  • I remembered the song and commercial, but had no idea that it was a Kodak commercial. A friend recently showed me that youtube had it. I never thought that I would ever see or hear it again. It is wonderful to see it and be reminded of a simpler, more loving time. I hope to be able to pass this on.

  • @msslinky1000

I am glad you found it. It has always been one of my favorites.

  • turn around turn around turn around and you're a young man to big to choke-Homer Simpson

  • I remember hearing this song when I was a kid and I loved it! I fully plan on singing this to my daughter when I have kids someday

  • @pyromaniacdemon

Good for you, and they will remember it, too.

  • What a great song and an awesome video to your love ones, very touching!!!

  • I remember this song when I was little, I gave it to my daughter when she was born in 92, she is now 19 and going out the door, I still cry like a baby, when I hear it like I did when I sang it to her for the first time 19 years ago.

  • I used to sing this many years ago in a coffeehouse in Louisville. I love it.

  • beautiful song.

  • I used to sing this to my baby girls.

  • Like ripples on the pond, they're gone in a heartbeat.

  • Beautifully done.

  • This is on at least two Kingston Trio albums - Time to Think (as mentioned), and Two Classic Albums (from Collector's Choic Music) which includes Time to Think and New Frontier. I have the collection.

  • Only when your children leave home is the full impact of this song realized.

You not only feel their importance in your life, but you understand what your

parents felt. Enjoy your children to the max. 18 years pass in a heartbeat.

Life happens & we move on.

  • my daughter turns 30 tomorrow ..this touches my heart

  • My dad use to play this song to me when I was a little girl,it will always have a speacial place in my heart.

  • That is such a sweet, sweet, video. You must've gone thru a whole box of tissues making this. Thank you for sharing.

  • @rnr5682

Closer to a box and a half! Thanks for the comment.

This is the most beautiful, appropriate song for my kids, who were taken from me in a divorce. They are the one thing I think about on an hourly basis. I see them often, but it's not the same as being a full time Dad. Thank you for posting this. My heart is heavy, and I wish they were with me every minute. To those of you who take this for granted, try losing your kids for a week or two at a time. I'd rather go through hell.

  • @bnutzman My heart goes out to you. I had shared parenting after my divorce, yet they were kidnapped by the ex. I didn't see them for twelve years. State of Ohio will not enforce their orders or the law. The Law of Love prevails in my life.

  • Yes, I remember this with the Kodak commercial as well. Well done ceb. Great song. Great musicians.

  • @908shayes

Thank you...it always makes me shed a tear.

    C.

  • Do you know if this was on any of their albums? Can't find it

  • @BroHoe02

It is. Tomorrow I will hunt down the album...I hope.

    C.

  • @BroHoe02 It was on "Time To Think".

  • @BroHoe02: Don't know if anyone ever filled you in but this is on "Time to Think."

  • The most beautiful song that I hear so far.

  • I remember hearing a version of this song on a Kodak commercial in the early 1960's.

  • I love this song. I used to sing it to my daughter and now I sing it to my granddaughter. Where does the time go?

  • thanks so much for posting this song. one of the earliest songs i can remember my dad singing to me.thx very much.:-)

  • You are more than welcome, missjessica, thank you for the comment. C.

    Boo

  • Thank you, Bool I watched it again, too. Where did those babies go?? I am far from awesome, but I do have awesome children.. Kisses!!

  • I don't know you, but that was a beautiful song and montage. I'll use the song as a 'Father-Daughter' dance. Thank you! Cptt

  • Good choice, Cptt. If he is anything like me he will shed tears. Thank you for your comment; my best to you. C.

  • Was that haystack rock in the background?

Been along time for this one. Thanks

  • Yes, physchar, it is beloved Haystack. The glorious Oregon coast. That was back in the days when you could climb on Haystack and snag starfish. Ah, memories. C.

  • Just sang this to my daughter tonight--she turned two today. My mom used to sing it to me years ago.

  • Happy Birthday to your daughter. I have sung this to mine since they were born. Enjoy! Time goes by so quickly. The song is so true. Best to you. C.

  • Oh my god, I haven't heard this song in so long. My dad used to sing it to me when I was little. Thanks so much!

  • So glad you like it, I think it must be a favorite of dads and moms, everywhere, to sing to their kids. If they don't, they should. It is heartbreakingly true. Thanks.

  • Dear Claudia your video is excellent, and very moving, I love this song very much to, im adding this to my favs, thank you so much for sharing this with me, You have wonderful children,

  • Aha! You must have the 1963 "Time To Think" LP also, Claudia. Believe it or not, I have every single K-3 song ever released, and some not, while growing up in Coronado and being Nicky's cousin. But it's nice to see any Kingston Trio song uploaded by one and all. This is has always been one of my favorites. And you have some great progeny. (You've even somewhat inspired me to upload "London Bridge" and "The Thumb Song by Diane, age 5, which she learned in kindergarten in the near future.) John

  • I absolutely LOVE THIS!

    Thank you soo much Mommie

I hope this posts, not quite sure if I am doing it right.

We are who we are because of you!

    Boo

  • Thank you, Boo, and I love you.

  • Dear Claudia, you have wonderful daugthers. Sweet song for her.

    Bravo

  • Thank you, I think they are. So pleased you watched.
