the lyrics completely to "A Hard Day's Night" completely reversed: it's "I've been working like a dog", not log and "I should be sleeping like a log" not dog!!!!!!! Paul, "Freedom" is still a GREAT song, even 10 years later!!!!! I watched an encore of "The Concert for New York City" yesterday and what's true 10 years ago was true yesterday and now, PAUL"S PERFORMANCE WAS THE BEST OF ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @scooter36able relax, you'll live longer

  • Geez,Bradshaw is an idiot!!!!! He must have lost some of his brains with his hair!!!!!! • @scooter36able calm down

  • Even though that song isn't his best great interview. PM is the greatest.

  • nice song paul!!! .... freedom!!! by the way..where can i get the mp3 format for this??

  • The begin of the show when Paul running look like the end of Magical Mistery Tour movie :D!!!!

  • This was not half time, it was pre-game.

  • This wasn't at half time, it was pre-game.

  • I remember watching this, thinking, screw the game, would rather watch this for 4 hrs :P

  • big time beatles fan all the way!!!!!!

  • this was in the PRE game show, not the halftime show

    the halftime show was U2

  • Comment removed

  • @BeantownJim so was jesus and he was a jew so you worship a liberal jew

  • @BeantownJim screw you

  • haha i loved the interview!

  • I played the paul mccartney music video as well as the death cab for cutie soul meets body for shadowbane world.

  • Are they doing playback?

  • No no u2 played at super bowl 36 not the beatles.

  • JUJUUUU,TEMAZOOOO...!!!!!

  • Cool

    Cool

  • Paul is the best musician alive and has a wonderful sense of humor- gotta love him!

  • @JJMFB1 excuse a musician for writing a song after that, to show support in music, and comforting people. many artist wrote songs during that time about freedom and being patriotic. and musicians who go on tours dont play the same old music unless theyre washed up, he did play this after the fact at a concert i went too. but a few years after he wrote another album so he tours with that music. i respect his political mind. dont comment on what you do not understand.

  • paul is the man !

  • Play Back =(

  • God doesnt give you freedome..there is a book called the Bibil with all kinds of rules????

  • freedom ..oops

  • Yes, but he gave us the freedom to chose whether to obey them or not.

  • @mararules God does give us freedom through His son Jesus Christ, when he rules our hearts and minds, rules does not matter much, we are no longer in chains by rules and sins.

  • i was there. not memorable.

  • This is one of the best songs Paul McCartney ever wrote he has always had a special place in America. Thank you Paul because this song says everything and after 9/11 we must never forget.

  • here in America Paul and the Beatles OWN America!

  • Don't you remember 9/11? People all over the world were sympathetic to Americans. Plus Paul was pretty much adopted by Americans along with the rest of the Beatles. AND he was in New York during 9/11.

  • "adopted" ? I'd say more accepted.

They don't call him SIR Paul for nothing back in England you know.

He lives there too these days.

  • I remember hearing Paul talk about that on Howard Stern. He was sitting in a plane waiting for take off and they couldn't cause' every plane in America had been grounded. And he could see the WTC from his window seat.

  • Guys if u love free stuff message me up for a lockerz invite where u can earn legit free stuff.

  • Paul you're English what the fuck are you doing!?

  • I am doing the same question

  • He's forgot his roots lol.

  • He was invited; remember?

He sang a song appropriate to the occasion.

  • IF you'll notice, ever since we got past the whole Revolutionary War, America and England have since been strong allies in the fight for freedom! This song isn't just American, it is for everyone!

  • If you want to be technichal that's incorrect.

After the Revolutionary War the relationship was tense, It only read died down until the late 17th century.

    and "fight for freedom" ?

  • This performance was before the game. The interview was at halftime after The U2 performance.

  • The traditional American philosophy teaches that Man, The Individual, is endowed at birth with rights which are unalienable because given by his Creator.

God-given rights are called Natural Rights--those possessed by Man under the Laws of Nature, meaning under the laws of God's creation and therefore by gift of God. Man (government or anyone else) has no power to alienate--to dispose of, by surrender, barter or gift--his God-given rights, according to the American philosophy.

  • i was doing a kind of kids concert last year with other schools in the evening. we had to sing this but in a higher note.

  • Yes this song is so banal. It only portrays the most important concept known to man from our Declaration of independence:

This is my right. A right given by God. To live a free life. To live in freedom.

If anyone tries to take it away he'll have to answer. Cause this is my right.

Those words are beautiful and profound. And especially at this time and then we needed to be reminded of them.

  • Paul loves our country, and we love him!!! USA!!!

  • Great song. Great expression of Pride in America.

    A Proud US Navy Veteran!

I Still think that's the biggest drummer I've ever seen!!!

  • I like Paul and the Beatles...but he's done a lot better than this shite.

  • 'All you ever did was yesterday' - J Lennon

  • Cool!!!! But after the interview it cut to another clip of Paul (I think at the super bowl in 2005), but unfortunately it was the end of the video!! It would have been cool to see round two of terry and paul singing a hard day's night in '05.

  • "freedom is the right to scream theater into a crowded fire" Abbie Hoffman

    anyway great song

  • I really like this song.

  • This was not the half time show it was the pregame show. U2 did the halftime show

  • This was the best super bowl halftime show that they ever had. and pretty cool the Patriots won. =)

  • Awesome song though.

  • Thank you Kanye.

  • great song

  • Certianly it was gracious of Paul to care about America during our moment of sorrow. Also, he has it right "Freedom is A GIFT FROM GOD"

  • oh yeah you're right, especially since we invaded iraq in 2003 and this is from 2002

  • Correct. Prior to the invasion, which has resulted in the deaths of as many as 1,500,000 civilians, the US sponsored an embargo against the Iraqi people. UN estimates are that 600,000 to 850,000 children died as a result of the embargo.

  • Don't worry they will make more ,so they can blow them up,as suicide crazies.

  • paul hats einfach drauf...

wie kann man sooo viele verdammt geile lieder schreiben, ne soo schöne stimme haben und so göttlich aussehen???

ahhh lieb ihn, genial der Mann<3<3

  • Yeah. Göttlich ist das Wort. Wie viele sind wir, die ihn lieben!...

  • chills

  • haha... i kno right!!

  • the ending is so freaking funny! they just randomly start singing A Hard Day's Night... lol! i luv u Paul!

  • beautiful song, love paul!

  • The ideal cheerleader, this guy.

  • This song rocks! I was going to use if for a bill of rights project, but quick time wouldn't work, so I ended up with some different gay song, lol.

    THIS SONG IS AMAZING! =]

  • it's great this song.

    the band is verry awesome.

  • you go paullie i love you

  • awesome camera angle at 3:43 - 3:47

  • Haha, at 6:30:

Bradshaw: "Are you a Collinsworth fan? (pointing at Chris)"

    McCartney: "Huh?"

    Howie (rolling his eye)

    Priceless...

Great perforamnce though... such a great super bowl after 9/11

  • Even though I don't know the guy personally, he is a very likeable and talented entertainer.

  • I remember this just before kickoff back in 2002

  • How does a freaking song by one of the greatest songwriter/singers of all time get turned into a gay political discussion. SHUT UP!

  • paullie

  • have you been there?..or you're just trusting in everything georgie w tells you to believe..probably there a lot of that yes,but also in every country or do you think you are totally free there ,where you can't even try to say the 9/11 was an inside job to justify the invasion to irak ,which destroyed millions of lives.

  • freedom = lets go and kill a lot of people from the other side of the world and take all their natural resources...yeah ,freedom

  • freedom = say what you want to say and believe what you want without fear of death. In many other countries i.e. Islamic countries you cannot leave Islam without being executed. There is no freedom. There is no human rights. Its all about slavery - to their religion. You cannot go out on the street and speak of any other contradicting religion. You will be jailed and killed. hundreds of thousands of people are in jail and sentenced to death as you read this.

Freedom = love. love = freedom.

  • So good !

But the sound is great in his album "Driving Rain" !!

  • The Song In Best!

  • Paul absolutly Rocks... Keep rocking, dude!

    Cheers from Bilbao!

  • that was shit.

  • God Bless America!

  • paul mccartney rocks

  • Fantastic Paul!!!

  • go paullllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • freedom

  • iluminatti national anthem

  • paulllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll i love you man

  • We will fight for the right to live in Freedom!!

  • Dam right :D

  • I was 10 when I first heard this song, and I could never forget it. I cried when I first heard it. I love this song to peices.

  • How many songs does this guy have in him?!!

  • that great lyrics, great interpretation which, in reality paul is a complete artist, not only is a beatle but is a singer, I like many songs .. Adelante, desde Venezuela..! saludos

  • John will be turning in his grave. Pish song too

  • notice how bradshaw fucks up the lyrics... he says workin like a log and sleeping like a dog... the correct lyrics are workin like a dog and sleepin like a log

  • What do you mean? Ron Paul is as American as baseball or apple pie...maybe even more american. He was a candidate that is trying to revive what was a radical and unique tradition from this countries founding: FREEDOM and the constitution.

  • I was referring to Paul Mcartney

  • I think you have forgotten the nature of the song

He's not singing about how he's american

    he's singing about 9/11

He obviously is supporting the states to keep them together in times of Need

  • the nature of this song is how to make a one line chorus last for 7 minutes.

  • Paul McCartney is the best

  • este si es un genio auntentico no como los babosos de u2

  • Love Howie Long's reaction at about 630, when McCartney doesn't know who Collinsworth is... watch for the ole' raised eye brow.... classic

  • go suck your own ass

  • Love Paul ..the greatest

  • One of the greatest songs ever written. I think about Ron Paul when I hear it, and his revolution to win back Liberty in our country.

  • i'm a huge ron paul guy as well but keep that off of a video of paul mccartney. youre hurting more than helping.

  • I'm not promoting the candidate, I'm sharing what I think when I hear this video. Back off buddy.

  • Ron Paul for a better America he isnt stupid like McCain or Obama =] too bad Americans are stupid and dont see that.

  • You cant be that clever look it took you 4 attempts to say one sentence.Your spellings apalling as well.

  • YOUR FUCKING FACE IS APALLING

  • lol

  • hahahaha wow he has a good point

but that was also a good comeback

  • i cant believe you called americans stupid this is you homeland and you have the nerve to call the people stupid you jus need to go on to iraq and get yur head blown off cuz you are the only stupid american as far as i can tell

  • What a perfect song! Too bad that its tightly connected to USA. Land of the free, you can do anything what is said to be free. :)

  • its a great sentiment, he saw the towers go down from a window. we may have freedom, but some dont, and thats what the song is about, we all have the birthright to have freedom, and damn it fight for it!

  • WE HAVE FREEDOM DUMB SHIT!

  • Nationalism makes my stomach churn

  • Plus this song is shit, its so banal, and just so badly written, he just keeps saying 'Freedom' in a number of vocal ranges then sings that old cliched lyric "I will fight for the right"

a very very bad song, if only he could revert back too his Wings or Flaming Pie periods!

  • the best voice!!

  • Look James Paul McCartney is dead! This TWAT is a replacement, a Neo-con tool...

  • I know! they did pretty well getting a replacement who looks the same, sounds the same, is left handed, and has the same mannerisms and quirks

  • I think this song is on a level with his classic stuff.... done under pressure too, nice accomplishment... I just wish that John could have been around to add some lyrics...

  • Love you Paul. UR AWESOME

  • Love you, Paul, my musical colleague! FREEDOM! - pennymusicMAma

  • Your such a dick....he isn't your musical colleague, he may be an inspiration, butit doesn mean you know him, because he doesnt know you! fucking warped twat!

  • To: jimmys2007abc- Your Profanity is not worthy of a reply&I know Paul McCartney would agree. He is a gentleman.StudyEnglish,19yr.youngBrit.Iam57yr.Professional Musician close to Paul's age,-Mycomment "Musical Colleague" was used in senseofcommonality.Definition in Webster's New World Dictionary:"Fellow Worker In The SameProfession" YOU do Not know me, a Lady, &I have several 'Musical colleagues & Friends.-pennymusicMAma

  • Well if i'd realised your age i wouldnt have sworn....i'm not accustomed too swearing at people nearing 60....sorry for that, he's hardly a gentlemen, he was the source of John Lennon's pain, he was a selfish idiot during the end of the beatles days when brian epstein died he took over and John said "we were sick of being sidemen for paul".....lets just say im not a PM fan!

  • U SUCK jimmys2007abc2 Paul Rocks!!

    Hes WAY better than Lennon!!

  • No.....no he's not...

I think maybe you are a little warped and one of these Paul McCartney fuckers that jack off too 'Dance Tonight's' catchy backbeat....or possibly a poster of this un-talented, jaunty, half arsed 'musician' this man call's himself.....'Freedom' a monkey could've written that

  • Wow paul is 65 just turned 65 last sunday or monday and he looks great for his age!!!! Keep Rockin Paul! You rock man!!!

  • I'll figth too, for freedom and democracy and against terrorism and communism at all cost.

  • Absolutely as well as tyranny around the world. Interesting change that these lyrics promote the idea that some things are worth fighting for.

  • Haha

  • I don't think you can overstate just how McCartney helped pull this country together after 9/11. With the concert for New York and performances such as this the man was(and is) downright inspiring.

  • Funny how it was abrit too pick you up 'America'

  • Yes, a brit with American ties (uh remember Linda, his kids?) who happened to be on the tarmac at JFK and saw the towers get hit.

  • Right i don't care anymore, this was ages ago, he was a talented Beatle, as a solo artist (Not so great)....the point i was trying too make that was John was a bigger Beatle and a more Talented Solo artist...

also i hate americans that like the beatles, because us brits are like "Yeah the beatles were cool" americans are like "THE BEATLES I WANT TOO FUCK THEM!"

    its like calm down!

  • You're an idiot. I have been a Beatles fan since 1963. No one that I know ever wanted to "FUCK THEM" as you say. From what I have seen, the brits reacted to them just like everybody else did, especially the women.

You are wrong about John. They were all equally talented. If they weren't, we would not be having this discussion. There would be no you vs us.

You calm down and not stir the waters anymore. Allow those of us who are Beatles and Macca fans enjoy this.

  • I'm and idiot....your american!

You bunch of arrogant, self-important, globalising bastards...

And you say "Allow those of use who are beatles and macca fans enjoy this"

Well i'm a huge Beatles Fan, every album, even those strange past masters albums and the capitol albums.

Its just when i listen too this song, i wonder how the beatles even come about, and i start thinking "Wow, John and George must have been doing all the writing"...this song is quite literally terrible.

  • And you start too think

"Maybe he did die and was replaced by a lookalike-soundalike"

  • You may not like the song Freedom but some do. It represents a time of healing for what happened on 9/11. No, not one of his best songs, not even close but for those of us who had to witness the planes hitting buildings and people jumping to their death instead of waiting to burn to death, this song represents something that helped us start to heal.

  • My dear, I am no nationalist, i hate the UK (would a nationalist say this....no!)

Infact hates a strong word, i more disapprove of our foreign policies, as i do with america, you say that i show lack of compassion, well i say your the idiot for making an assumption about someone you dont even know, now lets get back too Paul McShitney, maybe the song 'Freedom' helped out all you 9/11 people, but would you have survived had it not been for this song....yes you would...silly comment!

  • Yes, I know we would have survived but it would have taken a bit longer to start to heal had it not been for Paul and his friends for the Concert for NYC where this song debuted. This song just represents that. I never EVER said we would not have survived. I said we started to heal. Silly comment back to ya!

  • Well its a sticky situation, of course your allowed your opinion, but im also allowed my opinion and you having a go at me for my opinion is a bit wrong, i called your country and its leaders those things, i didnt call you them, so its not an insult, if you are self-important and are arrogant then you are a bastard, but not knowing you, i cant make that assumption, can we agree too disagree, i dont particularly like this song, you do....

  • I don't care that you don't like this song but when you make assumptions, be prepared to back them up. I don't love this song, it's only okay but we needed some cheering up during a terrible time. And when you generalize a whole country, you are generalizing the people as well as the leaders. I have good English friends living in the States or UK, friends from all over the world. I would never generalize the people for what the gov't does.

  • Also you say you have been a fan since 1963, how old were you 6, i think maybe your telling a porky, i have a 6 year old brother and have had other 6 year old brothers and sisters, and none of them, i mean none of them, have even given music a thought at 6 years old, and now theyre 12 and 17, and they are huge music fans, admit it, you didnt start liking them until later on, maybe you heard mummy listening too them over the radio while doing the washing up, but didnt pay much attention....huh?

  • My dear, you have no idea who you are fighting with. In 1963 I was a bit older than 6. My mom would never sing a Beatles song, didn't like them. I, too have all of the albums and on vinyl and not just the US and the UK.

No matter what you think being a brit gives no one license to insult an American or any other country. It just shows a lack of compassion.

  • i would never insult a country for that would be insulting a piece of rock and earth, and i would never do such a ridiculous thing, i have nothing against you personally, and i apologise for insulting you, although i didnt insult you directly...did i?

cant i merely insult a shit song by PM without being harassed by the obsessive fans!

i love the beatles and some of PM's stuff, even though John and George were my Favourite Beatles and Solo artists...

  • Shall I remind you of what you said? Here it goes "I'm and idiot....your american!

You bunch of arrogant, self-important, globalising bastards" If that is not an insult than what is it? I am not any of those and can throw back being an idiot for making assumptions about someone YOU don't even know. I don't like a lot of my countries policies either and despise my President.

Yes you can say all you want about a song but be prepared to get comments back when people don't agree with you.

  • the greatest song writer of our time continues to blow us away!!

  • Yep, I remember Terry Bradshaw getting the words to "Hard Day's Night" wrong.

  • LONG LIVE FREEDOM !!

  • Freedom - It never gets old!!!

Rock's greatest living song writer, singer, & musician says it all!!

  • I just herd it to its asome

  • first time i've ever heard this. interesting. thanks for posting it ta55555555.

  • cool
