I find it funny that they're showing video games and sports to an Apple audience. They don't seem like the types who watch sports or play games. Just stick to your screenplay writing, coffee house reviews, organic lettuce, your lame photo album of your trip to Paris, and living off of your trust fund.

As disappointed as a lot of teens and college students are about the iPad, it definitely is a product that was made to appeal to adults first. Can't wait to see if they partner w/ the Wall Street Journal!

Man, this could have been a lot better... It's just a big iPhone, without the phone... It's obviously a great piece of kit, but I would feel ashamed to say "revolutionary/ground breaking" in any sentence to describe it the way some people have said... Don't get me wrong, I will buy one purely for the browsing, music and movie features but it could be so much more... Don't portable computers run proper operating systems..?? Hopefully a jailbreak will sort out these shortcomings..

Also, you aren't forced to buy digital content. Book stores still sell normal books. Music stores still exist. You can still buy CDs at Best Buy and Walmart. Blu Ray is still part of Sony's winning strategy, so don't expect disc format movies to go anywhere. Digital content is an alternative to people who live all digital lives. It is an option, not the standard.

By any chance use Firefox or Chrome for web browsing do you? Thats open-source. Much of the foundation for OSX (powers the ipad) ,openGL? ,open-source, and heres a new example, blender, a brill 3d modelin app that rivals many commercial apps, is open-source aswell.
