They serve a purpose though. When you look at the guitar strings in close view, if you're wearing narrow glasses, their skeleton interferes with your view of the strings/fretboard. So he has to wear spacious round glasses to avoid that. Later on he switched to contact lenses anyway.
Tecnico123: this is definitely Bajo La Palmera. Cuba indeed sounds somewhat similar, especially the first few bars. To compare you might like to listen to David Russell performing Cuba on guitar also on youtube.
yeah great, lovely acoustic..just got this rehearsed up and memorised with duo partner then duo folded..any aspiring players out wanna do this wiv me?have got 1st part memorised..llobet edition
I think it´s a matter of taste. I like it more when they zoom them playing from time to time or some movement. It would be boring to see the same "rigid" angle the whole time.
Why are so many of these shot with horrid lighting and dorky clothing? Would be better if cameramen knew itz better NOT to move the camera much...it doesn't need the extra "drama". Oh well, nice playing.
I agree about the camera angles. Would you be fine with a straight on shot of them playing for a whole hour video, in other words as if you were sitting in the audience?
I ask because I am producing a classical guitar video in the near future and keep thinking about whether to ahve the zooming and the like. My thought for now is to have one angle for each piece, without much variation.
Most cameramen are idiots. I videoed a famous guitarist and kept the camera in tight so both hands could be seen. It came out better than his expensive film crew did with all sorts of crane shots, etc. False drama is stupid. The music, if good enough, is enough to hold interest. Kurasawa and Begman filmed way before 1975, so Polori, don't tell me about stateof the art visuals. Cameras should move when needed. And Pingtism; get bent.
Notice the difference in posture between the two.

Esta pieza es Bajo La Palmera... tal vez el comienzo se parece un poco, pero el tempo de Cuba es un poco más rápido y el tema es distinto.

Why are you bothered about clothing? Go to the fashion section if that's your thing. Please listen to the MUSIC.
