"My best friend was murdered by a government conspiracy to suppress public knowledge of America's cooperation with extraterrestrials and experimentation with alien technology—but to answer your question, I'm looking forward to the prom..."
I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan and it's very hard to choose one and the only favorite tv show but my favorites are: The X Files, Farscape, Babylon 5, RoboCop: The Series, The 4400, TekWar, Earth: Final Conflict, Torchwood, Lexx, Lois & Clark, Andromeda, Twilight Zone, SeaQuest, Total Recall 2070, Code Name: Eternity, Level 9, M.A.N.T.I.S., Jake 2.0, Firefly PLUS Fantasy/Sci-Fi - Xena, Buffy, Angel and Mortal Kombat Conquest
The original 'V' was a drawn-out, tedious retelling of the Nazi occupation in sci-fi terms with a reptilian Third Reich... defeated in the sequel during 'The Final Battle'....until Kenneth Johnson just had to rehash them again in the weekly TV series. That was cancelled due to low viewer ratings (in part)...but, it seems as though Johnson has to recycle his old ideas again in 'V', a new series on the ABC network. Sorry... seen it before... don't have any interest in seeing it again.
If you're gonna diss Kenneth Johnson then at least get your facts straight. Kenneth Johnson wrote & directed the 4-hour "V: The Original Miniseries" - a sequel "V: The Final Battle" was commissioned & Johnson wrote the first draft... then "creative differences" with the network lead to him leaving the project & it was butchered by new writers & execs to become the version that aired.
@nortofacto Not that it impacts life as we know it, but I just do not understand why NBC gave the 'green light' to this recent recreation....then, there's the other alien invasion series in competition on ABC..'The Event'.... to return, as I hear, this month (February 2011), after a hiatus of about two and a half months, my interest in that show is gone as well! One of my favorite alien invasion series was the original 'Invaders'...and 'The Outer Limits.'
@Titan52berg The new series, although it will never be the original is actually hotting up pretty well in it's second season. I seem to recall fans of the original BSG being upset by the remake, which, on treating as a separate show, I actually thought was quite good.
@Titan52berg Then the weekly series followed, which Johnson had absolutely nothing to do with (but was given a "created by" credit, as indeed, the franchise was) - the new re-imagined series has a "created by" credit for the same reason, but Johnson has had no input whatsoever. Kenneth Johnson has seen neither V:TFB, the weekly series or the reboot.
I remember watching a show when I was little in the early to mid 90's and I can't remember the name of it. One show was about a family that every time they lowered something into their water well treasure would come back up in the bucket or whatever was lowered into it would turn into treasure. Another was about a man trying to catch a fish and the fish cast out a apple on the bank and the fish drug him into the water. Any idea what show this was?
@tempest2002 that thing with the man on the beach was a film short with Ewan Mcgregor(Trainspotting Star Wars) it has been on tv a few times he wallks down a beach sees some food on the sand takes a bite and wham dirty great fish hook in the side of the mouth and then dragged into the sea
Hi, I'm chasing a movie I saw back in the mid 1990s, .Besides remembering it was a great UFO movie. I can only remember of a character; brown-blondish hair where once learning to communicate with the extraterrestrial beings, he helped them escape in a those American road vans. Oh he also had to shave his hair all off to make it look like he was an alien so he can draw some heat away from the real ones. He wore or they end up wearing silvery-type overalls type of thing. Cn anybody help me please?
