First of all Great tut this helped out alot and im sure to subsribe. secondly can you make the stone part glass to give it a cooler effect? or does that not look as good?
@thegozer100 When you first place the water/lava you need something to block off flow sideways so it stays on the spiral path. Water/lava take the shortest possible distance to the next dropoff in height. After the water/lava flows all the way down you can remove the wall, but if u ever cause it to update the flow, like from picking up the water and putting it back down, or placing a block in it's path somewhere, the flow will update and not spiral down.
@somarate Before you put the lava/water source down you should dig a 1 block hole at the bottom step. If the water flows into it it will contain it and not overflow.
@Wilks228 also, why did you not just build the tower 1*1 block smaller? that wy surely you could have made it so that the lava and water would have touched the edges.
@Wilks228 Well, that would work to make the tower have a 5x5 base instead of 7x7 base. Though, you will lose the ability to walk up the stairs inside the tower. At one point my tower only had 1 spiral of stairs going down with water (so the roof was higher) and i used it as a river and rode down on a boat lol. Cutting down on the size will save alot of material and is a good suggestion .
@Mokomi1 Ok thanks, but its so hard to build it i tryed it to but i run out of stone and glass, and i do it on a big mountain, but i want to make the mountain bigger, so with that work do i fall! And than do i lose me stuff hehe, so i run fast out of building things. :P
Except I don't want to ruin the aesthetic features of beaches. And it's running out quick, I still need glass for my house. And my wood is running low... :P
@Mixedlumps When I was constructing buildings that needed glass, coal was my limiting reagent despite how much I mined. If you look at my video touring my base you'll see that I was a little too ambitious with the size of it. Between the towers and the floating glass contained river and future projects that weren't included in the video, I had to melt ALOT of sand and cobblestone lol.
If you have excess iron you can build a track going along the beaches of a nearby continent and use carts:)
as soon as i saw this without watching the tutorial just seeing what he built i was able to build it i dont know why every one is complaning :L

@Mixedlumps Nice, and yw.
Let me guess, you ran out of glass? Happened to me a lot while building my 4 towers.
Mokomi1 1 year ago
@Mokomi1 Yep, but I live on a sandy island..
Except I don't want to ruin the aesthetic features of beaches. And it's running out quick, I still need glass for my house. And my wood is running low... :P
Oh well, i gotta find a way around that.
