  • Incredible talented people :). I hope to see you at Paris :)

  • barretto best vocals...period !

  • I'm pretty sure that's just the way he plays it at 1:57 if you listen to the original drums he comes in with the up beat snare really quick right there. its not rushed at all.. sorry if it sounds to fast for you hahaha

  • @XxCruzerxX It sounds like "I'll come up with a fill now! OH FUCK WHOOPS"

  • orbin and haake are the best metal drummers today

  • are u seriously questioning the orbinator!! can u hear the fuckin ghost notes hes playing like the whole song! Theres no metal drummers that play like that!! and he does it perfectly

  • and hes got good ghost note groove as well.....i wish i could have the same feel as him:(

  • i dont know what it is about orbin but he hits the drums with such precision, and accuracy. He knows when not to overdue it as well, sometimes if you go too tech it takes away from the riff as opposed to complimenting it with something basic

  • orbinator!!

  • What song is this?

  • icarus lives without vocals.

  • Thank you sir.

  • Orbo doesnt make mistakes, The instruments couldnt uphold the sheer brutality of his polyrhytmic genius.

  • I love those one handed rolls at the start.

  • iggyfrance, you are an idiot. Please go back to school and learn how to type a cohesive sentence before you try and type on youtube.

  • I love this song. Reminds me of summer and freedom so much :) Love travid orbin

  • all those stupid comments and analizing all the parts drumwise, just listen and enjoy the music

  • meshuggah kicks ass and so does periphery

  • Orbin is in the Haake league lol. Too Tight

    A Haake-Orbin drum-off would be EPIC!

  • you wanna know something bad ass, first im seeing perphery live tomorrow in my hometown and second....

fredrik thordendal lead guitarist of meshuggah commented a photo on periphery's myspace saying they were badass

  • Great song. Is that me or the drummer is really off the tempo sometimes? Especially on the breaks like at 1:57

  • Just because he wasn't putting the snare on the downbeat doesn't mean he's off. Travis Orbin and Tomas Haake might as well be drum machines for being so damn precise!

  • That part sounds completely rushed like if he lost the tempo just a second, it also happens on several other videos. I don't mean he's bad or something like that but if it was intentional, it doesn't sound groovy and brakes the "squareness" of the prestation (and yes I'm used to and enjoy odd rythms and drumstyles :] )

  • dude ,,,,are you crazy....quit music ..you are a moron, travis drums to a metronome and is as precise as you wish you were!!. he is a fucking machine....it is called off time, not rushing tempo's.....get out of drum school and create something unique you lost soul!!

  • Geez are you responding to me? Chill out man, I've admitted through a bit of humor that I may be wrong ok? And FYI, I'm no stupid with music and rhythms, check out the third related video to this one (Glitch I, with the greeny thumbnail), it's my band and me playing a song I've done, check out our homepage in the video description, that may be enough for you to understand we know what are off-tempo beats.

  • You're wrong man. IT's fucking groovy and tight. What version of the video did you see?

  • He plays to a click live and the only way Travis would get off the click is if a nuke exploded in his general vicinity.

  • Ok I'm wrong, Periphery is made of cyborgs that a lightbulb programmed, they can't make any mistake ;)

  • Well it's not that we don't make mistakes, it's that I was there and he never got off tempo at all that night :)

  • to answer iggyfrances question, i think its fair to say that we all make mistakes live, hell i do it all the time, orbo does from time to time but he its pretty rare considering how much he practices!

however in response to the part at 1:57 he played it the way he was supposed to, it may be the sound thats not conveying it there, but in that instance there, i didnt hear any mistake.

  • OKay, thanks for answering, there was no anger or bitterness or anything, just wanted to know, it sounded odd to me :)

  • omg i love the drummer!!!

    best song ever written

  • This song has the coolest verse vocal melody ever.

  • damn strait, i have listened to this song over and over just for those vocals! quite genius actually.. the dissonant parts in the verse.

  • yeh. 2 different modes so the melody covers maybe 5 notes that are side by side.

  • @Sabellbu which one ur fav tho, there been 4 different vocal recordings to this song by 4 different singers

  • playing to who....12 people....enjoy it now, while you can.....before it costs 30 a ticket to see them !! haha

  • @odie0220 I LOVE WHEN IM RIGHT !!

  • @odie0220 Shit yes. Payed 73$ to see 'em last week.

  • I feel like this would be so much more badass if they were in a bigger venue like they should be

  • fucking masterful! the djent lives!

  • That's bee's knees.

  • se mamarooon

  • orbo et bulby sont bons!!!! d'ailleurs ils ont tous monstrueusement bons!!!!

  • this band kicks so much fucking ass the orbinator blows my MIIIINNNNDDDDDD!!!!!!!!

  • cooler with vocals...

  • The Song That Started It All

  • Icarus? Song that started it all? More like Letter Experiment, or The Walk-era

  • SO DAMN HEAVY !!!!!
