  • Pencak Silat and Karate are vast different systems really. As for the post itself: Awesome display of Pukulan and Bela Diri, finally some traditional Pentjak again. Terima Kasih! From Pencak Silat Ratu Adil @ Netherlands

  • @Flaphand thank you! And my best wishes to Guru Terlinden & his family & his students!

  • @Geraksatriashakti I will do, it saddens me that I have to inform you that Rudy Terlinden passed away quite some time ago. There's a dedication on Youtube of him. Search it out if you're interested ;)

  • @ silatyogi Any other Classical Karate guys see A LOT of similarities between his movements and those in the Naihanchi kata series?

It just goes to show you how all the arts are related. I know that there was trade between Okinawa and Indonesia as far as West Java, so I wonder if the could have some cross over. Sir, if these movements came from a langka or juru, could you do a video on the ones they come from? I would love to see re relation between the two arts.

    Thank you so much!

  • gud vid bro..

  • good job... i learn cimande too :p

  • You guys are scaring the Silat Hell out of me, fantastic applications.

  • @Tyjobuou812 thank you brother

  • Great stuff. One of my favorite sera vids. Excellent movement!

  • @eskabo thanks!

  • @eskabo hi this is sera & cimande. : )

  • @putrofalzette wsalams thanks alhumdulilah

  • Brilliant work guys. Beautiful balance of the Pukulan and Langkah.

  • thank you!

  • If you beat that guy bad enough, then he could use a handicapped parking space instead of that one. j/k

  • i am 200lbs so an extra 60lbs (260lbs or 120kilos) is not an issue to deal with. Realistic is the following "size" does not matter.

  • Awesome entries thanks for posting Guro!

  • my wife said it is fake because the opponent didn't defend himself...

    she said that...not I....

  • This is what's often called Maen (free-play). It's a forum for playing with ideas and movements under controlled circumstances. I think your wife will find that if the hits were real, using correct gelek etc. the opponent wouldn't get the chance to defend himself in the first place :-)

  • @crestmartialarts very true bro thanks

  • bagus bro.memang bagus...

kalau main berat sikit lagi bagus....

  • Salams Terima kasih

  • Great video! Thanks for posting this. For the people who haven't played or haven't had techniques like this done to them. Its like being thrown into a industrial washmachine,on high w/ a boulder inside with you....... silatyogi thanks again

  • Thank you : )

  • Good Stuff! Anytime you are in Central Florida, please let me know.

  • go good work on silat, silatyogi.

  • thanks because u know how to appreciate our people arts. malay martial arts still got many sub version. those all styles of pukulan sometimes u can't implement it easily when u counter silat fighters with the knowledge of "pemati langkah"@step killings , "segerak"@shortcut or "petua"simple counter movement. I never say your skills were not useful at all. just learn more and beware of pemati pukul,

  • hey, what does pemati mean? is there a word in any language? coz pemati is my surname...please, give me an answer, cuz im very curious...

  • in simple english it means killer.

for this purpose it means the understanding to stop either to counterback or to absorb any try of attack or assaulting movement toward us. for the expert this high understanding can be use while doing the attack.

  • "pemati" mean killer? and has all those meanings? but it doesnt sound even english. how is that possible? so im a killer family :P...

  • Sukhoi.....Sukhoi.....(Amazing....Amazing....)

  • yes bro ...keep the good work for silat

  • awesome!! you good!!

  • look everyone in the martial arts community is getting sick of you bullshido over skeptical mma nutruders. You most likely have never done either mma or any martial arts in the first place(besides sum karate wen u wer five). not to mention; where do you think all mma techniques come from? tradtional fighters like this. whats next krav maga sucks too?

keep up the good work silatyoga :D

  • exactly.

Some ignorant fans of the MMA world, think simply like this: if MMA'ers dont use it, it doessnt work.

Kung Fu(wing tsun, bagua, xing yi), Pencak Silat, Ninjutsu, all of them were created in times were they had to be used. Only techniques that worked were passed on, simply because the users survived to tell the story. Saying it doessnt work before you have tried it is just ignorance.

  • Sure....

What makes you think we don't use fakes? What makes you think we stay still? What makes you think you know what we do?

  • o my...but this is wing-chun!! not exactly the same but...

  • wow..good teknik

  • nice bro

  • cool man.. would of kick ass with an Aghora song ;)

  • SilatYogi:"I will post others soon with more devastating take downs."

Hopefully (for the other guy) you will find a softer place for him to land... ^_^

  • What you don't like my training mats in my dojo? : )

  • Asphalt??? HA!!! Yeah, it's real, but I see it as similar to going 100% in training. Partners don't last long.

Train on concrete and no one's PARTS last long...

We have carpet over the concrete in my garage, so it's not too padded, but it's a bit safer. We do juru on the back patio

  • I know you're kidding tho ^_^

  • we train on concrete, and on grass 3x's a week. The key with the concrete is extra qi gong training & breathing.

  • Silat is not about remembering techniques, anyone can copy these techniqies, but mentality and intentions is what makes silat. This video shows excellent mentality and intentions. Great skills as always Guru Santiago, respects to you and yr instructors. 5 stars.

  • Thanks Guru Maul. I appreciate your kind words & you are absolutely correct my friend!

  • Very Cool!

  • q bolas man que te cortaste el pelo!!!!!!!!! cool!!!!! un abrazo! que risa la vaina, jhejeje

  • Thanks brother! Yes sometimes long hair is a pain in the ass. After 13 years I had enough. Also its vulnerability when it comes to Silat.

    Peace

    Santiago

  • your demonstrations always show great awareness and focus. you truly are a master!

oh and nice haircut too. sometimes the long hair gets to be a pain haha
