Recently... I've been struck with an urge to become a lyricist. I've been writing in journals/diaries since about 9 years old. I can write in a journal all day, usually about nothing or whatever is happening at the moment, I take it with me. haha. It was like a Twitter or a internet blog of my time. Usually still is.
But any time I try to write lyrics.... I get the biggest writer's blocks ever!
But I will overcome those, hopefully with this method. haha
Algoods i'm pretty sure the ducks had it coming, they were probably a strange mutant hybrid version of the duck that were killing the local civilians of hushafabfab island.
Thank you for posting this video, I will subscribe and attempt this "Magic Method" - the chords are already with me, I only have to think of a not-so-horrible melody and lyrics.
i keep trying to write a song about a specific someone in my life right now and i cant seem to do it. so can someone maybe help me write a song. ill give you all the info if you message me. please ,thank you ?!!?! or maybe you can give me advise. cause its about a guy. and well ya
I HATE writing lyrics.. however, I have friends that like to hear words when were all toasted and playing so I better learn some.. ahh, a magic method should do just fine.. Their all drunk anyways..
Wow!!! Its SOOOO simple. Here I was, going around thinking that songwriting required both talent and years of practice... turns out, I don't need either--there's a "magic method". Who woulda thunk?!
when you look over something alot over a short space of time they naturally become a part of your subconcious mind. Which means you will probably dream about it. So you dream about the song, hear the song in your dream then you can write it
This inspired me and all :) But.. I think your voice was a bit boring to me, try adding a bit of a bounce to it :) It interests people so much more xxx
I agree. This is a very inspiring tutorial series. I'd also like to hear the song.
After following the initial creative process, I've found it very helpful to set aside a rough song-sketch for a year, "forget about it" and then come back to it. Something in the rediscovery triggers a creative flood that is well worth the wait.
you make it sound so easy oh and by the way im a drummer that has no band so far so i cant do what you said ... "i just started playing on my guitar and it all fitted in" on drums it dont quiet work like that so what shall i do ??? :S
I suggest you start with the piano. If you don't have one, then go out and buy a cheap keyboard (try craigslist or ebay for a used one) and start working around the keyboard till something flows. The piano should be used by every musician not just as an instrument, but as a writing tool as well.
stage one is all well and good but i dont get how you put them together... even i can just sit there writing words down about my holiday, but i dont find it that easy :(
pretty cool, I think I might actually make an effort to try this one... most of these crap- ass video makers can't tell their ass from a hoel in the ground, let alone help ME write a good song.
So pls tell Me how long this takes?

It's funny because this actually does work. This should have way more views. It is actually groundbreaking. People need to realise this.

I was actually more interested in how writing lyrics works in conjunction to chords and such then how to get a theme together.

I base the songs I write on my life.
If something is happening in your life for example: something exciting, tragic, sad, funny, happy
Then think about the event and words or lines of the song start to form in your head.
Grab a bit of paper or whatever and write it down before you forget again.
That is a tip for you guys. Base the song on something that has atualy happened to you then it will have really come from the heart :)

This is someone who is actually making some sense,
breaking it down so we can all understand it ( well except for the fast speaking)
showing us a simple, yet effective way,
and he sounds english, (and englishmen are good entertainers). lol

when you look over something alot over a short space of time they naturally become a part of your subconcious mind. Which means you will probably dream about it. So you dream about the song, hear the song in your dream then you can write it
