Heard this at summer camp, of all places. A long way from "500 Miles," and the normal run of camp songs! One of the counselors had a radio and had the record, and played it for us. later I heard it on Dr. Demento. Now it's here to stay--oh what a relief it is!
I last heard this at Hannibal Hamlin Hall at UMO in well we won't mention how long ago it was. The campus raidio station thought it wud be cool tp play the 33 rpm on 45 rpm, and I recorded it in my dorm room. Is sounded like a mouse with a British accent. One of my fonder memories of evenings at HHH. Thanks for uploading, betty!
Why doesn't this song come up when I am searching for "filk" songs? It's go "Intergalactic" in the title and stuff, and spaceships and planets in the video.
The first time I heard this, I laughed so hard that I almost wizzed my super diaper suit! In a related note, I've never been able to perform this song all the way through without busting up laughing.
I absolutely love Donovan. His gift from a flower to a garden is my favorite album. He is very intelligent and talented to say the least. His upbring, breeding is probably why his music is so colorful and astounding bpth lyrics and musically.
Believe it or not, this track was actually released as a single. It was the B-side of "Maria Magenta." While I doubt it actually got any radio airplay, I'll bet it did wind up in a jukebox or two. I'm sure that after one play, it was immediately removed.
