I agree. My trainer said to use a round pen when I went completly tackless even though my horse was doing great and listening. You are seem like such a great teacher!
you're awesome, that made me laugh. i agree natural horsemanship is just a way of convincing 13 yr olds that they're "playing" with their horse and forging a "strong and loving" bond. i've never been a fan of he round pen and neither is my horse.
Unfortunately, having started out as, first, a John Lyons student & second, as a Monty Roberts student, I have invested nearly 400 hours in the round pen (& also bought an expensive round) over the last two years--& Bodhi the OTTB simply hates to enter the round pen.
We are--I am, now stuck & at an impasse in my relationship with Bodhi.
you know that i've never looked at this way, but you are right. that is why my horse would look at me like "what did I do wrong"
