  • is it just me or does this song remind anyone else of pirates after all the scales and chromatics?? Just wondering.

  • i agree imterpretation here is really nice!

  • He is a good pianst♪I love his piano.

  • beautiful! thank you for uploading :)

  • I care about the mistakes!!! it wasn't very well!!! I am better xD. Just 14old

  • @aleksandardukic13 i played this when i was 9! but every one makes mistakes!!! how do you know that your better than him if you didn't hear him when he was relaxed with nobody watching? he might have been nervous on stage. not to be mean, but it is true.

  • @aleksandardukic13 he also played at the WINNERS' concert, so that means he is a PRO!!! so how can you be better than him!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Felicitaciones.

  • maybe.. he plays too fast^^ but it is really beautiful !! love it ;)

  • Far Easterns are far the best in classical music today. I was talking my Mom. He thought Far Eastern musicians are like very precize, but somewhat missing at soul. I said no, you're wrong!! They're very precize and and their attitude towards the music is very pure in soul. Asian classical musicians own today!!!

E in effetti usa troppo pedale.

  • Troppo pedale.

  • Forget comparing Zimmerman and Lim, it's absurd. They both have their own idea of how this piece should sound. No two pianists should sound alike, and if you're trying to imitate another pianist, you're doin it wrong.

  • @mvolkov11

"Tonal radiance?" It's a piano, tone has nothing to do with the player.

  • @jazzyjimg

You are thinking about a harpsichord.

  • @LavensKraw

No, I'm not thinking of a harpsichord. The piano's tone is purely due to the piano itself. The only control the player has over the tone is the velocity - how quickly the hammer strikes the strings.

  • @jazzyjimg

The pedal can also be used to affect tone. Raising the damper ever slightly can change the tone of a note as the other strings vibrate along with it. No?

So here we have two examples of how a player can affect tone, and yet you say tone has "nothing" to do with the player. "Little to do with the player" would be a more accurate assumption.

  • this guy has some skill... However... he rushes at some parts and the piece lacks a wide dynamic...

Zimermans interpretation is by far my favorite

  • he need more passion in the forte but also in the piano.

  • yes, he is not as good as Zimerman. But still fantastic !!

  • He is very, very good. Great expression.

  • Wonderful...At last an interpretation full of emotions....Personally,I also love Szokolay's interpretation, but I can't find it anywhere on youtube...As far as the mistakes are concerned, they were minor and it is unfair to condemn the whole effort just because of them. The point is...he gave us 5 minutes of sheer pleasure...

  • butiful! lovely! wonderful!!! and all the other good words i can think of!!!!!!!!

  • I don't care about the mistakes. I like his interpretation!

  • Yes it is unfortunate that some people only listen for mistakes and other things they do not like about the interpretation. Hard to enjoy it if you are attempting to critically analyze the piece.

  • aside from the 'small' mistakes, I really love his interpretation; I personally enjoyed it much more than Zimmerman's

  • For this particular piece, I think Peraiha has the edge over the others. Look it up o YouTube.

  • zimerman is much better ;) ^^

  • agreed, much better.

  • @princenosiatajansen although i think zimerman is much better i cant help but this guy thumbs up.

  • @princenosiatajansen although i think zimerman is much better i cant help but this guy thumbs up. Zimerman accentuates the left more, where this guy accentuates the left hand where it should be subtle.

  • Too much bad mistakes. I don´t like it.

  • im sure he was a bit nervous.

  • This is not good for Dong-Min's standards... not that i'm disappointed but it's unlike him

  • Although very good, Zimmerman is much better. The first section should be very gentle and smooth, Zimmerman achieves this better than i could even imagine possible. Check him out mann!

  • The best performance I will see in this song / La mejor interpretacion q vi en esta cancion

  • beautiful. one of the rare preformances which are not too fast. well done! *****

  • the piece has very distinctive contrast- the first section should sounds very delicate and light and it is the middle section thats got to be loud. the first sections seems to be very loud all the way through- it starts with p and goes up to f at the first repeat but I dont think he made enough contrast, and when the music goes to minor (before middle section) it's meant to be pp but sounds like f or ff. Also triplet in the middle seems way to fast and no rubato at all?

  • Wonderful performance, very inspiring. Nice video angles too!

  • first i was like ooo very exact and at the crescendo at the end i was like ooo cuz i play it but in the end my reaction ; The fuck too FAST!

  • this isn't too fast.. it's a wonderful speed. a lot of people even play it much faster. whatever floats your boat though, i suppose.

  • well..im a person that likesthe gracious slow type of songs but i like this song too i have to play it ;)...but really i think the fastness makes it too quick

  • you play this song beautifully!!

  • made mistakes but covered them smoothly...nice...

  • his sound is not refined enough, too exact. does not have much imagination.

  • very very great! i love this piece!... and I'm playing this song it's very amazing and he is a wonderful pianist!!:D

  • EXACTLY!

  • but uh mistakes?!

  • Since we are all human and make mistakes and this is a live performance one must be somewhat forgiving. If he had stopped playing when he made a mistake that is another matter. Yes, he made 2 mistakes but kept playing as if they did not occur which is correct. If you would like a perfect performance of this piece I would suggest Nikita Magaloff's performance-it is flawless!!

  • i love this piece!!!

    this is beyond beautiful :D

  • Wonderful playing!!

  • heh, cool phrasings. he seems really unconcerned and light about the piece

  • A very great performance of schuberts impromptu
