There's an effects error in this clip. When Charles falls from his injuries from trying to stack the grain, his hat lands at least 2 maybe 3 levels above him. Then when Luara and Mary start moving the grain sacks you see his less than an arm's length above him.

If you're refering to the crooked dealer, there's a similar scene in John Wayne's movie Tall in the Saddle. A card player cheats thinking he can be John by using a card that went dead from John seeing. He forces John to leave at gunpoint when he refuses to give in. But John returns with his own pistol showing the man he's willing to play rough if that's it's going to be even though he won the game fair and square and the man gives in, showing the coward he really is.

This is a great episode in that it establishes the tone of the entire series ie the ingals family are a bunch of sappy LOSERS! the irish guy was 100% right. a deal is a deal. charles should have waited till his work was done before he went to slack off flying a kite. also, i noticed he has no hair on his body. if he can afford to get waxed, he should be able to feed his kids. his priorities are not in order.
