I'm actually writing about Veronica Guerin in my final term paper and I didn't know that there is another film based on her story (I've watched "Veronica Guerin" and I liked it, but everyone says this one is better, or at least more realistic. After all, the second v.g. movie is a modern film made for an audience and not nessecarily as a biography).

I guess I'll watch it soon!

I am german and it's quite scary that my parents never heard of the massive drug and crime problems in ~1990 in dublin.

This film is actually brutal! Veronica Guerin with Cate Blanchett was miles better!

There are true heroes here on earth ... and Veronica G. was one amongst the top order. For those who have never seen 'When the Sky Falls', starring Joan Allen, it is a must. Better than 'Veronica Guerin' ... more gritty depth, and timely atmosphere ... and Sinead O'Connor's version of 'Full Circle' as the ending song is heart-wrenching to say the least. I have four videos in my library and Veronica's story takes up exactly two spaces. Long may the memories of her light and legacy survive.

I think you might get it on Amazon or NetFlix. The film was released in Cinemas and I'm pretty sure on DVD too.

And you'd be right to be cynical. This film is a fictional account of a true story and as such has many flaws. One thing is true though and that is that Veronica Guerin didn't believe that the IRA were involved in drugs.

Thanks for watching J. Worked on the film from the beginning. In fact Veronica Guerin was still alive when myself and co-writer Michael Sheridan started the script which was to be her story. I think the film is available on Netflix as well as Amazon and is sometimes shown on Sky Movies. There is another version directed by Joel Schumacher called 'Veronica Guerin' starring Cate Blanchett.
