  • It's actually 'Hnobotunn'

  • How did I get here?

  • Loo-boo-TAHN. And not Loo-BOO-tahn. Put the accent on the last syllable.

  • It is pronounced loo-boo-tain!!!!!

    not TON or TIN!

  • "Learn the correct American English pronunciation of the name of French shoe designer" - ummm....why would we want to know the American English pronounciation? We want to know the French pronounciation, because he's French, and that's the right way. Hopefully this is the French way of saying it too.

  • I have to watch all of the pronunciationbook videos (just finished watching all of the pronunciation manuals)

  • google "designer high heels on oprah" and you can hear louboutin himself pronounce it in slow mo at 0:50. it's definitely not -tohn, -tahn, or tahh. as someone else said, it's nasalized, so the N is pronounced but faintly.

  • you cant pronounce the n at the end, it has to e like louubouutahh

  • absolutely wrong!

  • Incorrect.

  • Comment removed

  • @myxmusa19 no, but you can get a dislike for trying to get a top comment!

  • you're saying it all wrong. its more like louboutin.......looou boou ten

  • Loo boo ton. :-)

  • LU-bu-tung?

    FCK IT

    LICKATOUNGE

  • pronunciationmanual's version is correct

  • Louis Vuitton is different from Christian Louboutin. Lol

  • LEW BEW TAH

  • loobooton

  • lube put on.....

  • @CBI616464 yeah, some of us americans are dumb and some are smart, just like in every other country. i think the reason for these comments is just for a laugh...nobody is taking any of this seriously, this channel for one. its quite useless :D

  • @furuzon12 It's not, I like pronouncing foreign names properly,

and it's very hard because in greek, we pronounce words as we write them.

So it's impossible to pronounce french names properly. xD

  • @TheMantobable i grew up in europe, so i dont really have a problem with pronunciations of those words....but im glad someone finds it useful :D

  • A loo for Putin?

  • you know what? I GIVE A FUCKING SHIT HOW YOU PRONOUNCE IT CORRECTLY. in china they'd pronounce it

    shinizishimashashimy

and i don't give a fuck. you all go fuck yourself and i go on trolling, because watching videos of this guy here makes me feel trolly....

  • It's Lou. Boo. Taun.

  • LOUIS VITTON IS TOO EXPENSIVE :p

  • @ThePunya123 It's not LOUIS VUITTON its LOUBOUTIN. Two COMPLETLY different brands.

  • @hannahssecondaccount OH REALLY

  • If I say it right will I get a pair of shoes and a purse?!

Here it goes... for the shoes: lu-bu-tán! and for the purse: lui vuitón .....LOL

    Louboutin = lubután = loo-boo-taan

    Louis Vuitton = loui vuitón = loh.oo.ee voo.ee-tohn

    LOL

  • @sunshine7018c Kind of wrong… But ok.

  • @daphneisthebest no he's right. Its almost exactly how Christian said it on Oprah.

  • @willbscene360 I’m a native speaker in French and trust me, that isn’t the proper way to say it. The name doesn’t end with a “tan”.

  • Just quit youtube idiot, it's not how you pronounce it!

  • What does it even mean?

  • you suck

  • in our country louboutin means ass fucking

  • Actually, in IPA, it's an open ´ E with a ~ over it which is a nasal E. Loo-boo-tEH which in turn implies the final N

  • why are you guys being an ass? its not like ppl would actually care if you pronounced slightly incorrect...

  • I wish someone would do "clique", which most people pronounce "click". A "click" is a small, sudden sound; a "clique" ("cleek") is a group of people.

  • WTF, my computer gets stuck for like a second after every video i watch! -__-

  • These videos are SPOOFS and NOT meant to be taken seriously. God. We realize all these words are pronounced wrong, no need to say the obvious.

  • Lol it's the people like @sarapuco and @omjeremy that this guys makes money off. They wait for him to release videos like the word nerds they are and then give it a view boost.

  • Everyone seriously interested in knowing how to pronounce Louboutin should NOT follow this video.

  • @arc27 Everybody that's actually interested in your opinion would have probably asked you for it.

  • @ParadigmShiftr

I'll admit that the way I wrote out my opinion was obnoxious, but for someone so clearly disgusted by my pompous opinion, don't you think it's a hypocritical to reply with an equally obnoxious comment, which was just a more eloquent version of "nobody asked for your opinion." And no one asked for your input, either. In fact, this isn't a request board.

And call me zealous, but really...what's the point of putting up a how-to video that gets it wrong? Serves no purpose.

  • @arc27 What's the point of uploading anything to the internet? He probably enjoys it and doesn't give a shit whether it's right or wrong. As for my reply, I've decided against attempting to be the bigger man on internet discussions. I play the games by their rules, because I enjoy the reactions out of frustrated trolls who aren't used to tasting their own poison.

But I sincerely appreciate your grammar and spelling in this reply. Possibly the longest, and definitely the most readable I have.

  • @ParadigmShiftr

Sigh. I'm not a troll. But if you want to think that, go ahead.

If you think about it, though, reacting to trolls, and using their tactics, has made you into a troll too.

  • Comment removed

  • @ParadigmShiftr

But I'll give it to you that what I wrote was trollish. ;)

How about we say that even though we're not complete trolls ourselves, we stepped into troll territory. Have a nice day, ParadigmShiftr.

  • its lou-bou-tein is how its pronounced, learn it then speak it

  • Look at the time?? Really?

  • Haahahaha I thought it was "Loo-Button"

  • This guy is teaching the CORRECT pronunciation for AMERICAN ENGLISH.

Of course it isn't how it's pronounced in French, but how he says it is how most Americans say it.

  • @zenqimaster Thank you! I have never heard an American say Lou-Boo-Tin. It's always Loo-Boo-Tan. It's the same argument with Iran. It's not pronounced "I-ran" but rather "Eh-rahn" but that's not how any of the western countries say it.

  • Lu Bu you attack, FROM THE REAR

  • @Accisma Told.

Also, Would any of you expect a French speaker to drop their accent completely when trying to speak English? Probably not, so don't expect a native English speaker to adopt their accent on the odd occasion that they must use one of their words.

However, you'd sound like a douche pretty much sums it up.

  • please search "christian louboutin oprah" in google videos and check 00.52 and listen what the designer said......

  • learn to pronounce things in french

  • "pronounciationbook", or, how to make a shitload of people sound dumb by pronouncing a word incorrectly.

  • Jesus people. The point of this channel is not to accurately pronounce foreign words in their native language. You can go to Wikipedia and click on the little speaker next to the word to hear that. It's to tell you how to pronounce them within the context of American English. If you said "Louboutin" in conversation in the US in a perfect French accent within a sentence that is otherwise in American English, you would sound retarded.

  • @TheAmazingAnarchist1 Exactly.

  • @TheAmazingAnarchist1 you'd sound worldy and educated...not indoctrinated by american culture...expand yourself.

  • @TheAmazingAnarchist1 No you wouldn't, you'd sound perfectly fine. Why on earth would anyone want to learn how to mangle other languages with an American accent?

  • @Kewickviper When I talk to someone from another country and they mispronounce a difficult English word because they're not used to the subtleties of the language, I don't get pretentious and say "learn the American pronunciation or don't say the word at all". I move on because I understand other people from other places have different accents. As long as I know what they were trying to say, it really doesn't matter anyway.

  • @TheAmazingAnarchist1 Bull crap. They pronounced Jesus as "He-sus," like in the original language, not like the common American language.

  • @TheAmazingAnarchist1 not if you were bilingual. Or canadian.

  • @TheAmazingAnarchist1 I know you wrote this comment 6 months ago but doesn't it just make you retarded for trying to speak french in a primarily english country? of course unless you have an english translator

  • @TheAmazingAnarchist1 Isn't sounding retarded pretty close to speaking American English?

  • @jloae lame joke

  • @Eternalux laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadddddddddddddddd

  • @jloae You’re right “ya’ll” looooll! :)

  • @TheAmazingAnarchist1 I say French words in French when I’m speaking English. That’s how you pronounce them; like Louis Vuitton. The English way butchers the word completely.

  • LOBOTOMY???

  • AMERICAN ACCENT! @sarapuco and @omjeremy

Americans are stupid we know, but it's still pronounced that way. Silly French! Not our fault your words are so messed up.

  • LOO-BOO-TUHNG

  • i thought it was lu-weee-ba-ton

  • every single syllable is pronounced wrong.

you pronounce "loo" but it should be more emphasized like "lu" so that it sounds like "lou" - same with "bou".

and it is NOT "ton," it's "teign", like you're about to say "ten" but you stop short before saying the letter n completely.

  • @mutts2004 Yeah, I've always pronounced with the "teign" all the time. As -in in francais is "eign" no? :-/

  • It's LOO BOO TON ... and you don't say literally say "ton"... It's a french thing..

  • Go to my videos to hear the proper way to pronounce Louboutin and the names of Louboutin shoes.

  • his accent really pisses me off >:|

  • This is a good pronunciation...... Its exactly how he said it on Oprah.

  • the "in" part is supposed to be more like your "in" in "lanvin"

  • "Pronunciation Book shows you how to say various words in American English."

When it comes to words such as this there is no "american english" way to say them

you say them as they are meant to be pronounced

get a life and stop trying to become a youtube partner

cause your not gonna get there with videos that take absolutely no skill and are absolutely misleading and wrong

if your gonna do something do it right

  • Comment removed

  • Wrrrrrooonnnggggggg. Just because Jennifer Lopez made a song about them doesn't make it the right pronunciation. I know this because i sell Louboutin's and work with the buyer.

The 'tin' in Louboutin rhymes with the French word for wine which is "vin'. The 'n' is silent as it is in the pronunciation of LANVIN which pronunciationbook does well.

It's not a very good argument to say this is an "American" accent. Would we pronounce Givenchy "gah-vin-chee"?

  • @jenc288 Well now I feel stupid for pronouncing givenchy, Gih Vin chee. I bet all the ladies at the counters think I'm an idiot. (:

  • A FERNCH PERSON PLEASE MESSAGE ME AND TELL ME HOW THE FUCK TO PRONOUNCE THIS RIGHT NOW!! D: PLEASE~<3

  • lubutą?

  • PLEASE SOMEONE MAKE IT STOPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!! MY EEEEEARSSS!!!!!!!!

  • i always thought it was la boo tin and I don't think this is right

  • Is it "Loo-Boo-Tawn" ("Tawn" rhyming with "Lawn")

Or is it "Loo-Boo-Tan" (Tan as in the color Tan, like Jersey Shore)

  • Please, stop trying foreign words. You can't pronounce most of them correctly.

  • @omjeremy wow, rude as hell

  • @omjeremy Yeah, but Louboutin isn't a word. It's a name.

  • @iMstrKrft LMAO! Names are words, darling. Consult a dictionary if you have any questions.

  • @MusicalEutopia You don't use names in normal conversation unless you're mentioning someone. Hi my Louboutin is Brad and Andy awesome. I really enjoy my Mary and Lisa money.

Names are better defined as 'terms' used for identifying someone.

  • @iMstrKrft Terms are also words, dare. You really should find yourself a dictionary, although common sense should have sufficed.

  • @MusicalEutopia Do you know how to read, "dare"? I believe you mean "dear". You're busy correcting me when you're making visible mistakes yourself. If you would've read my comment correctly you would've seen that I said names are better defined as terms used for identifying someone. I didn't contrast 'word' and 'term'. I know terms are also words. I suggest you find some glasses, although correctly reading a comment should have sufficed.

  • @iMstrKrft My grammatical misstep does not nullify the matter at hand nor does it detract from your poor attempt at denying concession. If you were not seeking to contrast 'word' and 'term,' you merely created a red herring argument.

  • @MusicalEutopia Lmfao, what's your argument? Your comment uses words that have nothing to do with what I said. You think you're hot stuff, yeah? Get over yourself. "poor attempt at denying concession". Your grammatical misstep is still apparent whilst trying to lower my comment with yours. You failed in doing so by making a mistake of your own. You merely wasted my time, and yours. If you do not see that I was not seeking to contrast 'word' and 'term', then you're an imbecile. End of.

  • @iMstrKrft Yet another red herring.

  • @MusicalEutopia Yet another idiot I have to block on Youtube.

  • @iMstrKrft And another ad hominem.

  • @omjeremy I think he should stop trying to pronounce any word from any language. He seems to fail at it pretty bad. also wtf is a milk argument?

  • @omjeremy It's a company that's active in America. Americans who speak English as a first language might like to know how to pronounce this name in a way that other Americans will understand him.

So please stop tricking yourself into thinking you're being helpful or witty. You're being an asshat.

  • @omjeremy Keep in mind this isn't how to pronounce it in French. It's how to pronounce it in American English, as it says in the down bar. You can call it wrong or incorrect or whatever, but it seems unreasonable to expect uniform French pronunciation for all Americans.

    ~ Jethro.

  • You're so wrong. In fact, many of your French words on here are wrongly pronounced. Given the high interest in this particular word pronunciation, it should be stated the Louboutin is pronounced Loo-Boo-Teign (fading the n a bit)

  • @Sarapuco

Yeah, also, the "in" at the end is pronounced more like the "an" at the end of the word "can". It's not exactly like "a" as in "father".

  • @Sarapuco stop being a smartass.

  • @amfromlason sure, my pleasure; when you stop being a dumbass.

  • @Sarapuco No his pronounciation is right for an American person.

Of course he's not going to pronounce it with a french accent if he's not french.

And I'm french so don't try to discuss.

  • @shinematt i could care less if you're french. i'm from quebec, and don't try to tell me what to do - don't do that, seriously. there is no such thing as an "american" pronunciation, and that certainly is not the point of this video post, so recalibrate your comprehension and interpretation skills, and move the f*** on. merci

  • @Sarapuco Well you guys from Quebec do have an accent when you speak french, so Louboutin being a french brand, I think my pronounciation is better than yours :).

  • @shinematt You're still as off as a prom dress on prom night. Move on, dude, move on.

  • @Sarapuco Thank you so much. I'm definitely pronouncing it right from now on, haha.

  • @thunderflashradio my pleasure :)

  • @Sarapuco Thank you!

  • @jbowling88 my pleasure :)

  • @Sarapuco shut up idiot. It how to say these works correctly in American English. Not retarded French English.

  • @SuperBlackChic LMAO superblackchic? learn how to write a f*ckin sentence, you Ebonics dumb-ass. Everyone knows "Amercian" English is very poor, much like yourself most probably. But yeah, keep running your cocksucker, see where that gets you. Where I got? Multiple thumbs-up comment. Chao.

  • @Sarapuco This isn't even a logical argument. Instead of commenting on what I said, you attacked my race (black), culture (black), class (poor), sexuality (cocksucker), and nationality (American). Must be proud huh? Popularity doesn't mean it's rights. Read the description. It's not how to say it in a "French" accent, you might as well just learn French. It's how to say it in an American accent. There's no reason to get so defensive about it. You just like to fight.

  • @Sarapuco Uhm, you are actually not correct - if by 'Teign' you mean the pronunciation similar to the word 'Feign', that is not the proper way to pronounce Louboutin. It is Loo-Boo-Taw (the 'n' is essentially silent)

  • @7Famark Yeah, that's why I have multiple thumbs-up on my comment. Dude, I'm French, you're from Laguna Beach (lmao at that, btw). I think you should stick to surfer linguistics and the pronunciation thereof, and let me do my thing when it comes to French, because only one of is in the know, and it's quite clear who. Next thing you'll tell me, the word "matin" (French for "morning") is pronounced matt-taw. Sure ;) Yee-haw, chao.

  • @Sarapuco Multiple thumbs-up from other ignorant people that do not know how to pronounce the name. If you view the episode of Oprah, where a representative from a Christian Louboutin store is a guest, there is a a clip of the man himself pronouncing his own name - and he very distincly says 'Loo-Boo-Tawn' Are you going to argue with the man himself? Type in Christian Louboutin Oprah into google videos and it is around the 52 second mark.

  • @7Famark Yup, me and the French army would stand proud to say it's not pronounced like you say it is. I don't have time to check out the vid - not everyone's as lame as you - but a huge designer will probably go on a show such as Oprah's, which is hardly comparable, and mispronounce his own line, because, hey, it's Oprah, and sometimes dumbing down is lucrative. Porsche, Louis Vuitton, etc, dumb down or mispronounce their own brand names to please whatever market their in, usually, the U.S. :(

  • @Sarapuco The French army? The one that constantly needs the aid of the U.S.A.'s military to win. . . .anything? Oh, and learn to read you illiterate swine, I said that a woman that works with Christian went ON the show, the clip they played of Christian was sent by him, while he was working in his studio - and he literally spelled out exactly how his name is to be pronounced - if you want to argue with him (as you arrogant, filthy French swine like to do) by my guest, but you are wrong.

  • @Sarapuco Oh, and on top of that - there is a website, called the Purse Forum, and the Christian Louboutin sub-forum is highly populated, and there are multiple women that have collections well over 50+ pairs, and they would all agree with me on the pronunciation. In addition, many of them have met Louboutin at store events where he is signing his shoes - oh, and being from Laguna has nothing to do with knowing the pronunciation of a brand, oh - and nobody likes the French, by the way.

  • @7Famark Whoa...a) WHY do you know about a place called the "Purse Forum"? lmao, you need a life; really random. b) Get over it, I don't have time for your paragraphs.

  • @Sarapuco a) Because it is an affiliate of the StyleForum, you twit, and I need a life - you were the one who apparently sought out a pronunciation video in the first place to criticize it (incorrectly). Typical French trash - incapable of forming a coherent argument, so instead they turn to pathetic and frankly, uninsulting name calling to attempt to get the point accross. No wonder no one likes you people.

  • @7Famark ok

  • @Sarapuco UR WRONG

  • @Sarapuco "Learn the correct American English pronunciation of the name of French shoe designer Christian Louboutin." Got that from the More Info. So I don't think he's going for the French way to pronounce it.

  • @Sarapuco Keep in mind this isn't how to pronounce it in French. It's how to pronounce it in American English, as it says in the down bar. You can call it wrong or incorrect or whatever, but it seems unreasonable to expect uniform French pronunciation for all Americans.
