Hi, i got severe ADHD and going on the Medicin "Ritalin" and "Concerta" i take a high dosage of them but some times its still not enough and i know about its not easy to not take more than u should. it's bulshit to abuse ritalin, it doesn't even make you feel good and it's hard to get addicted to, i know cuz i'v taken a bunch of it to see what hapens. nothing much. but i have a theory that if you eat alot of glucose the side effects will be lessened and maybe make it possible to actrually get high with it; because the side effects of ritalin are similar to the side effects of hypoglucimia. which is when you dont have enough glucose. and ritalin has an effect on glucose levels in the body.

i was prescribed 60mg of Vyvanse 3 months ago but it wasn't working out for me, i got horrible long-lasting side effects (couldn't sleep, horrible stomach pains, and became very agressive/emotional) i was just prescribed 10mg of Ritalin to take 3x a day and just took my first dose 2hrs ago, not sure it is doing much for me since i built up a tolerance from the Vyvanse... anyone have this issue? what should i do? what about adderall?
@BarbieBiitch420 i have no idea what vyvanse is but 10 mg is not alot and if you were on 60 mg of something else it may not be a high enough dosage. but usually its prescribed in lower dosages and then brought up depending on how you feel. you may have been prescribed too much vyvanse. also have a fucking nice day :)
I was prescribed Ritalin not that long ago - and I'm currently taking what some might consider a large dosage... around 200mg a day - in instant release pills over about 14 hours. Ritalin has given me my life back. I was in graduate school, and being relatively intelligent - I was able to make it right to the end - the dreaded final project / thesis. I had no ability to complete large tasks like this because it turns out I had ADHD-Inattentive Type impacting my drive. Ritalin is my savior~
I was put on it after flunking kindergarden. Even though I got glasses after kindergarden the size of coke bottles. Got off of it by arguing and plain not taking it anymore. lol addictive? i used to pop up to 75 mg of adderall XR, that's addicting! i was craving so i decided to start using something softer and more convenient. i started using concerta (methylphenidate but extended release), and i find it like a mild coke buzz, nothing comparable to adderall but a great buzz and MUCH more convenient nonetheless. no negative side effects except restlessness for me! and even then i can still sleep.

If precribing a minor RITALIN, the dose is to start at 5 mg. My son bryce vandergrift was being systematically removed from a treatment plan inclduing his medications that worked and kept him okay. I let him go live wtih his father & step mom 2007-2009 they took him 2 a new psychiatrist. They were dissolving my sons safety nets,safe guards, the screen door 2 his mind. you are beautiful. i used to take it for adhd and it works but you crash hard off of it when you stop abruptly, and i ruined a lot of good relationships because of the adhd and becoming paranoid. its great if you can keep in therapy and keep an eye on wheat you are doing. thats the key. drugs arent a magic wand. you have to want to become better. i am depressed right now from a break u p because of my shitt adhd. i say horribly angry things to people i love.

I'm 15 and I have ADD ADHD. I've been switched around a lot of medicines; Concerta, Vyvvanse, Aderrall XR, and Ritalin. And to me Ritalin makes me pretty euphoric but in control enough to get work done. Stay away from Vyvvanse unless you want o become a lifeless zombie!!

If I take the medicine as prescribed, it hits my high then slowly fades and when that happens I take more... I run out early and depression is real, when I'm high it doesn't seem like it'll be bad.. but it's hell and then I start searching for it again... horrible cycle of life.

I started methylphenidate when i was 13. by the time i was 15, i was completely obsessed with altering my perception through drugs, after stopping ritalin, which made me aggressive and offensive and no less impulsive than normal. I was on prozac, adderal, trazadone all at one time, using drugs to treat side effects at the recommendation of my bitch psychiatrist. The woman had me on 50 mg of amphetamine salts daily and had the nerve to tell me that my marijuana use was impairing my sleep cycle.

Took Ritalin last night in the absence of MDMA... I had it with lots of Alcohol and it had the desired effect of keeping me awake. Went to sleep this morning, but now woken up & getting strange episodes of time pausing into little blocks like slow motion almost, but juddery.

i took ritalin when i was little and had a grade average of higher B then i stopped taking it now my grade average is a E at best it rely works if you have the will power to control your self i am going back on it as i am falling my grade and am nearly a drop out

last year was the year of my vestibular (a test to try to enter in the university). It requires a lot of study, and without this is dificult obtain something here in Brazil.. So... I couldn't study, it was impossible, i used to pass all the day trying to study and it was very frustrating to me. So, as now we are with better economic conditions, i went to the doctor that pass me Ritalin. It chancged my life! without this it would me impossible obtain anything by studing.
when i was a child i had a lot of problems at school because i was hyperative. My family was a low-middle-class at that time and here in Brazil, this social class is part of the ones who don't have access to a good medical monitoring.And at my school nobody tells my parents that i was a bad student. The education here is very good, but only for the ones who study very hard (a behavior that is not asked to anyone in the schools)..to be continued.
when i was 10, i could not concentrate in class. I was bored. My mind wanted to always wander off and think of fun things. But i guess this was not "normal" and was some sort of illness that needed a drug called ritalin. I was put on this drug. It did not "cure" me. It only made life harder. i was prescribed 60mg of Vyvanse 3 months ago but it wasn't working out for me, i got horrible long-lasting side effects (couldn't sleep, horrible stomach pains, and became very agressive/emotional) i was just prescribed 10mg of Ritalin to take 3x a day and just took my first dose 2hrs ago, not sure it is doing much for me since i built up a tolerance from the Vyvanse... anyone have this issue? what should i do? what about adderall?

@BarbieBiitch420 i have no idea what vyvanse is but 10 mg is not alot and if you were on 60 mg of something else it may not be a high enough dosage. but usually its prescribed in lower dosages and then brought up depending on how you feel. you may have been prescribed too much vyvanse. also have a fucking nice day :)

I was prescribed Ritalin not that long ago - and I'm currently taking what some might consider a large dosage... around 200mg a day - in instant release pills over about 14 hours. Ritalin has given me my life back. I was in graduate school, and being relatively intelligent - I was able to make it right to the end - the dreaded final project / thesis. I had no ability to complete large tasks like this because it turns out I had ADHD-Inattentive Type impacting my drive. Ritalin is my savior~

I was put on it after flunking kindergarden. Even though I got glasses after kindergarden the size of coke bottles. Got off of it by arguing and plain not taking it anymore. A teacher who was smart enough to compare my work on and off said I did'nt need it and that I should refuse to take it. I'm 39 and if I get prescribed pain pills I dont fill them. lol addictive? i used to pop up to 75 mg of adderall XR, that's addicting! i was craving so i decided to start using something softer and more convenient. i started using concerta (methylphenidate but extended release), and i find it like a mild coke buzz, nothing comparable to adderall but a great buzz and MUCH more convenient nonetheless. no negative side effects except restlessness for me! and even then i can still sleep.

If precribing a minor RITALIN, the dose is to start at 5 mg. My son bryce vandergrift was being systematically removed from a treatment plan inclduing his medications that worked and kept him okay. I let him go live wtih his father & step mom 2007-2009 they took him 2 a new psychiatrist. They were dissolving my sons safety nets,safe guards, the screen door 2 his mind. The psychiatrist gave him RITALIN, the step mom was glad. His VITAL meds were being removed. He is in prison, he is not culpable

my girlfriend has been on ritalin for 3 yrs, she was diagnosed with severe ptsd which was bestowed upon her when she was raped she takes 4 pills a day and still goes to sleep at 10 pm.One of the traits of ptsd is add/adhd if she doesnt take her meds she really cant do much. you can stunt human growth and development, but it is biologically impossible for a grown man to lose 3 inches a year. A man might lose bone density, weight, etc. which is why many older people get (slighty) shorter... but you can never, ever, lose an inch every three years.

I'm 15 and I have ADD ADHD. I've been switched around a lot of medicines; Concerta, Vyvvanse, Aderrall XR, and Ritalin. And to me Ritalin makes me pretty euphoric but in control enough to get work done. Stay away from Vyvvanse unless you want o become a lifeless zombie!!

I have a friend whos life is completely destroyed to to Ritalin, Cozerta and other shit. I say forbid the crap!!!!! If people cant get throught school. To bad. But at least there lifes aint destroyed but fucking drugs!!!!!

the real stuff is proper education, healthy eating, support at home and school and more, take it from a person who knows, and by that i mean, i have ADHD and i dont take ritalin i have proper ed, i eat very healthy and all my teachers and my parents support me, thru the years i have become less and less hyperactive, just, i fyou do have ADD/ADHD just ry those rather than taking somthing that is simaler to cocaine in its properties

doy ou people knoww that ritalin is simaler to cocaine? that if you take to much at once it can kill you? that it gives you cardioviascular problems and it only lasts for about 4-6 hours, it is presribed for once a day.. there fore it only calms the ADD/ADHD mind for a couple hours... then they are hyperactive again, so there really is not point of it

I used to take Ritalin and every time I try to stop using it gives me headaches.
What you can do to focus on stop using it is:
1. get a hobby
2.learn to cook a pleasure food and continue to eat it every time you want some Ritalin.
3.get a girlfriend. ( gets you distracted from your headaches ) :D

If I take the medicine as prescribed, it hits my high then slowly fades and when that happens I take more... I run out early and depression is real, when I'm high it doesn't seem like it'll be bad.. but it's hell and then I start searching for it again... horrible cycle of life.

i already have had severe depression and anxiety before taking ritalin and prozac helped it. i now notice i have the symptoms of depression again with ritalin but the ritalin helps so much since now i am like the rest of my family in terms of academics and even better (they r ivy-leagers/ nobel prize winners. there r many terrible side affects of ritalin but th upside to it is too good

about getting addicted, from my personal experience its tottaly un true, but then again thats only from my experience.

yo short answer - you gotto change your diet, im not gna preach to you about being a vegan, you should know the consequences of not eating certain foods but im 17 and started ritalin like 2 months ago, and if i do not eat at least 2 peices of toast in the morning i feel sik. and as for the zombie thing, thats what happenes when u take rialin, life becomes a bit dull empty and boring. this is because the drug focuses your mind and blocks your imagination temporarily so you dont get distracted. ritalin was my gateway drug, prescribed to me for adhd. then adderal, which i became addicted to for about five years. prozac, trazodone, etc.- drugs for treating side effects from drugs. all prescribed to a 15 year old who didn't like school. several addictions and ODs later, i am no longer the creative, extroverted and energetic individual that i was at one time. i was really a pretty brilliant kid. now i can hardly relate to people. i cant find my own ass some days. don't abuse that crap.

I started methylphenidate when i was 13. by the time i was 15, i was completely obsessed with altering my perception through drugs, after stopping ritalin, which made me aggressive and offensive and no less impulsive than normal. I was on prozac, adderal, trazadone all at one time, using drugs to treat side effects at the recommendation of my bitch psychiatrist. The woman had me on 50 mg of amphetamine salts daily and had the nerve to tell me that my marijuana use was impairing my sleep cycle.

I can't believe I used to take this shit when I was a kid. I don't believe it helps with your memory like it says. Only concentration. It never made me feel high either. I remember the side effects were having absolutely no appetite, twitching, shaking, muscle tension, headaches. I remember when snorting and smoking cocaine, it was the same side effects, but WAY more intense. Horrible drug. Seeing things that aren't there, hearing voices, throwing up.

I think a lot of people hates Ritalin and think we are drugging our children's or whatever. I've DDA diagnosed +- one year ago, with 21 years. I've used Ritalin, stopped a time, return with LA, stopped again, and now i use in some cases. Ritalin effects help me to see the world has 2 faces and helped to me understand what is happening. I cant control some thinks like compulsivity, but i can say it have a very interesting usage on adults. For "natural" people: How to differ natural from chemical?

my son is 6 yrs old n he takes ritalin i dont think he needs it but the drs say he shud have it but i feel like the affets frm the drug r worse than we he wasnt taking them...hes very subconscience doesnt eat well and always zombified is this normal will he ever get better.....

I take ritalin and I've never abused it but I get depression roughly once every 2 days a really shit headache twice a week and I stopped taking it for 3 days and on the third day I was so angry, I was about to break this kids nose but a teacher came and I kept my self control. I haven't ever really properly stopped taking it but my life has been shit whilst taking it.

hi, I took Ritalin 12 years long! My live was at the begining good with it..than when I was 14 It was getting worse..my live was shit! Not ony because of ritalin..but ritalin made me to a person without personsality..it made me depressed.( today I feel it sometimes) I can`t sleep..I was quite in the time..shy that all made the ritalin..today I`m a openminde person..very friendly..active..no more quiet depressed shy I stopped it for 2 Years ago...

For my passive attention disorder I was just diagnosed, I am treated with meditation which is proved to cure this condition. Meditation not only it's natural but it stays in you opposed to all drugs that are effective when you take them but the moment you stop taking them you fall in bad withdraws that make you unstable and lead you to depression. Took Ritalin last night in the absence of MDMA... I had it with lots of Alcohol and it had the desired effect of keeping me awake. Went to sleep this morning, but now woken up & getting strange episodes of time pausing into little blocks like slow motion almost, but juddery.

how old are you? how old were you when you first started taking drugs? when was the last time you felt "normal" without them?
the best way to get off subs is tapering so your last dose is about 0.4mg a day for one week, then setting a stop date.

man you should try with something natural have you tryed with an herb tea make of camomile peel of orange and rosemary. That's quite relaxing and can help you.

i took ritalin when i was little and had a grade average of higher B then i stopped taking it now my grade average is a E at best it rely works if you have the will power to control your self i am going back on it as i am falling my grade and am nearly a drop out

if it was given to me before, all could be diferent to me. This is something that allow me to be like the others. I know it could be a little emotional or whatever, but is true, i don't know where i could be without this medicine.
The ones who say that this is not good, or get out the childhoof of the kids, don't know the problems that a hiperative child can have in the future.

last year was the year of my vestibular (a test to try to enter in the university). It requires a lot of study, and without this is dificult obtain something here in Brazil.. So... I couldn't study, it was impossible, i used to pass all the day trying to study and it was very frustrating to me. So, as now we are with better economic conditions, i went to the doctor that pass me Ritalin. It chancged my life! without this it would me impossible obtain anything by studing.

I'm 17 now and i start to use ritalin last year.
when i was a child i had a lot of problems at school because i was hyperative. My family was a low-middle-class at that time and here in Brazil, this social class is part of the ones who don't have access to a good medical monitoring.And at my school nobody tells my parents that i was a bad student. The education here is very good, but only for the ones who study very hard (a behavior that is not asked to anyone in the schools)..to be continued.

when i was 10, i could not concentrate in class. I was bored. My mind wanted to always wander off and think of fun things. But i guess this was not "normal" and was some sort of illness that needed a drug called ritalin. I was put on this drug. It did not "cure" me. It only made life harder. I was always shaking and feeling a rush while sitting. It was not fun.
