This was so helpful! I am crocheting these for my friend's baby that was born 11 weeks premature so she is very tiny so I am using a very small crochet hook and its coming out great! If you want to see the baby search "Miracle Baby Anna Destiny Spitsbergen" here on youtube and you can see pictures of her and hear her amazing story!
I agree - I never quite understood how to decrease before watching your video, and really need to see it done first before I truly understand written directions. Thanks for taking the time to pass on your skill - my sister lost her husband of 25 years and gained a new grandson in the same month. We were able to enjoy doing something positive and talking while learning to crochet something besides a potholder together! Thanks!
Thank you for taking the time to explain how it is done!! and for including the slow motion toe decrease video, I'd have been lost without that. I've never crochet until I came across your videos and now I have one bootie it's a little large because I used bigger yarn and a slightly larger hook, butI'm happy with it. And best of all I can say I did it myself!!!!
HI Teresa, i have a little problem with the third part of the video , it's not downloading the second half. is there anything i can do to watch the whole thing? i'm stuck after the 6th minute of the last part. help!
i finished one of the booties. It wasnt hard at all. I used the same size hook as urs but my yarn was 4ply so my baby bootie was a bit bigger...now its not small enough for a new born and not big enough for a toddler. :( But everything turned out good. i just have to make another one to match. haha.
Love your videos. I find myself spending hours by the computer just watching and practicing new crochet projects from you.
Hey again, Teresa!! I just did my very first baby bootie, and it didn't come out too bad, except for a few odd open spaces here and there, because I think I joined in the wrong stitches in certain places, and had to keep joining yearn so I had extra tails that were probaby throwing me off too, but for the most part it came out pretty good. I used an H hook, and so it came out a little bigger, but it almost fits my foot. ! I'll have to retry it tomorrow and hopefully it will be better!! Thanks!!
Thanks a ton this was awesome i just completed one of the booties.. hoping and wishing to learn them soon and make more for the poor kids here in India...waiting for more of yr videos.. God bless you !!! Thanks again
This is tooooooo cute!! Let's say I wanted to sell these at a festival, how much should I charge? I was hoping to have enough items to sell at the Labor Day Festival this year, but I dont', so I am going to do it next year. I've made some bright colored beach bags, small purses, scarves, and just recently did some baby hats. I figured I'd so some smaller things, and see how well they sell, and then maybe move onto bigger things. Hope to hear from you soon! Happy crocheting to you too!!!
excellent work. I can't wait to try it out sometime, I'm just starting to crochet and are pretty good at beginner things, so once I'm good enough I'll start these! Thanks! ^_^
Thank you so much, this was really very helpful, you made it so easy with your explanations. i've just finished a pair of baby booty, will start another one very soon.
Thank you Teresa for the detailed demonstration of the pattern. You make it so easy. God bless you for sharing your knowledge. I love crochet, knitting and patchworking and find a lot of comfort and happiness in creating such work. I believe tradition should live on and nothing like handmade work to do so.
Hi Teresa, I have learnt very few things when i was 14 years old...i was very much concerned about how i am goin to do some beanie cap and booties for my own baby. With your clear instruction i completed the cap and booties. Thank you very much. God bless!
Hi Teresa! This was the first successful booty I made! I messed up at the booty edging - didn't skip a stitch on Rnd2 of the edging. Still left room to weave the tie, but had twice the HDC & I didn't know what a V stitch was so I DC'd in each HDC for last two rounds & ended up with a ruffle at the top! Looked like a loose mess at the top, but after I cinched up the tie, it looked pretty good even though it was a mistake! Your videos and patterns help! Thank you SO much! --Melissa
You are AWESOME!! All your videos are great! Thank you so much for posting these. I have been crocheting for years but I've never been a good pattern reader, so to SEE how it is done has been SO helpful to me! I'm trying so many new things now. Please keep them coming! THANK YOU!!
Thanks a lot for these videos, i'm 7 month pregnant. I have made baby beanie and bootie for my baby boy followed by ur video. could you do one favour for me? i like to make sweater for my baby boy. could you please post the instruction to crochet a sweater? It was so easy for me to follow ur video. thanks once again
I worked on this along with you. I was doing good but some while I got off track. At the turing side of the sole, was I suppose to crochet in chain space or the top single crochet space. Where was I suppose to do the double crochet on the top? When I finished it looked good but it was off track and I know if I make the matching bootie it will not look the same. Thank you. I will keep trying.
It is difficult for me to troubleshoot without the row that you are working on. I also have written crochet instructions posted on my crochet blog which provides details on where you are supposed to crochet. Sometimes you can be off track a bit and they will still match. That is one of the great things about crochet. I know that you know it is there but no one else will even notice. Just keep the purpose of the booties in mind, keeping little feet warm. Perfection is not always necessary.
Thank you. I have a pattern simular to your video and I will try it. I know perfertion is not necessary but when one bootie is size 3 mos. and the other is 12 mos. lol. I'll keep checking out your videos, they have been so helpful. Keep them coming.
Am very thankful to for such a wonderful instruction regarding "crochet Baby booty". It was so easy for me to follow the instructions, as they so simple & self explanatory.

After im done gloating ill pass on the knowledge that you have given me. Thank you so super very much. Ill forever look up to you for crochet advice.

I was using a an F hook and my booty came out really big. How can I make it smaller? It looks like it would fit a 2 year old.
luthenia2233 2 years ago
You can use smaller yarn. I used 3 ply yarn so if you used 4 ply yarn it may come out larger. It is also possible that you naturally crochet loose.

my baby booty is too big
2loveable4 3 years ago
This pattern will turn out to be about 3.5" to 4" across the foot. Is your larger than that?
tjw1963 3 years ago
yes but i guess its because my needle's to big but is there any way for me to adjust it so that it won't come out bigger than 4"
2loveable4 3 years ago
You can use a smaller crochet hook. You can also use 3 ply or 2 ply yarn and it will come out smaller.
