u make it look so easy, so i roll up my top and take off my leggings and try it on my own pole and end up with abruise the size of a mellon on my hip. lol. guna take me sooooo much longer to get to your strength lol. and ive been doing it 10 months lol x
I have started pole fitness about 3 months ago and I would love to know if you guys train outside of the studio to help build up strength and endurance? With any running, sports or strength workout routines? If so could you guys let me know? :)
love this video thank you..have just started pole fitness in Januray this year and its the best thing ive ever done! im slowly learning and building strength! could you tell me what the move is called at 1.08 in the video i love watching it think it is amazing!
Wow ladies you are both incredibly strong. Only started a few weeks ago and can feel strength building in my upper body but just wanted to know is there any advantage of having previous dance or gymnastic experience as a few of the ladies in my class had done ballet and jazz in there younger years and the suppleness of their hips seems to be allowing slight ease in a few of the bendy poses, or is it something that will increase over time?
@samracjan Thanks =D your strength and agility will increase over time, but it is absolutely an advantage to be trained in dance, gymnastics, acrobatics or another strength form. Before finding pole, I was self-trained in the art of sitting on the sofa, watching the TV and drinking tea and Guinness - I still do that, but a lot less than I used too. =P
@s11raven practice, its comes with balance, practice and strength =D get yourself a spotter if you dont go to lessons and repeat repeat repeat until you learn the balance. Looking up at your feet helps too.
@PipsicalPole I love the looking at feet recomend b/c Im learning this trick too-I think that it depends on how much time you put into it to determine how long it will take to be that good. I have a static pole at home :)
That's incredible! I'm trying to learn but I have zero upper body strength so I'm having a very hard time even climbing the pole.. and the bruises, oh the bruises!
i want to learn but i cant find anyone near me who teaches it. and your not large at all lol your normal size. can you do a spatchcock yet? that must be so hard,i dont see how you stay on the pole. if i can get to your level though id be a happy with that.
how long did it take you to get that good? im overweight and im guessin you have to be slim to learn pole dancing? its my dream to be able to do that but im so weak and have shakey hands, does that matter? i cant even hold myself off the floor for 1 second. your so lucky.
@Nina11100 thanks for posting Nina11100, everyone can learn pole fitness, doesnt matter if you are overweight, your strength will build. I am on the larger side (you can see this from my vids) but have lost weight and toned up with just pole fitness.
This was from last November and I had been learing for almost 3 years. Some people pick it up much faster and its hard work no matter what your size, but SO MUCH fun! =]
@PipsicalPole i want to learn but i cant find anyone near me that teaches it. so im a bit stuck. do you have to wear shorts? due to weight gain i have stretchmarks on my legs so id be embarassed lol. i dont think your large at all in that video your normal size. me on the other hand...im 14 stone 6lbs although im trying to lose weight. i actually tried to hold myself up on a kids play pole in a park while noone was there lol but i couldnt do it. im desperate for lessons.
@Nina11100 Bring stress balls everywhere with you and use them anytime you are bored or waiting in line ect. Grip strength is key in pole dancing, and once you have that you will be impressed with what you can do and how fast you will progress. Even if there is a little more of you to love.
Hi Pippa, This video is immense! You are a true inspiration. I'll be 34 soon, & have only really just started & wondered if I was too old to learn. You are so graceful! I'm training at the moment with a great bunch of girls, hoping to get a slot at Pole Unity next year. We are on week 3 of training together. Our instructor, Kat has a session with you in a few weeks to push her on with Handsprings, which seem to be defying her!
Where did you get your shorts from? Would love a pair.
what kind of pole is this in the video...because i see you have drop mount ceilings and I have been looking for a pole that is compatible with that type of ceiling
@Sezbobez its balance, and seems to take a lot of practice. I would suggest looking at your feet and moving your foot off just a small amount from the pole and try and hold and balance =] good luck!
@A9158162 we have both been poling - when this vid was taken, just 3 years. I only seem to get bruises now, when trying something new, or when I mess up a move I do know how to do. Your body should get used to the bruises =] x
Lovely vid, you made getting into Marley look a complete breeze......... I'm still perfecting that, mine looks no where near that easy to get into hahaha

@StilettosFitness we actually remove the ceiling tiles in this venue and put the pole on the solid ceiling above, so these are standard x-poles =]
