@Carbarrawr You can't learn much from anime.. the best that could do is get you the Romaji spelling of english subtitles and usually exaggerated phonetics. A good place to start is japanese[.]about[.]com, it at least informs you the order of which you should learn things. At all times you should avoid comparing to English (because they're entirely different language styles.. it's daunting when you compare the sentance strucures) and avoid using romaji when you can memorize hiragana.

Anime won't teach you the writing of japanese but at least lots of words. That's what got me started in japanese was anime then when I started learning it I knew how to say a lot of words although I didn't know the kanji or hiragana

It's not the actual voice actor singing, just a robot that takes the recorded sounds and changes the pitch to match the song. So, the voice is still artificial and not real. It might be a voice actor giving them a base sound for their voice, but in the end it's just computer!

Well yeah sure, but using this technology to make a good tune still requires all the same basic components - a catchy melody, strong lyrics, all the music behind the singer. The only difference is replacing one human tool with one elctronic tool; you can't tell me Miley Cyrus writes any of her own material surely? So although she has a skill (being able to sing in tune) I wouldn't really call it a talent (like songwriting)..

@LittleSparrow2011 I think that's like saying, why try making a vocaloid sound clear in a ballad, since most people have never even heard a well made singing with a vocaloid that sounds clear and realistic without the usual stuffiness. Some like to take the extra step to make the singing realistic, after all >>that's kind of what Yamaha's going with this program>>.

And not everybody know automaticly they're voice synthesizing programs.
