@bishoy01 ite my iphones broken i have no home button its fallen off and my sleep button dnt work but n e way if ur sleep button works great, what u do u go on messgaes or an app or wotever ur goin on and when u want to gt out off it press the sleep button then do it agen to gt to the password screen go onto emergency call and click bk to put in your password put that in and it takes you back to the home screen where ur apps and messages and calls etc is hopefully that helped if u hv a prbleem

Hey, so i had the same problem and since it is the oldest ipod i figured. what the hect. I took it apart and got to the center button and found that there is a small sticker looking piece that has a copper contact. The copper contact gets dust on it. (hard to believe but dust does get in there) If you carefully take a cutip you can clean it off. I havnt put it back togeather because i am waiting for a new battery but it should have fixed it.
@misssicopico you need to open up the ipod's digitizer (you can find how to movies for this) and then look carefully for the copper contact. In my girlfriend's ipod this contact was released. I soldered it back on the "motherboard". When I put the digitizer on it again it worked. hope I helped you

connected it to your computer... turn on ur passcode or make one.... lock it ..... puch hold button and when it says enter passcode take as many screenshots as it take for untol the music shortcut pops up... enter pass code and let the battery die again... connect to computer and there u go!!!

Go to the slide to unlock part, unlock it and when it comes to the password part, make a screenshot(press the home button and the top button for 1 second) it should make a flash on your screen. After that, enter your password and your home button will be working(If you don't have a password on the Slide to unlock, add one just to do these things)

the Home button is not needed if you have Mquickdo installed. I tested Mquickdo and it worked like a charm. You'll never need to use the home button again after you got mquickdo.

Useless video. But I'm not gonna bitch... I also have a broken home button on my iPod Touch. Physically broken, and I can feel it -- there's no spring and the button is depressed. My 2-year old son did it. I knew it was gonna happen... but hell... I got an iPhone and decided to let the little guy play with the iPod Touch. That only helps if your if the software/os freezes. It's like restarting the pc. But as you can see, the software works, but the button doesn't. If you have jailbreak, you can install a prog that simulates the home button.
Had the same issues. Just restored it and sent it in. The jailbreak was totally erased by restore and I only needed my S/N, didn't need a reciept or such.

My Homw button is broken, it is down and won't spring up, it works only if i press it very hard, it happening when I was running with it in my pocket, I think the spring slipped... Hi, yeah i had the exact same problem, its doesnt work if you push it so it makes that clicky noise, but if you tap it, as you would the touch screen it works for me:) I would try get a replacement but, ive lost the warenty and i've also jalibroken it so... I doubt they would replace it :) Anyways i hope this help people who are in a similar situation to me. Oh, also if the light tap thing doesnt work, try pressing the very bottom of the screen just above the home button.
iOS 5 go onto options and then general and turn on assistivetouch. Then tap the box and then it will come up with home at the bottum

upgrade your firmware to 3.1.2 and use blackrain to jailbreak it. It automatically run in recovery mode and jailbreak your iphone.

yah happend to my iphone 2g and had my dad look at it cuz i t-mobile so no warrenty and what it was is that the he speaker microphone and homebutton flex cable came off. prob the same for you. but glad you got it fixed.

I bought mine last year in march, and last week my home button just stopped working for no reason! When I checked, I saw that I only had a couple of weeks left of the warranty (1 year), so thankfully it is now being replaced!

My Homw button is broken, it is down and won't spring up, it works only if i press it very hard, it happening when I was running with it in my pocket, I think the spring slipped... I opened it to see if I could put it back in place, but I didn't find anything... Here there isn't Apple Stores for me to take it, and the service is way too expensive... Bad luck of me....

I've had my iPod Touch for 16 days, and I remember one time when I turned it on, my screen was completely white. But it was solved by just locking it and turning it back on. If that doesn't work for you, you should try doing a restore. If that doesn't work, you're probably going to have to call AppleCare (1-800-APPLCARE) (1-800-277-52273), or go to an Apple Store if you have one near you.

mine started to get stucked on a song yesterday, and then more in another song, and then it turned off and i cant turn it back on (it had like more than the half of the battery power) hopefully they can give me a new one back because i think it is really weird

im having the same problem but ive had my iPod Touch over a year and the problem is that my home button is jammed and only way for me to fix it is to take it apart and push the button until it becomes unjammed

Hi, yeah i had the exact same problem, its doesnt work if you push it so it makes that clicky noise, but if you tap it, as you would the touch screen it works for me:) I would try get a replacement but, ive lost the warenty and i've also jalibroken it so... I doubt they would replace it :) Anyways i hope this help people who are in a similar situation to me. Oh, also if the light tap thing doesnt work, try pressing the very bottom of the screen just above the home button.
