  • Help please! Is there any way to move notes up or down within a notebook? I'm keeping evernote for my math work and I'm organizing it by chapters; such as 2.1, 2.3, 2.4 etc, but I'm having a problem. I moved ahead a chapter, then went back and made notes on the previous chapter and now I'm unable to move the new note up one. So now it looks like 2.2, 2.1, 2.2.

  • Great video and I am not complaining about his voice. Youtube is for everyone and everyone can upload great ideas and pass on great knowledge.

  • for fucks sake, Sake is pronounced saKEH not SAky.

  • Is it automat or cyborg speaking? whoever it is he/she does not know how to speak a presentation

  • @MrLiebor you are hearing the voice of the man behind evernote, Phil Libin. he made this vid at about 3 am as an after thought when he realized he didnt include a tut with the promo version, how perky are you @ 3 after creating a 100yr, billion person affecting idea?

  • @CampersInc Someone's been reading INC magazine : )

  • Why is Girl Tied Up a suggestion?

  • WTF is with these comments about its voice, its fine....when I looked up this video i was looking for info on evernote and thats just what i got. Great vid

  • good video. i saw a pc commercial with a guy in class and his computer was writing what his teacher said, basically taking notes word for word. does anybody know what that program is and is it available for mac

  • you just gave me an idea with those wine bottle labels, thanks!

  • Sound level too low, commentary 2x too fast, and wasn't that Sparky's Dad? I like Evernote though

  • nice

  • mmmmm milky

  • Wow, I want to marry Evernote!

  • useful app

  • I wish it was natively available for gnu/linux platform :) btw there is nevernote for us but i like evernote much :)

  • MS OneNote is much much much better!!!

  • That was very useful, although who ever it is who talks, talks VERY fast!

English is not my first language, and I had to brace myself to try to understand everything.

    Useful though.

  • Great video. I love Evernote.

    Thanks,

    Chris

  • I just started using Evernote, but is there no calendar function in here? Please tell me I can sync my MS outlook calendar with Evernote.

  • I am once an intensive user for Evernote for several months.

But one day when I tried to open notes in a separate window, and after several times, I corrupted the database and lost most of my notes.

I was very unfortunate and this happened in both 3.1 and 3.5 for me.

Just to let you people know this.

Hope the Evernote stuff will debug this and incorporate more backup safety measure for the application.

BTW I have quited using Evernote.

  • Seems a bit redundant to me...

  • Nice overview. Thanks.

  • Windows7FreeDL (.) TK is locked man! You need to pay for the sitw!

  • Evernote is awesome. I use it to: * send various thoughts throughout the day via Outlook or my mobile phone text message * store family photos as a virtual photo album * to do lists * spreadsheets * word documents * MP3 music * bookmarks, links * lists of EVERYTHING I need for any situation * organize research into folders * store all contact phone #, address, email * passwords * If I see a cool article on the web, I clip it straight to Evernote * access everything via mobile phone
  • But still y i would use it

  • no more random text files laying around. no more bookmarks that the page have disappeared etc. very useful

  • Looks like something we could all use!! BUT!!! Your articulation leaves a lot to be desired.......Had to my husband turn off the TV and I still strained to hear/understand it. One of the comments brings up an important question.....how does the site make money??? Are our email addresses made available to other people?

  • Nice , What Recorder You USed ?

  • - great video, great app, but you've just GOT to talk more slowly! I can understand everything you say, but it's definitely a strain - hopefully any future videos you'll be able ot shift down a gear in your commentary - thanks though, as I just got Evernote and love it!

  • That would definately give them a detailed profile about me.

So the big question is how they earn money from all the free accounts. Either there's alot of banners (which i don't see here) or they sell my information.

Yes - conspiracy theory at its best.

  • yes, thanks

  • A good quick overview of an amazing tool. I use Evernote daily and consider it an essential tool.

  • The audio volume is low, and this guy mumbles, so it's hard to understand what he says, which is too bad, because it looks like a really useful video. Get someone that we can understand.

  • Get some good headphones.

  • Comment removed

  • The OCR worked instantly for us -- wow. Can't wait to dive into this, could be just the research tool I'm looking for!

  • is there a way to find this guy and pummel him into the ground? maybe that will clear up that reassuring tone in his voice. almost as annoying as that Verizon guy.

  • I can't hear this video at all! It is very frustrating because I think this video would help me if I could understand it.

  • I will not believe the writing recognition. Their are OCR softwares out their specially built that can not perform that well. I am writing an OCR program right now, and free hand writing can not be regonized that easily, or in those obscure positions. People are complaining about it anyway, so its clear this video is over enhancing the capabilities. Ever note might be good, but theirs no way its that amazing.

P.S the side of the bottle text kinda gave it away lol.

  • It could just be referring to the alt code of the image, but I don't know

  • Actually It Does Work, Because I Use Evernote All The Time

  • Hi Phil, I have a question. How do you enable searching text in images? Mine doesn't work.

    Thanks

  • Mine doesn't work either and that's the only reason I installed the program in the first place.

  • It's always an excellent idea to increase input options to EverNote. (Or any application for that matter) This increases usability exponentially. In this same spirit, may I suggest that we collectively ask EverNote to consider the following: A plugin / option that will allow users to use an external editor to enter data into Evernote. I'm sure there are many coders, writers and bloggers who 'd love that feature:

  • is there a way to get a High Quality version of this?

  • volume seems pretty low....kinda hard to hear

  • Hi, i'm trying to determine how private are user's clips with evernote. ( a french user )

  • Yeah ..Where is the HQ or HD version !!

    Thanks

  • You should have done a HD version also, its all good talking about things on the screen if all we can really see is a blur.

  • I thought i was going nuts..i had a hard time hearing too.. looks pretty neat but it's all about the interface - so we'll see.. right now i'm happy with scrapbook which could easily keep implementing more stuff that evernote has over it

  • Being able to find text in images is well cool. Impressed.

  • I understood him perfectly. I just installed Evernote and registered, and I'm already loving the feature rich program.

  • What version is that? Mac or Windows?

  • This Mac OS X Leopard

  • The volumte is way too low on this. Please turn it up!!

  • St Peter's Pale Ale eh? I love that beer.

  • Volume way too low! Impossible to hear properly through Macbook's built-in speakers.

  • watch it twice if it's too fast!

  • volume too low

  • I like the project a lot and I didn't recognize the narrator as too fast although I'm from Germany. But yes, after mentioning it really sounds very fast. ^^

  • WOW- these comments aren't just being picky - the narration is rushed and unintelligible in the extreme.

to the NARRATOR: the voice is fine - just slow down the speech and don't mumble. there were many phrases that were rushed through so quickly as to be rendered incomprehensible. non-native english speakers aren't going to have a chance at understanding what this app can do. there's more than enough "dead air" in the video to say the text at a reasonable pace.

  • It's an American conspiracy to gain world domination via Evernote!

  • Mmmm, milky! Extreeemely useful!

  • Cool service, but please, replace the voice...

  • So the only time I can think of where this would help me is, I take a pic of someone I just met, and it tells me who they are and why I thought I might care. Which I don't think it could, unless I wrote that all down somewhere, which I could do on their card . . . so ok, that wouldn't have their pic; but if I were that organized, I could prolly work that out by taking their pic with my phone and numbering it or something . . .

  • It's not quite that bad.

  • The volume of the video is too low. Your voice is so annoying. Don't sound so condescending. Its only YouTube!

  • This will help me a great deal cause i have short term memory loss LOL so now i can remember all the important/interesting things that i want to well... remember. Great Application im looking forward to the iPhone/iPod touch application :)

  • when the person highlights the info and the pops it into evernote,,,,thats great,,but where is the button to pop it into,,,is this the ugraded service that you buy in order to get the button,,,please help me find the place to paste in the stuff i want to save,,thanks so much,,,rodney

  • please....slow...down...and...breathe more deeply....and use your diaphragm so that phrases are fully heard. I had to close the door, crank up my stereo speakers, and yet, some phrases at the end of sentences were still lost.

Interesting concept. I'm not sure if it would clutter my life up too much, though.

  • It's a very nice product, true, but it saddens me to see that interface-wise it's a carbon copy of Yep & Leap (both from Ironic Software). So much for originality.

It would have been nice if it was mentioned where Evernote got their inspiration from. The things some developers get away with these days.

  • Maybe they figured it out on their own. It's likely that they could have thought of the same interface, there's only so many ways to display information on a 2D screen.

  • Great product, you could try slowing down a bit during the talking though.

  • Make a linux version!

  • @TechnoHamster

    ...why?

  • zombie

  • Evernote is awesome...I have been using daily now since I first became a beta tester. I haven't experienced any difficulties as I have had with Windows Live Writer and the other similar tools.

I highly recommend it to everyone lost in their links and files.

  • Great demo video, and lovely to hear about the Evernote giveaway today. I just signed up for the beta!

  • Excellent excellent service! I've had it for about 24 hours and already found it very valuable. There aren't too many startups out there that are truly useful and will change that you do things. thanks!

  • Cool! I want it!

  • wohoo.. how cool it is. really I can't wait more for my beta invitation :) obviously that new evernote will be a "must have" application for all. it searches the text within pictures in lightning speed. tagging is another new cool feature. IMHO only bad thing about this product is limited language support for handwriting. I really would like to use this product in Turkish my native language.

  • Very cool demo. What program did you use to record this video on your mac?

  • I used ScreenFlow for everything, even the Windows parts (via VMWare). It's very nice.

  • great, thanks a lot. Just missed out on the techcrunch beta but I'll watch out for the site's progress.

  • cool
