I think any classical music composer would feel honored to know that music generations later is still directly influenced by the beautiful experiences they created, I cant even call what they did "music" .. Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, brahms, and BACH.. it was beyond music. They created experiences that alter your basic perception of art.

I'm not an expert, but I do know he was pretty progressive for his time - As I understand it he helped bridge the gap between the Classical and Romantic periods, adding that fiery tenacity and pushing the limits. (Though I know such words are subjective, especially in regards to music). We had the same brains in his time, and although shaped by culture, I think one with a tendency for novel mindedness could appreciate this. Just an opinion though. :)
