I would love to see a post about your home food favorites and staples! Things you always have in stock at your house that you either eat directly or make things with, bath products, vitamins, and special drinks. I love things like this.
Hey yeh we do but nothing on the size of wholefoods just little speciality stores. I have noticed thou at many supermarkets they are starting to sell more certified organic & free range/grass fed produce which is great. Wholefoods just looks incredible compared to the health food stores we have here in Australia! =)
@ashleysummars1988 Bummer. Hopefully you have some other health food stores. From what I've heard, Australia is supposed to *get* it in terms of healthy living... grassfed beef, raw dairy, etc. Do you find this is true?
That is overwhelmingly impressive...I'm an East Coast girl and would be content never going further west than Niagara Falls...but THAT looks well worth a trip!
I usually prefer the local gourmet and natural grocery stores to the big chains, but I can't deny that Whole Foods has a fabulous deli! If you live in the NW I would really recommend New Seasons or Market of Choice.
@LaureninPortland I know. I like supporting smaller businesses too but WF has done a lot in terms of bringing "healthy" foods to the masses. I live in the Midwest. We have Fruitful Yield which is an alternative to WF but super small. Trader Joe's is also excellent. If I visit the NW, I'll have to check those out.
@fluffywanderings So good to hear from you! How have you been? And Fia? You're in Hawaii, right? You have beautiful, luscious fruits at your fingertips all season long... LUCKY! But, I can see how the choices are limited being an island. I remember shopping at a health food store called Papayas (only in Hawaii :) and they had lots of raw, excellent foods but the seleciton was a bit spotty... and EXPENSIVE. BTW, how is chick pea miso?
@MamaNaturalBlog We are great! Been moving and really busy! I just uploaded an update for the first time in 10 months! YIKES! Hope to get back into youtubing! We are on Kauai where Papayas is!! LOL! They do have good foods, but man are they expensive!! Chick pea miso is quite tasty! We use it to make seaweed soup.
Whole Foods is a monthly vacation spot for us..lol. Luckily my husband works just down the road from WF in Houston & when we go to visit him its a "must" pitt-stop for us:)
@TheStyleChronicles I wish I was a Texas lady, especially during our winters :). LOL! I'm actually a midwest girl. We visited Austin for a friends wedding and I LOVE it there. So much natural living, nature, and great local food. I just don't know if I could handle the heat in the summers. I heard Houston is even hotter but I bet you are used to it, eh?
@crimsonkurls Aw, love your hometown! We want to move there one day but first have to visit in August to see if we could handle the heat :). WF is pricey... I shop very selectively there and supplement from my farmers market, TJ's, etc.
They have some awesome stuff. But I live in Australia and we have Ghee in pretty much all supermarkets. Just an interesting difference. I could spend a fortune here!
is it on 550 Bowie Street Austin, TX 78703-4644

I love whole foods market! I live about an hour away from one, in Pittsburgh Pa. It's very sad that I can't go there as often as I'd like.

@spottylill From what I've heard, Australia *gets* healthy eating more so than the US so makes sense you have ghee.
