  • I WANT MY MTV back from the turtle heads that ruined it.

  • I love bruce to death, but i gotta admit that paul sounds better at 1st and 2nd albm.

  • I saw them in 1980 when they toured with KISS. What a concert!!!!!

  • this is the first Iron Maiden video I ever saw, I thought then this was so heavy, just the type of metal I liked. This was 20 years ago.

  • Killers is probably Maiden's best overall album imo... and Wrathchild is one of the main reasons. It's like the perfect Hard Rocking song right from the opening/classic Bass line.

  • Great song, but Paul DiAnno was NOT the original Iron Maiden singer. A guy by the name of Paul Day was the first Maiden singer.

  • @onekissfan usually, the "original" singer is considered the one that records the first album.

  • This owns the entire Bruce era..sorry it's true..

  • Awesome.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • still rocks to this day

  • I'M A REPTILE!!!!!! DUNADUNANUNANA I'M A REPTILE!!!!!!!!!! DUNADUNAUNUANAUA I'M COMIN TO EAT YOU!!!!! OOH YEAAAAHHHH

  • i hate blaze bailey, he's the reason i stopped listening to iron maiden for so long. i miss bruce and paul was the shit

  • These two albums the paul did with maiden are timeless.

Now i ask all you metal heads which of the two was the best.

  • These two albums the paul did with maiden are timeless.

  • who in the fuck disliked this?????? you, sirs, are FIRED FROM ROCK!!!! haha

  • best maiden song and album by far..sorry bruce they had it right the first time

  • For my good friend Tammy Harris, Happy B.Day!!! Love ya, xoxoxox

  • THIS IS IT!!!!!! Best Maiden song of all time, and Dianno Rocks!! Just freakin' screaming!!! Love it!!

  • Metallica sucks.

  • I'm a Paul fan! Back in 1981, when I first saw them on MTV, I just thought---here is a guy who, just with his looks alone, could bridge the gap with the punks and metal guys. I mean, here's a guy who looks like Adam Ant--and he's singing Metal! How ORIGINAL! When Bruce Dickinsen replaced him, they just became 'another' metal band to me!

  • @notfragile33 Just Another metal band with Bruce?? Huh! Yea,Just another metal band.Still going strong for 30 years since. You have to love the stuff people say on youtube.Dope

  • the drums at 1:25 are killer

  • Awesome... gotta love classic Maiden. For me, anything from Powerslave and before are masterpieces. Please check out my cover version of this on guitar. :)

  • I love Dickenson but Dianno just does a better job with this song. Plain and simple.

  • Paul Dianno wasn't the original singer for maiden he just sang on the first 2 albums the original singer was a guy named paul day the first stable one was Dennis wilcock of smiler steve harris's first band

  • @ jakkurt i saw them open for UFO at the long beach arena in california. KILLERS TOUR!!!!!!

  • wwoow nice vid 1 of th3 best song ever

  • @AoAiiKLuTcH Well ... it's like with Black Sabbath. Dio can sing rings around Ozzy, or just about anybody.

But there are some things where Ozzy's "feel", the way his emotion comes through, that just work better with the old Sabbath tunes.

    Love 'em both.

  • @iolanthela That's a good comparison...never really thought about it that way. Kinda the same thing with David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. I've always been more about the feeling than how good they actually are though...always loved old Sabbath better, always loved old Maiden better, always loved old VH better...I'm all about the soul

  • I'm more familiar with Bruce, since I came to Maiden Fanhood pretty late.

But this guy's doing great, too, and I have several friends who prefer his style.

There's room for a lot of different approaches to this material.

  • @killjoy353 Yeah Megadeth is good. Never cared much for Kreator. Cetic Frost and Exodus are good thrash bands too

  • @TheHolyOutlaw shut the hell up.

  • This is my favorite Iron Maiden song with Paul Dianno on vocals! UP THE IRONS!

  • purity.....

  • Diano!

  • @shadow in the 80's Metallica WAS a great thrash band. But the best thrsh band ever would have to be SLAYER!!!!

  • @erikwd6878, The best Thrash band is either Overkill or Testament! Slayer is not that great.

  • @Fakadeband Kreator or Megadeth has my vote.

  • awesome performance! Diano the killer!

  • Saw this tour with UFO and Maiden blew them off the stage..and I love UFO!

  • @Trebla1158 Not to mention metallica rid their style of thrash years ago.

  • @Trebla1158 its okay my parent banned me from listening to iron maiden and metallica so no worrys

  • @shadowspys Listen to Cannibal Corpse and Slayer and see what they say then.

  • in the begining all i hear is stormbringer-deep purple

  • paul and bruce both kicked ass!

each of them brough their own unique styles and it worked with the band

  • Paolo is the best singer of Iron Maiden... FOREVER!!!

  • Dickinson is an amazing singer, but Dianno sings this song better.

  • As far as I'm concerened ( not that it matters ) but I think Bruce Dickinson totaly destroyed how good Iron Maiden could have been

  • Bullshit Bruce made what Iron Miaden is today.

  • @bdoginit01 Hey bro I could careless i've been a metal head my whole life and I remeber when Iron Maiden first came out, I didn't like them then and I still don't like them now and it's because of the way Bruce Dickinson sings I just can't stand that high pitch metal style singing

  • @bdoginit01 I agree with you.

  • @ziggy471961 Finally someone got my back lol

  • Di'anno was good for those 2 albumns but sorry i must say, Bruce was better

  • Fucking brilliant! Love the punkish vocals of Di'anno.

  • You must learn to love the whole band, Grasshopper, not just the individual members. Only then will you be a true Maiden disciple. Up The F'n Irons!!

  • Once Again can you fags stop with who is better? Enjoy the damn music instead of comparing dicks.

  • i wonder who the eight chuckleheads are who pressed the dislike button?

  • I love Bruce, but I'm sorry, Maiden with Paul FUCKING ROCKED!!!!

  • @BoEmery u damn right

  • @BoEmery FUCK YEAH!!!

  • @BoEmery i agree. i think Bruce has the better voice, but Paul's style and image and additude gave them a very punk-like sound that had a cool mix with metal.

  • Adrian looks about twelve :3

  • I wonder how Dianno would sound singing on the number of the beast album...that wld be sick. but personally..i think dickinson is the better singer. Bruce is better overall..he jumps all over the f#*kin place, he has more energy and has a higher/ louder vocal range. but BOTH r great.

  • Uploaded by EMI music huh? Is that why the audio sounds like it comes from a laundromat?

  • dianno is fuccn raw...ive only recently began to listen to heavy metal, starting with Black Sabbath's and Iron Maiden's first 2 albums. I've never heard Dickinson but just in listening to Killers, i dont know how they could get any better without dianno

  • @bdogg38128 As a Dickinson era fan, I'll answer that for you. It doesn't get better than Dianno. But check out the X factor album with Blaze which is their 3rd best album imo.

  • @StartabandDuran I am glad i am not the only one who thinks this.....but virtualXI was poo i thought. I liked how the songs were much darker on The X factor. Blood on the worlds hands is an amazing song.

  • No scream, a representation of Di'Anno. I think he sounds fantastic here, and I always loved what he did with Maiden, but I don't think he had the confidence to try and belt out the scream after the solo, unlike Bruce.

  • @shoeme123 i hope that was a joke, killers and number of the beast come on

  • were they about to play run to the hills WITH PAUL?!

  • almost reminds me of lemmy a little

  • Merci Paul

You've inspired me. Still a blast to hear you, what a singer and performer ! Yeeaahh!

    Cheers!

    Perron

  • Don't give a damn if you call it punk or metal, this lineup was the best!

  • @jamesc1966 absolutely it was

  • Awesome!

  • oh come on,dianno sounds more punk than metal,no offense to the guy,but he should be in a punk band not metal...

  • When I first heard this album it stuck like crazy glue to my metal brain.

  • fucking raw and brilliant

  • Whatever most of you might think, I think it's fantastic !

  • Goddamn he was hot at that age. :D

  • Saw them at the Swing in San Bernadino in '81. All these years later and I still love heavy metal. (The real shit, not the poser hair bands of the 80's. What a nightmare that was. )

  • HELL YEAH!!!!!

  • @WrathchildNH.. amen!!! I was listening to the Killers album these past 5 days and I still believe that this was, is and will always be one of the best metal line-ups ever. At the time in the 80's, we didn't know if the I.M lads were metal or punk; however, one thing we did know for sure was that man can these bastards play and man could this motherfucker DiAnno sing!!! Up The Irons to WrathchildNH!!! Up The Irons!!!

  • I remember attending the Killers Show in L.A. when Iron Maiden opened for UFO in the 1980's. Although most the audience was there for UFO, the I.M. boys sounded so great that many thought they stole the show... me too!!! I'm now 48 years of age, but it's always great to see the boys in their glory days. Ahh, so many memories of spikes, leather and metal... Up the irons to tankjordan for posting this awesome video... Does anyone still headbang??? Peace my fellow metalheads!!!

  • @marquitos2875 I saw them at the Orpheum in Boston 81......seen them 25 times since.....have tiks for montreal 7/7......might catch the NYC show too.......46 now, someday I will be cremated wearing an Iron Maiden shirt.....the one from the "give me ED til I'm dead" tour....rock on

  • saw him yesterday in dallas amazing show, he still got it !!!!

  • yeah, this is when Iron Maiden first came into the publics awareness, with Paul Dianno on vocals it was kind of like hard core punk meets metal-very raw and cool.

Nothing against Bruce Dickenson its just that his vocals are typical for the 80's whereas Dianno's vocals were untamed and wild.

  • Paul was AMAZING then. Not so much now.

  • Paul is awesome!! T

  • DiAnno and Maiden were well suited. I love all Maiden stuff, but Paul was the IRON. Bruce makes them UPVC Maiden. Flexible. Everywhere. White and (eek) boring

  • I agree. Paul always had more "iron" in his vocals than Bruce. No offence to Bruce by the way, cause he's awesome too.

  • fantastic classic song better in live

  • Comment removed

  • Genial el vide, me encanta esta cancion, muchas gracias por compartir, saludos.

  • I think it would be a great idea for Metallica to do a cover of this song...

  • @barryjgillis metallica has managed to cover songs that were meant to stay out of the metal box except for their garage days re reveisited ep the stuff after sucks bad...come on, thrash band covers skynyrd and bob segar(sp?) before they covered other metal bands and punk..metallica just plain sucks now.

  • @barryjgillis

Im sorry to tell you this but metallica sold out many years ago

  • I like this Maiden better. I don't dislike Dickenson, I just like this sound better I dunno why. Don't think I bought a Maiden album since Somewhere in Time and gave it to my cousin because it sucked.

  • IMHO, Paul's voice was just not strong enough to match the rest of the band.

Paul did a decent job on his stuff , but Bruce brought on a whole new era and vocal style that took us by storm!!

    Long Live Metal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! \m/ \m/

  • Di'Anno is the best! Bruce had the luck of realeasing great albums, but Paul realeased two jewels called "Iron Maiden" and "Killers". Two albums but what albums!

  • As much as I idolize Dickinson, I still believe that none of the Maiden albums with him on vocals can stand up to the two with Paul DiAnno. Just my honest, humble opinion.

  • I agree. Di'Anno is just as much as vital to the Maiden legacy as Dickinson is.

All their albums from 80's are classics, no matter who was fronting the band at the time.

  • Bruce has an amazing voice, but Paul Di'Anno had more "iron" to his voice. Love em both.

  • Me too. I was never "Dickinson vs. Di'Anno", like some Maiden fans are.

  • Of course, some days I prefer Dickinson and other days I prefer Di'Anno, but either way they're both great.

  • Agreed. After Powerslave Dickenson showed he could not do anything all that original or varied. Still a great singer though. DiAnno was a much more soulful guy. I love the first two Maiden albums, and in retrospect find that they have a diversity that you do not find on the later stuff.

  • @DarkwingDuckful well said , raw metal thats all

  • Yes I to have total respect for Bruce but I don't know, Paul's voice just had a darker "feel" which I have always loved.

  • Bruce is the best

  • Di'Anno for me I first saw him in 80 with the band and he grabbed the audiance round the throat and didnt let go superb .

  • i love diannos voice from these days,

i saw maiden at twickenham last year and they said they were gonna be making a new album. IMO they should get dianno back to do a one off song with them (likea bonus track)

  • That would be cool.

  • paul was the best singer for the songs he was meant to sing in. Bruce was best after Paul. No need to compare. Iron Maiden was a different band after Bruce.

  • he's searching for is father??

  • up the mother f#@cking irons mate ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • Paul D. does a much better job on this one. Despite the manifold assets Bruce brings to the band, he needs to avoid Wrathchild. UP THE IRONS!

  • i think paul has a bit of a better voice but bruce has a kickass stage presence and his singing just pumps me up a little more haha but thats just me.

  • honestly?...paul is my singer! i saw them in rome in 1979 as supporting act of Kissa....irons has kick theyr ass...ahhhhhahhhahhh

  • Di'Anno era un cantante bravissimo !! Liked him more than Bruce. Paul's voice is great on the first two Maiden albums.

  • es la mejor banda de rock de metal sigan subiendo videos del maiden dela dama de hierro que esla mejor banda

  • that singers better and so is the music ):

  • saw this tour in boston 81 with preist. this tune should be next to heavy metal in the dictionary. dianno is the man.

  • Yeah I forgot MAIDEN JAPAN!!!!!11

  • Damn I kind of forgot how damn good Paul sounded.Fucken killer!!!!

  • Cool Video. What legends

  • such a badass tune man!

    dave's solo is fucking rippin'

    thanks for posting!

  • I thought that was a different singer for that song.

  • I like both singers' voices; Bruce and Paul. I just think it's sad that they had to kick Paul out. He really had potential. I'm kind of glad that Bruce is the front man, though. I think Bruce's stage presence is overall better.

Both Bruce and Paul are legendary, though.

  • wow this was 28 years ago!

  • This is gold! I still like Bruce's vocals better though!

  • Paul is a true metal dude, so sad he lost it , Bruce ? let him fly his plane !

not to mention that Cliff kicks Nicko's arse !! he's a far better drummer.

  • SHIT!!! I can't put this video in my Orkut!! ¬¬"

  • Either Dave's amp is too low(volume) or he didn't feel like playing the lead fills?

  • paul makes them sound more dangerous, but if you were listening to maiden with Paul was there in 1980, you'd be lucky to find anyone in your neighborhood who even knew who or what iron maiden was...they were nobody

Bruce brought them into the limelight. I liked them better when they were low key...underground.....Same with Metallica and MotleyCrue.......No videos on MTV please!!...Just the shows...

  • Bruce is a better singer but not with the songs Paul sings

  • It's true, Bruce is a better singer, but nobody can sing the songs from the first 2 albums like Paul. He had his own style. It was fucking awesome. They should have done a couple more albums with him.

  • I wouldn't trust net tablature in generally.. use a reference tone and tab it yourself.

  • where can i find an accurate tab/sheet music for this? I already went to ultimate-guitar

  • ultimates not bad..its pretty on..just use your ears for the harmonys not to hard in 3rds or 4ths

  • I highly suggest learning by ear, or even watching them play, despite how long it would take to learn... It's in the key of E to get you started :D

Also, The Iron Maiden Anthology has a pretty fresh Wrathchild tab...I can copy the book and send it to ya if ya want! ;P

  • While I first heard Maiden with Bruce, I never really thought Paul was bad, he's actually sounds pretty good.

  • Him and Dickenson are some of my favorite singers of all time

  • yea but cmon people, how can u not like the screeches of Bruce Dickinson?

  • IRON MAIDEN - Wrathchild

  • Paul DiAnno had an unreal punk rock voice, good fit for maiden, too bad he was a junkie

  • never really knew that....never knew why he was booted or quit

  • one of the greatest metal songs ever written!!!

  • Agreed surg

  • Absolutely!!!

  • to each his won i prefer dianno tough his singing is awesome

  • great!

  • up the irons!

    ugh!

  • man, Paul DiAnno was DA BOMB!

  • personally i pref bruce

  • yea, bruce just fits better with maiden than paul did

  • DiAnno had a heavier voice which was unlike the typical high pitched singers of the 80's...perhaps technically Bruce can sing better but the rawness from Paul DiAnno's vocals just give a certain type of edge that higher pitched vocals don't.

...I mean I like Bruces vocals but too many times in Maiden songs with him singing there's an over dramatic high part, after so many songs like that its incredibly refreshing to listen Paul DiAnno's frenzied vocals for a change.

  • my mother was a queen, my dad I never seen, I was never meant to be ... love it

  • Yeeeeeeah!

    Fuckin' NWOBHM!!!!!

I love the first two albums...well,also the others xD

  • I like the current Irons singer, his voice is much better.

  • one of my 4 or 5 favorite iron maiden songs....

  • Damn I love this song.

  • Just fuckin LOUD and POWERFULL Awesome...Up The Irons....from Los Angeles, CA.

  • KILLER!! UP THE IRONS!!

  • did he quit or get fired?

  • fired

  • Comment removed

  • Wrathchild

  • WHat is the drum sound tha the very end ? it sounds like Run To The Hills, but it came out a year later!

  • Yeah it was "Run To The Hills" intro from another video clip. Bad editing?
