This is going to sound insane but I had a 2003 or 04 little lg c1300 and the default ringtone was called "lg tune" and I had that little phone forever and that silly polyphonic tune has stayed with me in my mind. That phone and I went through some really great times and I had that tone for only a few select calls so I could screne out the others. I have never been able to remember the melody and have been looking for it for years and that was it, I am so happy it brings back old memories
@boydkylej Wow me and you are similar. I have had great times tied to that ringtone and phone as well. I loved it and I wish I could find one to buy somewhere. If only I knew what the phone was called.
You could probably get that model on Ebay....I bought some old 1990's digital phones off Ebay a few years ago on the same network as I currently use. They still work fine.
I don't use a cell phone that often, and I am still using my Motorola flip phone I purchased around 2004. I dropped it this summer and cracked it, It had a fatal blue screen for about 30 seconds and then corrected itself and has been working fine since. A little plastic glue took care of the small crack. Verizon would like nothing better than for it to fail so they can sell me another phone and upgrade my service, but as long as it works that isn't going to happen.
Forgot to mention that mine was an LG 4011 from AT&T. It was a pretty good little phone. I got a lot of compliments on the old-time Western Electric-style ringtone. ;-)
I used to have an LG phone almost identical to that one. One of the ringtones was supposed to sound like an old fashioned phone, and it was quite convincing... it sounded very similar to my grandparents' 1960s-era rotary dial phone.
That seems to be a common problem with these folding style phones. I had a Motorola V90 and the display on that one also started to act up in the end, probably due to the flexy cable in the hinge getting worn out. My current Sony-Ericsson P910i has a flip-out keypad, and it's starting to do the same thing. Luckily it also has a touchscreen and on-screen keyboard, so I normally use that.
That sounds better than the ringtones in my Motorola V170, which has really cheesy MIDI samples and sounds really tinny. I'd actually like to get an older cell phone which uses a single tone beeper for the ringtone -- you never hear those anymore!
I remember the first time I heard a polyphonic cellphone ring! On our new phones the ring tones are all MP3 samples. I actually was able to connect the phones to the Slackware Linux computer and upload recordings I had made of records to them.
@flashback1341 No, the Twilight ringtone was pretty annoying, at least in my opinion lol.. this ringtone is from a song called "I Will Chase You" by Bayard Russell.
@flashback1341 yeah, Twilight had a sax.. its a pretty slow and calm tune.. i used to set it as my alarm, i guess that's why i grew to think of it as annoying haha. I still know the entire tune by heart. If i find it online i'll let you know.
I guess I got my first cell phone in about 2004. I started out as CellularOne, then Dobson Wireless and then AT&T. I really dislike AT&T because my original contract provided an internet connection. AT&T said they could not reinstate the Internet. My current plain offers much better airtime at a cheaper price than plans offered to date. I don't know what good it will do, but I filed a complaint with the BBB yesterday.
this was my first phone and i loved this ringtone :)

That melody sounds familiar, but couldn't make out what it is.

Try complaining to your local Commerce Commission. They over see telephone stuff.
