guys, guys, guys... I am pretty sure that Lombardo can do a lot better, but Slayer doesen't require it... This playing that Proscriptor show here is awesome and i like his style and Absu but it wouldn't fit Slayer... Lombardo could do that easily in my opinion.. Lombardo is a lot better from Paul Bostaph for example, because i like more the drums of Lombardo for the songs which were originaly played by Bostaph..

Whether Slayer or Lombardo are "the best ever" is a matter of opinion. I'm a huge fan of both of them, no doubt. But Proscriptor is also a well-known and very respected musician in the metal underground for nearly two decades, and has toured the world on his own merits. So I'm sorry but the "Wal-Mart" comment is out of line, man. Slayer clearly respected this guy enough to give him an audition, so perhaps you should be more respectful as well.

Slayer is the greatest thrash band of all time and one of the top 10 metal bands ever and Dave Lombardo is, without a doubt the most badass metal drummer ever who also plays various other styles. @Burntorangebadass That´s called "Luck" and "Endorsement". There are tons of drummers, especially in extreme metal, who play Lombardos stuff with their left ball....while they´re asleep!!! Just look out for Mauro Mercurio, Derek Roddy, Flo Mournier, George Kollias, John Longstreth, Proscriptor.....dude...tons of them. Lombardo rocks, no doubt, but he´s by far NOT the best and definitely not the highlight of metal drumming....so don´t be a fanboy....

LOL! Do you have a clue who this guy is? First of all...Dave Lombardo is a huge influence on Russ. This was an opportunity for him to try out for a band that has influenced his career as a musician. Secondly, Dave Lombardo has nothing on the Russ and I do not mean that disrespectfully in any way...the fact of the matter Russ is just better period. He is a better all around musician. To call this guy WalMart is as ignorant as it gets!

@kpmorgan thats awsome you know him. and yeah thats what ive noticed ive talked to a lot of death metal and black metal musicians at shows and they are all just normal, friedly and even helpfull people. the drummer for Goatwhore (by band opend for them in detroit once.)he watched me warm up and play a few songs. then after he played we got to talked and he gave me some really good advice on how to do blast beats.
