Asa young boy my parents had a John Broadwood upright at home. I never knew who bought it or where it came from, but I cut my musical teeth on it. When I emmigrated to Australia in 1983, my piano was developing cracks in the casing, and the strings were going rusty. The cost of repairs was more expensive than a new Piano so I traded it in for a mangnificent Kawai KS2F upritgh which I still play to this day. Am now considering selling it for another new Kawai. Its been a superb piano.
