  • This pirate kind of reminds me of that DBZ pirate also for the GBC where the music was stolen from Megaman Xtreme.

  • @GameDude2 - I wonder what that one's called, and if a ROM of it is available because I'm quite interested.

  • @CrashManEXE I believe it's the same one you used to make a video of from your old Pirate ROM Hunt series.

  • @GameDude2 - I did a video of it? I don't remember it. If you happen to know its name then it may jog my memory.

  • The graphics are like the King of Fighters version for Neo Geo Pocket Color D:

  • The sprites are awesome!

  • YAY a good pirated fighting game!!!!

  • I lol'd when Rock's face showed up in the opening.

That, and the fact Dong Hwan's name is spelled "Dang" in the game. XD

  • Um...you know, for a PIRATE game that's called Garou Mark of the Wolves, it sure messes the continuity up pretty badly.

Joe, Mai, Andy, and Ryo weren't even IN Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

  • Was one of them named "DANG?"

  • @lemurboy123 - Apparently, yes :P

  • 5:38 - the music is from Nettou King of Fighters 95

  • @drav35 Actually, THE ENTIRE SOUNDTRACK is Nettou King of Fighters '95, if you haven't noticed.

  • I swear, these new sprites are AWESOME for a pirate like this. Why did nobody made sheets of them is beyond me.

  • at least Sintax got the names right

  • @shpared Something tells me it's not made by Sintax actually. Garou uses the SAME engine King of Fighters R2/2003 did, with SKOB copyrights buried in it. Other sources indicate, though, that Garou was made by Vast Fame, at the very probable least.

  • @CrashNicker and you discovered that using the hex editor didn't you? and btw, what does SKOB stand for?

  • @shpared It doesn't stand for anything, yet it has it's own full name. bootleggames(*)wikia(*)com/wiki/SKOB

Either Barver or Codeman discovered the letters SKOB in the graphics of KoFR2, I just tried to compare both engines. Oddly enough, when you turn Garou and KoFR2 into monochrome GB mode, they both have the same HUD glitch. Therefore...

  • @shpared Beg my pardon, I confused Vast Fame and Fiver Firm XD

Fiver Firm made this Garou game, according to Barver.

  • @CrashNicker - Fiver Firm? I have not heard of that company before... and I'm curious what other games they did.

  • @CrashManEXE Actually, neither did I. Well, I don't have too much info on GameBoy pirates, so try to ask the experts! XD

  • @shpared Fuck. Am I really tired today. That's Taizou, not Barver! XD

Well, in any case, check this article:

    bootleggames(*)wikia(*)com/wiki/Garou%3A_Mark_of_the_Wolves

  • It's weird. Only three of those characters were even in Mark of the Wolves. The others are from previous games in the series, or in Ryo's case, from the Art of Fighting (although he showed up in Garou Special).

  • @IamTheS Actually four. WIth Jae Hoon being a mere hair swap of Kim.

  • I lol'd at the fact that Dong Hwan is named Dang, and that Jae Hoon uses Kim's sprites. Nice originality, Sintax. :V

  • The opening reminds me of that GBC Final Fantasy pirated game. And the music is the exact same music from that game... except whereas that game was actually good, this one seems mediocre at best.

  • if it's garou mark of the wolves, why did they add king of fighter characters lol

  • @gunboss201 Most of those ARE Garou characters. The only one that's not is Ryo, and he was in the series before KoF even started.

  • @gunboss201 they also have Ryo from Art Of Fighing

    And Terry from Fatal Fury.

  • @yalnif11 i know... but oh well.. People who made the Pirates must have not planned

  • @gunboss201 But the 2 characters were at the very begining of the king of fighters series. SNK just ran out of ideas

  • damn these sprites are stolen from Neo Geo Pocket Color's....

  • Actually, the music's ripped from the official KOF '95 game for Game Boy. But given the fact that Sintax is notorious for stealing music from other games, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they were somehow involved in this one too.
