  • 2:23 big boy went overdrive O.o

  • i am going to ruin it for EVRYONE the big boy wins.

  • Heh heh i always say that 1 big boy is better and more powerful than 2 U.P. modern desiels...

song is just perfect for the moment too

  • @Justin5637 An AC6000 have 65000 lbs more starting tractive effort than a big boy even though big boys are far heavier and the AC6000 has 1 prime mover.

  • 3:37 song:long black train by josh turner... I like that song and only if the credits was longer then I would hear the rest of the song

  • jw howdo u add train cars idk how to add mods to my game plz help me

  • Put those on a 3% grade, the steamer will win. I remember when steam was used to rescue the Diesels that stalled out on grades. Horsepower means nothing to the steamers, it's the torque they put out. 1945 to 1952 I used to engineer the old Baldwin Steamers for Santa Fe Railway. Excellent 5 star video.

  • lol cerdits!

  • ITS MIRANDA COSGROVE AND JANETTE MCCURDY RACING THROUGH THE FREIGHT YARD TO SEE WHO GETS TO ICARLY FIRST

  • @bigdewycm ???????

  • big boys will always out pull anything on the rails. they were built to pull heavy loads. thats it. nothing could ever be close to how mighty they were

  • @googooman12 Do some research before you say that an AC6000 has 65,000 lbs more starting tractive effort than a big boy and they only have 1 prime mover they'll out pull a big boy.

  • such a fitting song...

  • diesel EMD DDA40X 6600 horse power, the big boy was big in is time. time of steam engine's, but now is time for a diesel engine's. a es44 ac is more powerfull that the big boy, now imagine a dda40x...

  • @gatoterry isn't true, the es44 ac lose vs the big boy.

  • @gatoterry Not true look it up an ES44 has more starting tractive effort than a big boy. They could out pull it not in speed but if you put them coupler to coupler and had a tug of war the ES44 would out pull it. If the couplers wouldn't snap it could pull it back.

  • @gatoterry i hear from a pretty good source in Cheyenne that the 4000 class could make around 9,700 hp at the draw bar but only after 65 mph. never saw proof. but that's what the word was

  • bet t all I guess

  • what program did you madethis

  • That DDA40X is like a diesel version of the Big Boy. It's long and has 2 sets of 8 driving wheels. But the Big Boy looks way cooler and goes faster! It barely needs helper engines to pull frieght. It can do perfect by itself and be right on time.

  • you misspelled"Credits"! Anyway, great tribute to the UP!Thanks for the great memories of a great line!Brainy at BMSS

  • What's the music you used on this shot?

  • where did u get that

  • is this on TS2006?

  • big boy is the strongest train ever of coarse it would win it can kick a disals ass

  • ako sa da chodit po tom rusni, viete ako to myslim ? ???

  • Thats not fast, I could get my Big Boy to go 600 MPH.

How? Ill tell you. 1: Cab Mode 2: Brake cyl: 0PSI 3: 100% throttle >:3

  • what game is this?

  • OH COME on, you controlled the throttle... you set it so the Big Boy would win. now if you put both at full throttle and let them go, the Big Jack would kick A**!!!!

  • Big Boy would have won by a lot more if it had been up grade!!

  • you know if they could take the fire pit out of the engine and put elsuper ectic heating tubes think of it this way the try had a steam generator it could power its self aslong as it had water.

  • BIG BOY!!!!!!

FOR THE FUCKING WIN!!!!! FOR THE FUCKING WIN!!!!!

  • I love the song!!! (the first one)

  • Comment removed

  • what year is that trainz simulator?

  • i love you dda40x

  • INTENSE

  • do you know how to spell

  • AWESOME!!!!!!1 if only you could get fraps on mac OS.

  • Big Boy is the best!!!!

  • This would be the sort of coordination needed to film a UP/Alco Big Boy on the job; now, if only we could've gotten some footage of the engineer, fireman and front brakeman at work in #4016's cab.... ;-)

  • big boy suck my dick

  • Carlos cool video, my son and I came acrossed it and he loves it. Nice work

    Ms. P

  • i know this is realy late but this is one of my favorit videos with me 2 favorite trains

just so well made i can watch this over and over ;)

  • what game

  • those new tranz an suc big boys NATURAL smoke

  • father and son hehe

  • Big Boy FTW

  • big boy kicked some diesel ass!

  • i hit the books big boy is bigger and has 7 pounds more traction effort then the worlds largest diesel

  • Don't forget, you have to stop every 100 to 200 mile to grease the bearings on the Big Boy or else. Also you have to refill for water.

  • am i the only onle who would pay good money to see this done for real?

  • @hwguy13 No....That makes two of us who'd pay :-)

  • what game is this?

  • @Drp632 It's Trainz Railroad Simulator.

  • go bigboy

  • In real life Big Boy Would of won, but oh well.

  • and i dont if this works for a kinda of train engines but from what i know wheel size counts too a guy told me that this bigger the wheel the more surface it cover and i think steam engine wheels the big boy's wheels in this case are bigger the DD's wheels thus the big boy would go a little faster at the same speed. On trainz 2006 i havent done a speed test on the big boy but i know the DD max speed i got was 89 mph with 25 unloaded cars.

  • @dukes20084 You don't make any sense, at the same speed, the BB wouldn't go faster, IT WOULD GO THE SAME SPEED! Theres a bunch of different gearing and shit that you wouldn't understand with steam engines and diesels. The farther out towards the edge of the drive wheel the crank pin is, the more torque the steam engine will get, but less speed. It's just like rebuilding 350 Jag engine and giving it a deeper stroke, the deeper the stroke, the more acceleration and torque you get, but less speed.

  • @CowsXonXcrack i made a few mistakes when i typed that srry but you are right wat i was trying to say the BB would still be going the same speed but would be covering more surface area then the DD... Right?

  • @dukes20084 You got it.

  • what website is the trains on

  • Saw Big Boy 4017 at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, WI yesterday. You just can't appreciate how enormous they are until you're standing next to one.

  • As a Scottish railfan who fell in love with the Up big boy in Scranton PA I thought your video was cool.

  • what a waste of 4 minutes of my life....

  • Steam would have won anyways.... The diesel might have got a head start... but diesels are governed... Steam is not (to an extent)

  • lol...that song from the movies..lol...nice video also

  • And that's why steam is King.

  • what game is this?

  • It would be awesome to have both in the same consist! (The Big Boy in the front of course)

  • I heard there are only a few more Big Boys in Existance?

  • ok that was realy good xcept at the end, when it ended

  • where can u buy the simulator at with the big boy?

  • @TheStormchaser09 YEAH double headed with 4472 up AIS gill-that would make a

    interesting fantasy on train-sim!

  • steam may be an envirnmental disaster less efficent and a death trap but it's beautiful and always more attractive

  • @knules2 Steam is only an environmental disaster if you burn the right fuel. If you were to fill that tender with pellets of dried algae or a natural oil and it'd be running carbon-neutral. They shouldn't be particularly dangerous either i you were to make a new one with a sealed-off, air-conditioned cab with computer controls to deal with the fire, instead of some dude with a shovel. The real problem with steam is that they have to stop a lot for water, which takes time and money.

  • @JETZcorp actually later steam engine often didn't have to stop because they had put trays to catch rain water and the engines would have a scoop to pick it up as it went

  • @JETZcorp and with all that computer technology it takes away from nostalgia

  • @knules2 If you're looking for nostalgia, then I suppose you should keep them coal-burning and spewing smoke and all that. But unfortunately, that's already over with because in the steam giants running today, such as 844 and 3985, they have already been converted to oil-burning, so the nostalgia of shoveling coal is already replaced by a valve and a pump or something.

I'm talking about what you'd do if you set out to make a brand new steamer fort he 21st Century, model year 2011.

  • @knules2 my ass a environmental disaster its steam thats why they call it a steam engine wow!

  • @TheMichael96590 ya, its only boiled water, nothing more than what comes out of your kettle.

but will always be easy on the eyes

  • @TheMichael96590 have u never heard the stories of how NY was coovered in ash and sutt because of the railways... i rest my case

  • @knules2 true to that true to that i always enjoyed the ride on a steam train

  • Diesels have superior low-end tractive effort over steam but once you get a Big Boy moving, it's going to hand out ass whuppins hand over fist.

  • @deloreanman14 A Big Boy would beat a diesel any day.

  • @Fireheart528 Not an AC6000 do the math it has 65,000 lbs more starting Tractive effort.

  • @bradstrains Yeah, I know. That comment is 8 months old, I learned more in that time about trains than I could put in this comment.

  • @Fireheart528 Were you saying its more powerful in HP? That statement is true. But in ability to pull a very heavy train an AC6000,AC4400,Dash 9, SD70ACe/M-2, or SD90/43/80MAC is better for the job. I still love steam engines though. If they can start the train they can pull it to higher speed than a diesel.

  • @bradstrains Yeah, all they need is a bit of a push. How did he get the camera to do that, though? I have Fraps and have only uploaded one 30 second segment of of Trainz. Pure speed and a Gresly A3 would smoke the DDA40X most likely.

  • @deloreanman14 The Gresley BR A3 Pacific does that too-its beaten three diesels so far. I know bc i raced it against them. I'll upload one when i can.

  • @deloreanman14

HELL YEA! I'm thinkin' around the same line!

  • woot big boy rules

  • lol woohoo go big boy it only figures that a steam engine is faste and stronger then a mere diesel XD

  • go dd40!

  • dd wasnt built for speed it was built for replacing the big boy purpose of getting trains over sherman hill and cajone pass because it had more power and torque it only reached its max speed on excursions and possibly high speed freights

  • the diesel is faster but the steam are stronger xD:)

  • i lawled at the music.

  • yeah but the dd has more torque and more power to back it up

  • Awesome vid!

  • A union Pacific Challenger Could be the DDAX40X

  • woot the big boy is going to win or not?

  • yay! but it was obvious

  • the trains were made for power not speed

  • Question... Did you have the Big Boy "win" this simulated race based on empirical evidence about the capabilities of the two locomotives or did you just feel that the Big Boy was the better locomotive??? In the tale of the tape, both locos had a half-million pounds at the wheels but the Big Boy was 1.2 million overall... The Centennial was rated at 6600 horsepower while the Big Boy was conservatively rated at 6920 drawbar horsepower. The BB topped out at 80 MPH while the DD was geared for 70.

  • I'm pro diesel but no way diesel can beat steam.

  • eye of the tiger would be good music for this

  • I agreed you

  • could u send me the music for this vid by the way great vid 5*****

  • If anyone is interested in seeing the real Big Boy #4006, and the Centennial DDA40X, they're at the Museum of Transportation, in St. Louis. Worth the trip.

  • can you have any train rode name you want

  • whats the name of this game. please respond

  • trainz 2006. i have trainz 2009

  • trainz 2006!

  • 4884's better looking, but no way in hell steam'll beat diesel like that in RL.

  • BULLCRAP, steam is the MOST powerfull. It's a freakin expanding gas.

  • Vai te cata babaca

  • is this MSTS?

  • It's Auran's Trainz (YES, IT SPELLED WITH A Z!) I do not what version.

  • How did you switch from the conductor's seat to the engineer's seat?

  • Thanks!

  • @BigBoyCarlos hey wonderfull job i love trains and the USA

  • @BigBoyCarlos Absolutely anything is possible with CG.

  • @norfolkdash9 I dunno, I kinda like the looks of the Big Jack (DDA40X) more

  • the game name?

  • Go Big Boy!!!

  • that would be nice add in the cenntail as well

  • I love how you say GOD Bless America. Awesome 5 stars

  • hey nice work man. what is the title of the first song?

  • Vangelis

    Chariots Of Fire

  • ey thx man ;)

  • @WNxRadeon A bit more specifically, the song in question is known as "Titles" in the movie soundtrack, as it's the opening theme in the movie of the same name (Chariots of Fire, 1981) thus, it's referred to by some as the "Main Theme"

  • i have the game but how do u switch 2 the conducture seat??

  • you can use the ([) or (]) keys

  • k thx

  • If this were real, imagine the noise and growling you'd hear.

  • @operazanotaijin make ur ears bledd

  • @modellerman You got it.

  • What game was this?

  • Auran Trainz

  • what route is that?

  • Very nice vid!! But the centennial DDA40X is the winner

  • it was supposed to be a tie but i pushed s and it was slowing at the ead ween the big boy crossed the finish line you can see the Centennial over take the big boy i wanted to be a tie becuse there bouth union pacific machines

  • @BigBoyCarlos i hate it when that happens i always push S when i didnt mean too it makes me made some time when i am going up a hill anyway.

  • how do you get this thing??

  • Nice vid, but the DDA40X would OWN the Big Boy ;)

  • cool vid!

  • Jesus! What kind of computer do you have? Running the DDA40X and the Big Boy NEXT to eachother, with Fraps. Madness.

  • I know! Even one of those monsters alone lags my computer like it's drunk!

  • Madness, THIS IS TRAINZ!!!!

  • LOL!!!! This is great man!!! 5 stars all the way!!

  • DDa40x definately. Already tried this. DDA40X won in a tug of war with the big boy. It was close though.

    After video: It was rigged.

  • it was supposed to be a tie but i pushed s and it was slowing at the ead ween the big boy crossed the finish line you can see the Centennial over take the big boy i wanted to be a tie becuse there bouth union pacific machines
