There is just much money in free health care, watch just three years later Obama going to cancel free health care, pensions, and welfare cause our economy is shit but will spends billions to fund a war in Iran and Syria
I'm still wondering how Americans would get free healthcare in Cuba, they aren't citizens. Also it would cost less even if the Americans did pay though
@agustinbs I guess but apparently the poor get the shitty care and the rich get the better care, so it's not the great system in Cuba the movie makes it out to be
@MaddDogg81 Again better than nothing, but if anybody gets there fingers cut off, i bet they will try to tide them again.
In that system, people is near to have their assistance , and believe me, my family is full of medics and they will be willing to heal whatever they can, because they believe in a health as a service, not a business.
I live in Argentina and we have a quite good free heal system, my father once got a peritonitis and they save his life quite, left the hospital without debt.
Of course the Cuban government is terrible, but to say their healthcare system is bad is a terrible statement. They have a doctor for every 250 families, one on every corner, and have excellent care for their investment. Why not be smart and take their (very few) good ideas, even though we have many more good ideas. A big part of our national debt is healthcare. So much misinformation from the HMO machine/republicans.
Che Guevara was a murderer. The Cuban health Care system sucks..yes...it sucks more than the U.S system. All of you who are defending Cuba's system should go live there. So many cubans under the sea and you people paying honor to Che? wow
Michael talking to Che Guevara's daughter and she is not telling the truth. The 'free' health care that people who does not have communist's idea doesn't get the same treatment than a person who does. If you are not part of the CDR, PNR. UJC and etc you can't go to the doctors that the communists do. Is pretty everything she says but is not true. Castro sell medicines, what is she talking about?
americans are vindictive and vengeful, dont really understand how you can have a blockade law against such a small and vulnerable country, no matter what they did.
You are hurting the innocent public far more than Castro so...
Simple: Cubans live longer because they don't eat trash like Americans do. If we were less obsessed with work, there'd be less stress and we'd have time to cook natural, healthy food.
What I've seen of Cuban physicians impresses me. I've never been to Cuba but they send their doctors to work in other areas of Latin America where doctors are needed. They've been a blessing here in Honduras and I assume also in other countries where they've worked. That being said, I can't take seriously the line of "every life is important" to Cuban doctors when abortion is legal on demand in Cuba.
She has a South American accents (like Argentina), but she says "us Cuban doctors"...WTF? Sosmething is not right here. Don't tell me Che had a daughter in Cuba raised by Argentinians.
He used to call her his ''little Mao.'' I'm so happy she did not turn out like her mother-Hilda, who was nasty. Che only married her because she carried his child.
no mentions of how her dad was a murderer, who executed anyone who disagreed with him. Too bad "el Che" has become some sort of icon in this country, that "rebellious" college kids wear cause they don't know any better.
If Cuba and it's healthcare system is so great, then why are so many Cubans literally dying to get out? Why aren't they allowed to leave? If it were any good, then the people would stay there. Fuck Che, and fuck his daughter. Oh yeah, fuck that fat hypocrite Michael Moore too.
Che Guevara killed people!?! What a military man killing people?? That's absurd. Are you sure?? We all know that if you are in charge of a military and especially one that is going up against such a powerful and seductive ideology as imperialism you would never have to pull the trigger. We all know diologue or having others do your killing for you is the way leaders should act. I mean that's what they do in every other country right? Wow Che Guevara sure was strange.
@DaHappyBuddha what? I'm aware that he killed enemy combatants, just like any soldier does. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the people he killed because they didn't agree with his political beliefs. Politicians, teachers, whatever. Just political prisoners that he murdered because they didn't join his communist cause. He became the same has the dictator's he hated so much, worse actually.
@atkm2891 Nations are built by men killing other men in cold blood. This is just the reality. Compassion has nothing to do with being nice and not killing. It is putting yourself behind others. Many people feel Che Guevara did this. Many of us look at the sacrifices he made (material, comfort, high status) as a noble effort. He fought in countries not his own on different continents for one purpose and he was willing to die for it and did die for it. It is this ideal he has come to embody.
@DaHappyBuddha Too bad he died for a filthy cause. A cause that had done nothing but oppress the people in the countries he "liberated". Cuba? If it was any good, people would be allowed the choice to leave it. The revolution destroyed Cuba, and took away individual rights. People who had worked all their lives had their property stolen by the government, which was then redistributed to lazy citizens and government friends. Marxism is childish, and most grow out of it.
@atkm2891 Che helped paved the way for change. Whether or not that happened can not rest soley on him.You may make valid points about Cuba, I do not know. But it is a cookie cutter way to look at Che. People worked all their days in South America and had their "property" stolen long before Che. How many indigenous people worked or work the land only to be told to leave? How much corruption was there? Again marxism, capitalism, ism ism. Life is not cookie cutter. You miss the point.
@DaHappyBuddha I don't really hate Che, I just hate how people glorify him, and wear shirts with his stupid face on them, thinking its cool. 90% of them don't know the real Che.
@atkm2891 I have no problem with people glorifying Che, but wearing his face on a shirt and plastering a poster of him on a wall does seem stupid, only because he'd be telling people to get rid of their worthless symbols and arm themselves with the guns of insurrection.
@nocturnezero too bad 99% of modern Che wanna-be's are totally against guns and any type of violent revolution...We'll leave that to the right wing...
@Mandarin2qt4u No, I never got the "truth" memo from the "all-knowing" Fidel. I guess i've only heard the" lying capitalist" version. Yeah, Batista was corrupt, but Cuba had a GDP equal to Italy's, a large middle class, and some of the highest wages in the world. Batista was authoritarian and entered by coup, but there was freedom of press. Look at Cuba now, they have a dictator, horrible relations with the western world, NO freedom and bad living conditions..
Well, the Havanna in the rule of Fidel is far from great, but was the old Havanna ruled by Batista better? You say yes. But towards whom? Havanna was considered a no mans-land during the rule of Batista, because of the following reasons. The country was ruled as a casino, with a dominant free market which allowed the upper class to take advantage of the economic chaos.
This chaos was of course very lucrative for the corporations that was ran. In my opinion, you should work from the root in a country. The problem was that the poverty in Cuba by this time. Yes, a minor population of Cuba was very wealthty, but you can't despite the fact that a huge part of the population was living in extreme poverty. This resulted in a Revolution, a result to the chaos that was taking place. You can't dement the fact why this happend. This chaos was responded with a Revolution.
@Mandarin2qt4u Why does Castro's Cuba always have to be judged by comparing it to Batista's? Whatever shortfalls it had back then [and the country wasn't ruled by a casino, you've been watching too many Hollywood movies] pale in comparison to how it is now, but I digress, you sell Cubans short. Cubans deserve better than castro who has destroyed Cuba and the only alternative isn't a return to Batista who's been dead for the last 30 years.
the health system of Cuba is a mess, at which time you attend to your patients if you are always foreign policy making in Argentina, Italy, Spain and they say all the vines in the world around you, which street you walk TU , which neighborhood your site visitors, who also told you that you hear when you think differently, you sent to jail or send a rapid response brigades (mob group of people who offend) to shut you up, first respect each other as Cubans

Also ships cannot dock in US ports for 6 months after docking in Cuba, so a lot of ships won't go to Cuba. US also pressures Europe etc not to trade with Cuba. Cuba has difficulty buying medicines because a lot of them have US patents and can't be sold to Cuba. Don't tell me the blockade means nothing.

The embargo is unilateral. Only the US applies it.

Cuba survives thanks to US donations of medicines and food.
