Thanks for all the comments and ratings everyone!

To answer some questions, I used a Sony HDR-SR7 (it's a hard drive camcorder, so I needed to also use an analog-to-digital converter, in my case, the ADVC-55). It works flawlessly with iStopMotion, but IMO the camera doesn't really matter, as long as the movements of the characters are smooth and timed right.

For the lightning, I used iMovie HD which has an effect called "Electricity" that I laid overtop of it.
