hey man, great video, however, i just got my hands on protools 9, and i i just would like to know the easy step by step on which tracks i should create to record my sounds, to opening and setting up and using the metronome, which grid sheet you use, and how to use certain plug ins, that pro tools come with, you should make a video on the step by step process,
This was so simple, clear, effective and in under 5 minutes. You should make an entire series for all th different DAWS...5/5 video for you old school youtubers!
Sweet dude, you made a concise and easy to use video. I took classes on Pro Tools but forgot a lot of what I learned. This is software you have to stay on top of.
@amirdude not even funny man i mean it might be to you but he is here to help with music and you come on here and tell him to diet? not even funny or constructive criticism he just helpin any young kid wantin to produce they own music and you be a dick
@whitewanksta12345 hes stating the fact that no one should be talkin about someones weight, do you even know him??? prolly not so give him respect and props for his knowledge, honestly he just has a big build hes prolly way cooler than sum1 who comes on here talkin shit on him.........
are the sounds on your keyboard or are you using the sounds on pro tools and triggering them through midi? are you usung the drum sounds in pro tools? or a vst?
So many questions....just purchased the mbox 2 and have pro tools 8 loaded on an AMD quad core, 8 gigs of mem, Ederol MA-10 speaker ibanez guitar with a midi GK-2a pickup, Line 6 JAM amp and a GR-30 Midi pedal (midi sounds like piano, drums etc.) My question. What is the next essential equipment to have? Keyboard? MIC, Dont want to break the bank though...I am a guitar player. consequently lesson are non existant in the area.
this is a cool video, but hows come you dont use midi? its much easier to work with than audio from your keyboard...you can record midi and edit it for perfect timing...
@joe0404 Hey hey.....he's a student....give him a moment...he'll figure it out like we all did....no? I was advised for a couple years to go midi.....but not knowing how to make it work made me think I didn't like it....LOL....
Thats pretty good man. I just got pro tools the other day, and just have a midi controller with no sounds built in. You know if I can use the drums in pro tools to create my own drum loops and what not? I'm goin crazy tryin to figure this program out... Appreciate the help man. Good instructional video btw...
@quadj69 midi controllers dont have built in sounds, they send data to pro tools, which a virtual instrument receives...then the virtual instrument plays the sounds. Open up pro tools, command+shift+N to get the new track dialogue, pick a stereo instrument track...insert xPand2 on that instrument track...now if your midi controllers plugged in, you should get some sounds...cycle through the presets for hundreds of sounds...good luck and message me if you need any help
not very in depth with the "how-to" part...but sick beat..bout to cap a mothafucka after hearing that

@8bloc Ehhh, but once you get the hang of it..its amazing... As long as you are using decent virtual instruments on instrument tracks you'll be set!
