  • And then they failed.. COME BACK PONTIAC!

  • They're bring this car back as the Chevy Caprice

  • bring the g8 back in chevy badge

  • @kompleti Holden are exporting it again and it will be a chevy only with a camaro grill.

  • @scarblade234 thats great

  • @kompleti Yeah but we aussies are nervous because we want our car to be known as our car.

  • I bought a 2009 G8 GT today. I pick it up on Wednesday. This is the best car GM has put out in 25 yrs. I was really glad I could find one. This is the last red G8 GT left in NJ. Plus $3500 cash back and 0% for up to 72 mos.

  • @MCHAH You do realise the car is 20 years old. Holden Produced the Commodore 20 something years ago and only now is it exported (Chevy will import it in a year or two). Long before the commodore, Holden produced the Monaro which was exported long after and sold as the pontiac gto. Obviously, the car has gone through heaps of models before the gto and g8 models. The commodore model that was the g8 has already been replaced with a new model. The new model will be exported and sold as a chevy.

  • @scarblade234 dude you do realize that chevy pointiac and holden are all the same GM owns them all

  • @Coolio2480 yeah, der.

  • Comment removed

  • You (Pontiac) started "ground-up" with an "ALL-NEW" vehicle ??????? Bullocks!!!!! You just took a Holden Commodore manufactured in Australia, changed right-to-left (steering), put a new grill.... AND YOU CALL THIS "STARTING GROUND-UP??? You Americans are good in "living in a world of your own".. or the corporates are making you.

  • @nzguru umm hey retard i dont know if you notice but its an all new car for Pontiac and plus Holden is GM

  • Same here I wa nt one sooo bad but ima drive my bonneville 1 year and a half more and save my pennies then buy a white gxp at the end of 2010 i hear thats the last year

  • i want one so bad, but im going to wait a few years so its not so expensive

  • god I want to get one so bad!

  • Video kicked ass!!!!

i just got mine yesterday and let me tell you ITS OFF THE MOTHERFUKEN CHAIN!!!!!! ITS SOOOO POWERFUL AND IT HANDELS SO FUKEN WELL!!!!!! i was gonna get the mustang 2010 but i think this car blows it ouT THE WATER!!!!!!

  • @tonystarks4545 nice! keep me updated, i'm thinking of getting a black 2010 G8 GT next year before they're gone

  • haha dude no lie. i was looking for a new car and my two options were the 2010 mustang or a 2009 pontiac g8.. guess which i chose? g8. never made a better decision

  • A beautiful car. It is much more handsome when viewed in person; it WILL turn heads.

I read that for 2010, GM will implant its direct-injection 304HP 3.6L V6 engine from the base Camaro and Cadillac CTS into the G8. Cool. That done, it will cement the Pontiac G8 portfolio of vehicles as the all-around value king of sport sedans.

Looks. Power. Agility. Handling. Stability. Transmission. Trunk space. 5-passenger utility. 11-speaker premium sound system. Nice leather. What's not to like?

  • To bad that's never going to happen now.

  • what a dickhead, this car was designed and built in AUSTRALIA so i dont no why he kept saying we.

  • I agree that the car is made in Australia, but we need to remember that Holden, Pontiac, Chevrolette, Buick, etc.... are all owned by General Motors. GM owns the factories, and they have the right to market the car under any brand that they want.

With that said, it IS an Australian car, and I give Holden two thumbs up. I just picked up my G8 GT today (Commodore for the picky people) , and so far I'm loving it. Thanks Holden! ;)

  • it was just made in australia..GM CALLED ALL THE SHOTS.

  • umm no GM was the funding but this car was designed and manufactured in Australia, Holden is still an indipendant company!

  • @tperr63 GM had jack shit to do with it. Just gave holden the engine. Holden designed, built, produced and exported the commodore (g8). The g8 modified parts (front bumper and badges) were even built/put on in aus.

  • @scarblade234 Holden is a part of GM.

  • @scarblade234 GM kind of has EVERYTHING to do with it, because if it wasn't for GM there wouldn't even be a Holden. Here's a simple tip for you, free of charge. The internet is a powerful tool, if you ever want to find out what is called a FACT, simply go to the source. Holden's website says "General Motors Company, Detroit, Michigan, USA.". Just go to Holden's "About" page, after you're done reading, come back and let us all know how stupid you feel. Thanks.

  • @soundtheology Holden was around before GM. Holden's website says: "PARENT COMPANY - General Motors Company, Detroit, Michigan, USA". GM approved the production of the Commodore back in 1978. Let me say that again: APPROVED the PRODUCTION of the Commodore back in NINETEEN SEVENTY EIGHT!!!. This does not mean GM built the car, it means they approved for a company they own to build and manufacture a car. Since 1978, Holden kept updating the Commodore with new models AT THEIR OWN CHOICE.

  • @scarblade234 You're silly. I quote "GM had jack shit to do with it.". How did they have "jack shit" to do with the G8? When the entire 8 part of the G has to do with the ENGINE that GM built. All I am saying is that GM does have Jack Shit to do with it, in fact, the G8 wouldn't exist without GM. And if you didn't have a parent you wouldn't exist either. Kind of like Holden wouldn't exist without their PARENT company. ;)

  • @soundtheology Holden existed before GM bought it out so it would be in existence without GM today. The car was called the G8 in America so it would fit into Pontiac's naming system (eg. G6, G8 etc.). The VE Commodore was released 2 years before the Commodore was exported to the USA and sold as the G8. Yes the engine is from america but that doesn't mean the car is american. Here's a true fact: The C'dore wouldn't have existed if it wasnt for Opel. They made the 1st Commodore.

  • It's ok, I wouldn't fuss as it's all US shows etc they can't keep running around saying this is made in Australia all the time.

  • It's an American engine and a Aussie design, nonetheless, can't we just get along?

  • @meinsla holden tune up the engine so its more 75-25.

  • That's right youtube you can't fuck up this comment!!! hahahahahahahaha!!!

  • @#$%&&^%$#*(^^#@)$

  • does anyone know if u can get the black and red interior for the regular g8 not the gt?

  • you can not

  • The nicest sedan out there. OWNS TOYATA.

  • annoying guy. nice car

  • Could there be anything as annoying as a slimy car salesman yakking for 10 minutes like he was an engineer or stylist? Allow me to sum this farce of a video up in a few short sentences....AHEM..

Hi, I'm a cheeseburger and donut choking semi-smooth talking "spokesperson ". Lookit this shiny red jelly bean with a Pontiac grill stuck on it. For a measly extra $26 we will slap your choice of decals on it..like say..GTO, or G8svgxb or whatever! Did I mention it's red and shiny? WHEEE!!

  • He should stop saying "We" because he nor anyone in Pontiac designed that. American my aussie arse

  • You're comparing apples to oranges. The Cobra and GTO are sports cars, or coupes, with two doors. This is a mid-sized sedan. Which means its a four door. Not meant to compete with a Cobra or GTO. It's meant to compete with other sedans. And in the mid-size sedan segment, it not only competes, in most cases it dominates.

  • what do you mean "we" fat ass it's a holden which is all aussie you did fuck all you replaced the bonnet and the front bumber and a few new badges

  • ha ha ha you're right :) it's Holden .

  • Yeah Exactly, He kept saying We (as in Pontiac Built it) They Didnt do Shit, its all Holden!!

  • ITS THE SAME FRICKEN SHIT.

  • Great Video

  • well, objectively speaking, he probably counts as two passengers

  • lol nice one

  • I don't think it gets 50/50 weight distribution with jabba the hut driving.

  • I am a performance sedan enthusiast so this is a god send. I do think a coupe is coming but the sedan is all that interests me.

  • Pontiac did not design this car its been on sale in Australia for about two'ish years. The Holden Commandore is very US styled looking car, but Mr.Pontiac you really did nothing in the design of the car except putting that stupid looking front on it!

  • did some one get shot at 2:28?

  • LOL!!

  • LMFAO!!

  • it must be a massacre if someone got shot everytime i heard that noise!!!

  • It's a slick looking car, no doubt about that. But I'm tired with all the "performance sedan" crap, the new G8 GT puts out the same amount of power from it's LS3 as the last gen GTO's LS2 and weighs about 400 pounds more, and it comes bundled with a V6 and automatic transmission option. I'm glad Pontiac ditched the outdated W-body FWD stuff but if it wants to build a good flagship car they should at least give the option of a straightforward G8 performance coupe.
