OK I'm an American. Any idea how the Typhoon would do against recent Russian fighters such as Sukhoi 30? I truly don't know. Pretty sure the Sukhoi is more maneuverable but don't know how a real fight would play out, considering avionics, missiles, battlefield awareness, etc.

yer alot of aircraft have the 'voting' computer system wer by the computers have to agree on an input, and can also recognise a computer problem and vote to take that particular computer offline. But as we all know the computers in this aircraft have even more importance (over an airliner for eg.) as it would not fly without them. Very clever stuff indeed.
Maybe you dont understand, the Eurofighter is used by UK Spain Germany and Italy currently, it will soon be sold to Saudi Arabia, and Austria have recently recieved 2 i think, Greece is considering ordering the Typhoon, the only EF's built in the UK are the ones used by the RAF.
it's being sold to the saudi arabian and austrian airforces too.....not to mention the other 2 partner nations that helped develop it....spain and germany.
@TPS996 except f-15s. as proven at red flag in 09 when 2 squadrons of f-15's flew opposing 2 squadrons of typhoons and 1 squadron of f-16's simultaneously. all 3 opposing squads were spanish and the f-15s were israeli.

well after all this is a nice peace of machine, now that the us economy is gone very bad, the europeans are going to have a better chance of making extraordinary military hardware.
eurofighter has had many problems. to me and many nations is not a so reliable jet, but of course uk,spain, and all of the other nations who desing it toguether had to buy it. I think that if they desing another jet fighter again from scratch and learn of the problems they had with the euro fighter the next jet is going to come out a lot better.
Like all fighter jets developed it has had problems, its part of making jets like these, look at the F-22, saab gipen, sukhois etc, they all finnish way over budget and have developement problems, the EF if anything has been one of the most succesful jets of its type, dont believe all the bullshit that is said on the news.
