  • 02:30 - Magda from ' Lead Balloon ' in English mode.

  • Hahahahahaaaaaa....the soft drink...hahaha....

  • gutrot... brilliant

  • Ian McKellen should do comedy roles... he's actually pretty good... could be the writing, but his execution is amazing.

  • tom hanks,...he played a skinny little bent fella. :)

  • Ian Mckellens part was fucking hilarious, comedic writing perfection.

  • That soda gag!!!

  • Sir Ian is fucking brilliant in this hahahaha

  • This whole clip, almost, is a screen acting and comedy -writting master class!!!! Love it!!!!

  • @CnutRexAnglorum TWAT!

  • 2:00 eyes bulging with imagined bitches

  • @fuckyiuyiu haha, brilliant XD

  • How do you keep a straight face when one of the most revered actors of the genre is saying, "And you would learn the words, you would not have the script on the night; and that goes for everybody! There will be no scripts on the night! You learn the words!"

This one take would have taken me a month to shoot because of laughter.

  • Steve @ 0:18

  • lol. None of those blokes would go to a play (gay or otherwise).

  • steve merchant is such a WEIRDO! but i love his tall dumbass! especially that stupid hair and glasses! i know he's the real comic genius...

  • steve merchant is amazing!

  • Andy "Moron."

    Dave " I AM NOT A MORON!!!"

  • "she's hit rock bottom"

"yes she has" *rub hands in glee haha this show kills me

  • Andy's schoolmate is hot but a total douchebag.

  • The sparkling water scene killed me. Brilliant!

  • Andy Millman is such a homophobic bellend, if he's such a homophobe why take the play on anyway? Looks like a dreadful play anyway tbh.

  • @hammertime237 he'll do anything for fame, that's kind of the point!

  • @brevigz true that, hammertime, your the bellend

  • 'shes hit rock bottom',,, 'yes she has'. hahahahaha

  • haha you can tell even ricky starts laughing when hes got the bottle in his mouth, then covers it up by coughing at the end

  • Sir Ian's part still cracks me up to this day. Just utter class!

  • Sir Ian would actually make a decent acting teacher talking like that....

  • I like how all of the actors are completely batshit crazy in this show XD

  • i killed myself laughing when andy tried to talk to that girl

  • Damon Beesley and Iain Morris are the writters on the Inbetweeners!

  • "Even thought I'm going 'They're not queer, they're not queer' I was still repulsed... because of how good they were" Steve Merchant is the man!

  • Man, McKellen's "idiocy" has to be one of the best celeb parodies on this entire show!!! "You LEARN the words!"

  • the fizzing bottle scene is genius, fucking hell, merchant and gervais are great

  • nobby, bosog, gut-rot

  • ricky and steve watched brokeback mounthan watch /watch?v=yjN5VFTWg6w

  • I like how we learn that Darren thinks Tom Hanks is gay. Nice and subtle humour and a good example of the thin line between fact and fiction that Gervais, like a tightrope, tends to walk in both Extras and The Office. I think by that he has taken comedy to a next level with these two series, almost like Cervantes and his Don Quichote did with literature. (I'm sure Ricky would appreciate that comparison :)

  • I love the way the chicken noises turned into fat toad noises !!! Hilarious,

  • "i got to play a gay with another gay, acting all gay...its so gay"

    funnest thing ever

    at 7.25

  • the girl andy tried 2 chat up was Magda from lead balloon

  • Steve Merchants face when that guy gets the girls number is fantastic!! PLAYER!!

  • "ooh I was sick to the stomach!"

  • Skinny little bent fella!!

  • Acting masterclass there from Sir Ian McKellen. lol

  • damon beesley and iain morris? they are the writers of the inbetweeners are they not? is ricky a friend of theirs?

  • @utdfortreble From wikipedia: "In May 2003 while wrestling with Ricky Gervais in his front room, Iain caused a back injury to Gervais, who consequently mentioned the events leading up to the injury and the pain he was suffering on his XFM Radio show. Gervais's girlfriend was videotaping the incident, but to date no copy of this footage has emerged."

  • omg that fizzing bottle is as good as when delboy fell through the opening in the bar 'play it cool trig'

  • gay, my friend, is all the rage

  • they're not really queer, they're not really queer...i was still repulsed...lol.

  • What's ironic of course is that Andy thinks he understands McKeelan's obvious point about acting but is in fact unable to "act gay" and therefore fails the most basic test of acting, i.e. pretending to be someone else.

  • @belisariusorb Andy knows what acting literally is but he's too shallow to be a true actor (which is why he chooses fame over integrity). That's why he didn't play gay because he was embarrassed to do it in front of the cool guys from school.

  • "Oh my God, she's hit rock bottom"

    "Yes she has!"

    Steven Merchant is my Idol!

  • "What I do is ... I pretend to be the person I'm portraying in the film or play."

    "... yeah"

    "You're confused."

    XD

  • I love the water scene!!! I laughed so hard, like in the scene when Millmans belly popped out at the audition.

  • Lol - "Hi Maggie, i´ve been watching you without you knowing"

  • this part stops at the funniest moment possible

  • LOOOOOL the bottle bit is the best bit of the series LOOOOOL

  • I love that Ian McKellen insists on Andy not calling him "Sir" but then later refers to himself as Sir Ian.

  • i didnt expect that fizzing bottle bit, my god that was too funny

  • "you ARE aware that i'm not actually a wizard?"

  • this guy is an absolute player, respect 'again' ............hahahahahahahah

  • can't stop laughing at stephen merchant's face when steve sherwood gets suzie's number

    "plaayerr" hahaha

  • this is my fave extras episode lol

  • Favorite Quote 4:58

"Sir Ian Sir Ian Sir Ian, Action: WIzard ! You shall not pass !, Cut, Sir Ian Sir Ian Sir Ian"

    hahahahhahaha

  • cant tell if rickys just crackin up and trying to hold it in at 2:36 or if hes acting as if hes coughing. bit of both?

  • Lmao at Merchant's face at 0:19...

  • It's the Darth-Vader breathing after the pop-bottle incident that gets me also :)

  • LOL his voice after the drink fizzes up is sooo funny :D!

  • How do I act so well?

  • lol its so funny when hetero men get scared that theyll be seen as gay

  • Merchant is without doubt the funniest guy alive

  • Where I come from we call it the McKellen Method

  • Ricky Gervais is strangely unsexual...

  • aahhhhhhh hahahahaha that bit where he fizzes the bottle up had me doubled over in stitches for about 3 minutes

  • Seems like the first time Derren's words actually sound convincing to Andy.

  • 'You're confused...' - LMFAO

  • I can't get over how amazingly good this show is

  • "No titles in the worksplace, please"

    ...

"Sir Ian, Sir Ian, Sir Ian"

    LOL!

  • "Andy! Hiyah!"

  • Ian McKellen is brilliant. this one made me laugh so much! Merchant wicked!! brilliant show, love the humour.

  • omg this is hilarious

  • pure genius! "she's hit rock bottom" "yes, she has" , quality.

  • the part where merch goes up to maggie to ask her out is comedy gold. it shows how a message can sound so different just by using different words.

  • Repulsed. Hahahahaha.

  • 2:30 best moment in comedy ever

  • i loved it when he calls him self sir ian.

  • " Thank's for sorting out tickets love ".......high pitched voice " no worries ".

    Priceless X-D

  • even tho ian mckellan is portraying an idiot like Patrick Stewart did it's done in a way which doesn't feel cheap, like it isn't Jay leno going PIE IN THE FACE to make a few cheap laughs lol

  • love Steve's face in the background when that guy pulls a number from that girl, we need more of the Merch on TV

  • you are not wrong guy.

  • 2:31, I almost died.

  • Unbelievable timing, the bottle scene!!!

It just shows Gervais' comical brilliance !!!

  • @NaturalBornHedonist but his lack of presence is what makes his jokes funnier like chris in family guy he rarely gets a joke but the ones he does are the best

  • Extras cannot be so easily compared to Family Guy. Extras is genuine comedy perfection at times. Family Guy as never even got near that point.

  • it will show you are versatile

  • lol at how darren asks out maggie

  • "you used still....sparkling"..the best comedy is the comedy that is on its way but you dont have a clue, not until WHAM! and you laugh so much you watch it again in case you missed something or is it just me, and you laugh louder and harder........funny as fuck

  • 2:22 - 3:00 =D

  • The objective in being a comedic actor, is to put yourself in the most uncomfortable and awkward positions. That's why he rocks. :D

  • when the bottle explodes i was ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLL SO MUCH!!!!!

  • Love Smerch at 7:23!!

  • LOL the amazed look on Steve's face at 0:18

  • Sir Ian gives us a masterclass in acting indeed...

  • Best bit is at 2:12.

  • Awesome show, and excellent quality uploads - thanks so much! :)

  • Honestly, what's your problem!!?

  • luv extras i like how he refers 2 himself as sir ian lol

  • You are aware that I am not a wizard?

  • Suzy is hot, can't blame him !

  • Rofl

  • He's the best

  • playa

    respect

  • The fizzing bottle scene is my all time favourite scene from extras !!!

It should be in the top ten of all time comedy moments next to Brent's dance in The Office !!!

  • I know, god it made me laugh :DDDD

  • @NaturalBornHedonist lol yeah

  • @NaturalBornHedonist What about when Maggie said to Samuel L Jackson "I liked the Matrix" ?

  • OMG the fizzing part when Andy tries to chat up that woman was hilarious! I rarely laugh out loud when I watch shows even when I think they're funny but that bit just had me in stitches. Wow.

  • Lol I have totally done that with a fizzing pop, and it comes out your knows. This had me crying from laughter.

  • Nose obviously lol.

  • when you hear Ian Mckellen throw the pen, perfect silence for his speech..

  • Whose first reaction is it to stuff a fizzing bottle into your mouth like that?! That is awesome!

  • if someone did that in front of me i would have to laugh and give them props! she had no sense of humour :P

  • That's brilliant! Sir Ian Sir Ian Sir Ian - "You shall not pass!"

  • Comment removed

  • I laughed so fucking hard at the bottle thing, I choked, literally, hahaha

  • true dat... hilarious

  • respect man me too!!!!!!!!1111

  • genius

  • Forget the bullshit with the bottle. Andy's incredulity at McKellen's speech is the real humour.

  • Different kinds of humour, both amazing.

  • his speech is pure gold!

  • You got to hand it to the background actors in the interview scene for keeping straight faces.

  • Usually, the outtakes and bits of ricky gevais busting a gut over some inanity are far more amusing than the show itself; but the bottle bit is awesome. oh, and kate winslet giving phone-sex tips while dressed as a nun - "i'm fudding myself senseless and i'm bloody loving it!!!"

  • why dont you fuck off

  • "You are not really John!" this is so fantastic. love it!!!!

  • the bottle bit - that was the first time i've laughed for five minutes straight at a few seconds of youtube.

  • the bottle bit was hilarious!

  • I'm at the point now where I desperately want things to go right for him... :(

  • That was awesome wit de bottle - funniest moment so far ha ha ha!

  • OMG - the scene with the bottle. I spilled my tea over the keyboard.

  • pc bs, white guys dont hit on black chicks, thats a fact

  • I'm a white guy and I hit on a black chick.. She turned me down like I've never been turned down before.

  • get used to it

  • You trying to say Black girls dont like White men?

My current girlfriend is black so I'd say you've missed the point :P

  • lol why would u think that?

  • rubbing hands together............'yes she has'!

  • Ian McKellen's voice is quite hypnotic

  • This is by far my absolute favourite episode. Maggies line about eating soap, the way Darren messes up the chat-up lines with Maggie, and Andy choking on the water... and then the hideous end to a date that seemed to be going so well *lol*

  • I'm not one to exagerrate, but Andy choking on the sparkling water is probably the funniest thing I've ever seen!

  • HAHAHAHAHA i laughed so hard at that

  • hahahah...

  • its worse than i thought, shes hit rock bottom

    yes she has :D :D :D

  • "Nobby, Bossog, Gutrog."

    LOL!
