@43Loretta i don't think that is a real product..my google search came up empty, not that i would buy one..i use a simply non-stick pan to roast chestnuts..score an "X" on the flat side and roast for 4 minutes per side
Is this Christopher Walken's long-lost son? I can't help but think that every time I see this commercial. If not, that's still a good I'm-the-long-lost-son-of-Walken imitation. :)
I didn't make the James Wood connection until somebody else pointed it out. If James Wood and Christopher Walken had a son, it would be Andrew Elvis Miller. It's uncanny.
That is a great commercial but I hate to burst your bubbles, but he is not doing an impression of Chris Walken... Trust me I know personally! Andrew is a great actor. It is so funny how everyone is convinced he's doin' Walken!
I also sensed a little Walken in a couple of the lines. I don't know if it was intentional or not but I think his monologue was delivered brilliantly and I did laugh out loud - In part because I know a couple folks with the same tendency to spend money on ridiculous items and take it so seriously. Well done.
At first I thought he was impersonating Walken. . . maybe Christopher's son? But, he really looks like James Woods. Really weird set and dialog for a car commercial. Way to go Acura, on capturing our attention.
Yes, I too saw this ad and immediately thought of Walken, and wondered if anyone else noticed it. The "fickle beast" line is the most clear Walken similarity, but to me, the "its italian" line, and the way he scrunches his nose at the same time, is such a subtle but spot-on Walkenism, that he must be trying to do it. Also, look up the Walken "gold watch" scene from Pulp Fiction. The way this guy holds the chestnut in his right hand, and the way Walken holds the watch are EXACTLY the same! Bravo!
Operasanger, how can you be sure it was intentional? I thought you may have inside info, but then you don't even know the actor's name. In any case, who knows, maybe you're right. The whisper, the pause, the subtle high pitch when he said, "... to tame her." Also look up clips of Walken in pulp fiction when he presents the watch to butch. He holds it like this guy is holding the chestnut with ring and pinky fingers sticking out. I just don't get it. Why? Does Walken move cars in the auto-world?
I can assure anyone that is curious that the resemblance to Christopher Walken was indeed intentional. It was intentional, hysterical and brilliant! Kudos to the fine actor who did it. It's the best, most understated, yet accurate imitation of Walken I've ever seen... Funny without being predictable and over-the-top. Subtle without being a caricature. Not easy to do. If anyone knows the name of the actor responsible for this fine performance, please post it. He deserves enormous credit. Bravo!!
LOL!! I looked up this commercial to see if anybody also thought he sounded like Walken. He had the whisper, "...it's italian." He had the pause, "The chest-nut...is a fickle beast." I'm not sure if it's intended, what's the point? I think it was unintentional. If he sounds like this naturally, then he would do a killer Walken if he worked on it.
Your comment is precisely why I looked up this commercial. Reminds me of Walken too. "The chestnut......she's a fickle beast", this is such a Walken statement and of course they look alike. Great commercial.
Thank god I'm not the only one: "You know, it's me? It's Mike. Tell me -- it's Mike. Tell me it's Mike..."
"It's Mike."
"Tell me it's Mike..."
"It's Mike."
"Mike. Mike who? Mike who? Hey! Mike who?"
"Mike who? I don't know."

You mean it's not Walken Jr.? If it was, that would've been cool. The commercial's still funny though.

interesting...

So damn funny. And if you don't think he's at least been HEAVILY influenced by Walken, then you're delusional.

Of course this is an official Christopher Waken impersonation. Why do you think the car in the commercial is called the CW Roadster?
Just kidding.....

Very entertaining. Good to see that we still get quality - even at 30 second intervals. Maybe this same crew should work on something longer?

Subtle....definitely, but I can't believe that in this world FULL of Walkenisms that anyone would even question if it's intentional or not.

Funny ad. Great Christopher Walken impersonation by the actor -- something that is not as easy to do as people think...
