  • At the end was he saying -- I Fk'd her?

  • I'm sorry, but in some of those clip I think I see Darren McGavin...I know he was Goldman in the very first TVM. Am I right?

  • @insdmia OK, I'll make a correction...McGavin was in the first TVM, but Goldman's character wasn't. Regardless, I still think I see McGavin in the clips.

  • I don't remember Oscar Goldman in the original...

  • Lee Majors best known for his role as Heath on The Big Valley, Col. Steve Austin on The Six Million Dollar Man and Colt Sears on The Fall Guy and they all aired on abc

  • @tnawcwvictoria you forgot one Owen Marshall with Arter Hill

  • CLASSIC!

  • wtf? seriously what idiot approved this back then

  • OMG...Thank goodness I missed this when it was on back in the day...The show was pretty good....See Lee Majors now,.....It like the Six Milion Dollar Face lift...For God's sake Hollywood people. Just get old like the rest of us...Its not so bad!!

  • Did he get a bionic penis as well? My husband wants to know.

  • @samsherpa Aww heck, those little blue pills don't cost 6 million though!

  • Holy cow this sucks.

  • Steve Austin was going pretty fast when he hit the gound what a couple hundred miles an hour yeah hes lucky as heck to be alive.

  • W T F It was like some 1950-60 show

  • SMDM.com...Time-Life has the entire series available...

  • Loved The TV Movie Entitled: "THE MOON AND THE DESERT," Which Began The The Weekly Series About A Year Later. The Movie And The Steve Austin Character Was Much More Darker Than The Series.

  • Yo,dead up, I thought this was a gag. I was LMAO :)

I know in the end of one of the TV movies you can hear this song play... but really, I did not know there was another opener. I hope they leave this opener in when the DVD comes out.

  • also echt schnur bin so alleine und gelangweilt will sanft gekrault werden hab auch bilder

  • Cheesey intro. I don't remember it, mabe I made myself forget it.

  • Great Theme!

  • sweet jesus this song is absolutely horrible. like an intro to some soda commercial.

  • Love this song version opening ,brilliant start, to a brilliant series. Lee majors, yeah hes the man.

  • hahahahaha cornball--that stupid song-lol im so glad somebody with smarts got ahold of the creative team

  • ofc the tv intro was better but if this was the movie b4 it then whats the deal now we know how it started.... I think its cool.still

  • Glad they changed the intro....the actual TV Intro was one of the best Intro to TV shows ever!

  • what a turd

  • This intro absolutely sucks compared to the intro to the TV series!

  • I would have got them to rip my other arm of as well...two bionic arms would be better than one

  • Good background info THX1968. I was a religious watcher. I Dream of Jeanie, Colombo, then Six Million Dollar Man, followed by McMillan and Wife Iron-sides. WOW I did spend a bit O time in front of that Majic tube didnt I ..lol

  • OMG, that sucked so bad.

  • The six million dollar man was my favorite action hero during the 70's. The Terminator became my favorite action ANTI hero during the 80's. Aah the corruption of innocent

  • b4 STONE COLD Steve Austin there was COL. Steve Austin. It's funny how the pro wrestler is worth more than the six million dollar man in 2010. The mighty dollar has fallen

  • Wow that was truly horrible! The actual credits they used were beautifully done though.

  • This is a hilarious mess!

  • also look for bionic kungfu

  • Does anyone know when or if Universal is going to release the seasons on dvd in the US?

  • @acesobrian We can't post links here, but it's just been announced that the legal entanglements preventing a DVD release have FINALLY been cleared up!

    Check the TVShowsOnDVD website.

  • OMG!!! That's hilarious....I like the other intro Much better with the music done by Oliver Nelson.

  • This was from a bizarre, and short-lived effort to turn Austin into an American James Bond - Wine, Women and War in particular, which is where the shot of him in the tux came from. By the time the regular series started he became a more blue collar type of guy.

  • out of this world the best 70s show ever and dusty singing what more could you want? x

  • does anybody know what was steve austin's eye zoom caypabillity? was it:

    a. 1:100

    b. 1:40

    c. 1:20

    d. 1:15

  • I would go with "c"...I believe all his replacement parts were 20x

  • 20:1 -- said on air in "Population: Zero," and shown on the opening-credit faux computer graphics."

  • @robertjsawyer Say, Rob, have you made any other references to SMDM in your novels besides Mindscan? That's the only one I can recall.

  • Awesome, indeed ... thanks so much! There'll never be a better "Steve Austin" than Lee.

  • Love this early theme song written by Glen Larson. Lee Majors as Steve Austin was the best choice. As the song says HE'S THE MAN.

  • this intro is horrible its degrades the shows presence

  • I have to agree with you. And I'm glad that it was discarded from the Season 1 DVD release.

  • Anyone remember a show where the main hero had a black side-kick with a metal hand ? What was it called?

Anyway, loved the intro on the series. The Six Million Dollar Man was THE best intro ever ! Such a shame the story lines became so daft - Aliens and Sasquatch - come on!

Steve would also need a bionic back and lungs.

Shame that kids today only know Steve Austin as a muscle-bound wrestler. They should be taught that Le Majors is the REAL Stave Austin. And he's alot stronger.

  • The show you are thinking of is "A Man Called Sloane" starring Robert Conrad as a James Bond Type and actor Ji-tu Kimbuka played the metal handed TORQUE. I thought it was a pretty cool show.

  • Now that's what I thought it was called but I just thought I was getting confused with one of those James Coburn films Our Man Flint.I thought I must have made up that title .I'm glad I never. I remember one episode where there were deadly killer locusts (??) and the black guy had to crush one with his metal hand.I liked his character much better than Sloane's.A metal hand ffs !! How cool is that ?

  • The name of the side-kick was Rork.

  • ... if you have the technology, don't waste it on this tosser - fix Hawking!!!!!! jeez ...

  • @LoveOfCarnage or fix theists

  • @LoveOfCarnage Yeah, but if we did, could he do what Lee Majors could? Lee was THE MAN back then!

  • We have the technology!

  • Maybe it's just me, but i wouldn't let my six million dollar man go in water

  • oh man... i heard of this... but it was before my time :(

  • I used to watch this and manimal all the time allong with the A-team, Knightrider, streethawk and FallGuy

  • Sorry chaps but I really like the song and opening from the TV movie, at the time I even bought the record that was released which featured the song, still have it somewhere.

  • I Agree 100%, Thank GOD they got rid of this music and used the one WE all know and love....

  • I also 100% Agree! This theme sounds like someing out of a daytime soap opera.

  • Oh for the love of...! Thank goodness they changed the intro to the theme we all love!

  • Good god, unbelievable that the late great Dusty Springfield would record a piece of trash like this theme, oof.Thank god, they decided to scrap this and go with the intro we all know & love.

  • this is sooooooo rubbish

  • GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Dear God...

  • They were going for a 007 feel and look

  • Amazing how much better the familiar series into is than this rubbish.

But thank you for posting. Interesting to compare.

  • WTF .. That was so gay. The tv intro was much better.

  • Yeah, not the greatest intro, but this was about 6 months before the brilliant series started.

  • @Graffitti74

    I agree. TOTALLY G.A.Y. lol

  • @Graffitti74 I disagree, it was a shame they didn't continue the theme to the series.

  • @Graffitti74 was betterfor sure, but this was the first intro. very 70's...

  • Oh...My...God!

The opening they came up with in the series is so much better!

This is great to see, I actually remember this! Thanks for the post.

  • Great intro.
