There s a TopGear episode where they compare the merc c-klasse AMG, BMW M3 and the RS4. RS4 won. Mostly because its fenomenal handling, but even the acceleration wasnt the slowest despite of its 4wd! RS4 WON!

both cars are nice, but I prefer Audi, its a bit smaller I think than M5, Audi is modest and inconspicuous, it looks almost like standard A4, thats what I like! You can buy sport car for this money, but what I like the most, when car looks slower than you really think, driving RS4 you supriseing people! It works!

@bartekkaj The whole theory of what you're talking about, is called "Q" car. (Looks standard, but goes like stink) I think the Americans call them street sleepers. Mercedes actually sold more cars when they offered them for sale with no badges, as an option. There is a video on here of an MTM tuned RS4, (supercharged) when I watch it it makes me feel like a naughty child, its so damn nice!

m5 the v10 model i hope you are talking about. better handling 4wheel drive is no good unless ur on ice or snow. m5 is lighter faster more responsive handling.

i am an Audi fan, but i admit that the new M3 is one of the best cars ever made. It's faster and better than the RS4, no matter if on public roads or on track.

The new BMW 3series Coupe is the only BMW i would ever buy.

I am now waiting for Audi to show the RS5, before i make my choice to order either the M3 Coue or the RS5.

Still Audi is my no1, although BMW is "more premium". More up to date & slightly better when it comes to the technical stuff. have to admit that.

@abd1993450f; to expand on this, the issue is with displacement. The V8 in the B7 RS4 has a displacement of 4.2L, the V10 in the M5 is 5.0L. Some V10's can be much smaller and make much less power than the V8. Then when you factor things like multiple valves, forced induction, rev limits and other various technical specs, you get a clearer picture of the differences in horsepower.

By the by, I would much rather have an RS4 over an M5, M5's are nice but RS4's are way sexier.
