  • All animals are wild even dogs and cats. Dogs can be trained because their brain takes in knowledge from others that is why they can be trained so fast. Now cats are more stubborn they don't like to take in knowledge so that's why most cats are not trained. All animals brains work differently that's why we have exotic zoos so the common people can come in and see how they act, react, and adapt in there habitat. Now why isn't there dogs or cats in those zoos. Well because people don't want to go

  • Poor monkeys :(

  • hey,do u know how much they cost in osaka japan?

  • You sure that aint a japanese restaurant ? Any animal in a cage is tragic imo.

  • ok everyone is having a demostic about the keeping of marmosets, and in my opinion I do think that all wild animals should stay wild but think that if we didnt keep them and breed them then alot of these wild animals would be gone. i personaly have 6 marmosets living with me all bottle fed and brought up in my home every day I take them for an 3 hour run in the local woods and they really love it but once it is time to go i shout them n they come running. they are really happy mike

  • K fact about monkeys- when in a good home are just as happy as in the wild

-They must have a tone of attention, im no expert but i know in my heart that some monkeys have had great lives living with a human being

  • @8010cookie You said it yourself, you're no expert, so how your 'heart' feels has nothing to do with it. Wildlife experts would disagree with you.

  • @koalawrangler Ah really. You know i saw this vid, i saw how unhealthy these poor monkeys were... Im not trying to change anyone's mind, hell i agree with you to a great degree! All i wish to say is that monkeys are great in the wild... the best! But do i think Zoo's are better then a caring home for a couple of well nourished monkeys IDK

    im no expert! :)

  • @koalawrangler its cruel if i had the money and time i would buy them out of that cage

  • great viedo btw

  • far too many in one cage.. it might be ok if there was one or two that had been rescued and needed a loving home.. but they are there just to make money obviously! Its like the sad part in a film when the dad is taken away from his family and put in a cage... but then i guess you cant be shocked with the japanese, just be glad their not in a soup.

  • Primates of any kind should never be sold as a pet. I know they are adorable, but they are not a domesticated animal and putting them in a cage is so inhumane. This is just sad.

  • @Saranm25 But its ok to get them from breeders that have a HUGE cage, and care for them :)

  • this is just wrong.

  • If not for human owned pets many animals would be extinct....

The condor would not have survived without captive breeding by humans.

Don't be so foolish, many animals much enjoy their human companions and life style. They should have room to run during the day and constant attention, other than that.... they're happy to be our friends for life.

  • I can agree that certain primates, like chimpanzees, other apes, and medium and large monkey species should not be kept as pets, or should have limitations on who is in the ownership of them; however, small monkeys like these are much more manageable, and since you look like an intimidating individual to them, because of your size, I doubt they would have a serious temper tantrum.

  • They are only aggressive if they are not interacted with by humans. Also, since marmosets, unlike many other ape or monkey species kept as pets, are highly social. Sure chimpanzees live in groups, but chimpanzees in the wild are aggressive, in nature. These little guys can make good pets if they are interacted with properly- like ferrets.

  • @05TurboS2K The Condor was not kept as a pet, though. Captive breeding is fine by me as long as the goal is to increase the population for endangered species.

  • @Saranm25 And this was definitely not the goal here; they were being sold alongside very very young (too young) kittens and puppies.

  • @05TurboS2K Captive breeding by zoos and other animal experts not random fools off the street looking for an exotic pet.

  • hey hey you you i dont like your girlfriend lolo hahaha

  • uuu .. why do you say that no wild animal should be caged ? are you agains pet birds then ? and fishtanks ? .. thats wild animals .. and if you say no they are born in captivite. I say yes but those monkeys can also be born in captivite.. Im all agains animal cruelty but something is going to far.. poeple with the right training have the ability to take care of a monkey like that.

  • Definitely, somebody with the right training could take care of that monkey; with that said, do you think that the pet store owners match that criteria? Or how about your average pet store shopper? The people who know how to raise them are buying them from humane breeders, not pet stores, and there's a reason for that. That pacing monkey exhibited classic behavior of an animal with phsycological problems due to inadequate mental stimulation, and poor environment.

  • Ok, I love monkeys and I completely agree about the pet store stuff...

But seriously, I love how at the end of the video, Avril comes on... it just kinda ruined the sadness I was feeling and made me burst out in laughter.

  • they dont deserve to e in a pet store

  • I absolutely agree.

  • finally some one agrees because other people say that they have everything they need but thats not true

  • Of course not. No wild animal should be caged like that.

  • I have a question....... I allow my ferrets to roam free for 7-10 hours a day. Would allowing such a marmoset to have that free time make it a better companion? Again, these monkeys are highly social, and are not chimpanzees. Chimps are aggressive by nature, but these animals are small, and if you keep them stimulated, and let them out a lot, it may not be as bad as many people against the practice of this kind of pet ownership think.

  • As long as you get them from a responsible breeder and have a large cage setup, along with an ample amount of free space for them to roam, I don't see a problem with keeping them. The thing is, many pet shops sell these kinds of animals to people who don't know shit about them.

  • @TheREALSoffish Disagree, they are wild animals - not pets.

  • @koalawrangler They aren't wild animals if they were never in the wild........... Not domesticated, but at the same time, not wild.......... What do you think the living conditions for Guinea pigs and chinchillas were about 5000 years ago? And they were kept even crappier than these monkeys, as they were raised solely for food and fur purposes. Chinchillas are still be used for fur- nothing else.

  • @TheREALSoffish What, do you think the marmosets came out of a box? What are your credentials to justify your statement that "they were never in the wild". I saw these monkeys in the shop and they were flinging themselves around in the tiny cage -- demonstrating frustration at being in such a tiny contained space. They are meant to be swinging from tree to tree at will not stuck in a cage for human edification. That is really the issue here

  • @TheREALSoffish Domestic animal shelters are full of unwanted DOMESTICATED animals while humans seek the latest and greatest exotic pet. There are shelters for big cats in America because idiots realise they can no longer cope with having a wild cat at home. I work with koalas - are they gorgeous? Yes. But they belong in the wild as do all wild animals. How selfish. ThIs is why we have laws in Australia to prohibit people taking wild animals home on a whim without thought for the animal.

  • @koalawrangler So you're saying Chinchillas should be illegal? Or cockatiels, gerbils, or budgies or all of those animals that would allow kids to realize that pets are much better for their physical and mental well being? Big cats are animals that obviously cannot be tamed and neither can primates, but the exotic pets you speak of are more domesticated than you think. Rodents are great for kids because most idiotic parents teach their kids that rodents, especially rats, are unclean and dirty.

  • @koalawrangler Unless it is an outdoors 'pet store'. I wish I could lock the owner of this store in a 10X10 cage. I don't think they would like it very much, and neither do the monkeys!

  • very cute.. how much was the price tag?

  • There was no tag that I could see and I didn't ask. But kittens (very young and probably purebred) were going for up to 250,000 yen which is phenomenal.
