@davidhaythornthwaite: While true, Yellowstone is just a little bit bigger size of ship :)) ~ as well as the fact that when it goes, it may also affect the Cascades, the New Madrid fault, San Andreas and possibly a few other faults and/or volcanos~ possibly causing some never before seen destruction in our country~ plus, most of the people that survived the sinking of the Titanic were the rich elite~ and everyone was traumatized by the event, even if they survived it personally.
And here we are in 2011 moron yet we're still alive . Seriously ? If it comes it comes if it doesnt it doesnt . LIve life until that day and even then pplwill still be around . It doesnt mean everyone's gonna instantly die . Last time checked it never said the world .
I dont trust politicians . Hell I think theyre a bunch of corrupt, lying pieces of shit . But do I think theyre out to kill us ? No . Lolol . They may be crooked but theyre still human . So I doubt what ur saying is true .
I'm suggesting that excess seismic energy can be sublimated into to other energy forms, or matter. In this case, the magma can be reduced to water, gases and soluble minerals, over a prolonged period without catastrophe. Yes, perhaps Yellowstone was a meteor impact site, but perhaps not. With the moon added to earths' orbit, the volcanic history has been scant. Is this correct ?
So, the reason why the Moon is 1/4 the size of the earth may have to do with absorbing excess electromagnetic energy from the earth. This is why the supervolcano may not erupt, as the moon pulls the magma chambers from both directions. We are basically dealing with the passage of enormous electrical currents through quartz crystals. The aliens who built and put the moon in orbit around earth knew precisely how to control earths' volcanic tantrums. So, Yellowstone may not erupt.
The Deccan traps and Siberian traps poured forth flood basalts for millions of yrs. Possibly caused by meteor impact az well. Volcanos are like electric blast furnaces that depend on the Suns electromagnetic energy. Realistically, the uranium deposits under Yellowstone may contribute some heat as well. But we forget that the Moon shares electromagnetic energy with the Earth and may prevent catastrophic supervolcanos.
@confettibrains Why was your interesting comment removed? You are telling me a scientist knows the origin of the moon? No scientist has concise proof the moon is anything other than an alien spacecraft 'built' to stabilize the electromagnetic build-up in earths' crystalline crust. Try the book :' Who Built the Moon', by Christopher Knight. Don't lamb-baste me about science, I just made a YouTube comment. Most scientists get ostracized for telling the truth.
@confettibrains Then you can upgrade to Paul LaViolettes' books (a physicist) who even sugests that Millisecond Pulsars are artificial beacons used to shield solar systems from galactic core outbursts via. converting deadly gamma radiation into synchrotron radiation, or something like that. And pulsars serve as intergalactic beacons for spacecraft navigating the galaxy. Ok, tell me a physicist is a whacko too, and your really an omnipotent fellow. Yikes...!
Yeah Nothing bad will ever happen. Mt St. Helens eruption would never happen.
Katrina won't be that bad. There are no tsunamis that can affect us in our lifetimes.
Hurricane Andrew can't be destructive with a name like Andrew. I smoked but I never inhaled. I never had sex with Monica Lewinski. The fundamentals of our economy are sound. Yellowstone may erupt but not for a million years.
Looks like a great track record. How about we just keep watching WWE while eating fast food. Yay! -
@hydropropop you sounds so sure about this! where is your science behind this? scientist have proof its going to happen, its only a matter of time, earthquakes and what ever other activity that may disturb this giants sleep. people are so blind to see whats really happening to life on earth, do some research instead of making speculative comments.
'' my speculation is... meteorites.... oh yeah! you heard me...''' (dramatic look at the camera) ...pfffff....ahahaha who is this joker seriously?.... the evidence is clear, and that will only be nature's work, we can't do anything about it. But why all the drama??? ahahahah who do you think you are? who do you think WE are??... thanks for the laughs dude! xD
Do you know FEMA has bought 120,000 instant meals...saying 170,000 people are going to be killed from Texas to Florida to Ohio and Illinois from an earthquake on the New Madrid Fault?
There have been massive predictions that the human life ends December 21, 2012. Yellowstone ha the pottential to fulfill those predictions. I gotta get off the contenant.
If it's a strong eruption on where on earth is safe.
nice report. Unfortunately we haven`t as much informations on our awakening Eifel supervolcano in Germany, which also must have once covered a huge area. I just tried to find some of the rare material , as I wanted originally make a video to warn on HEAVIEST earthquakes on FEB 15 ff. after a highest sun activity was measured yesterday - FEB 14- 2011 with more than 85 sun spots and a solar flux at 110.Its a complex thing and do not remember ever so many volcanoes so active as these years.
That was 2009 when this video was taken. It's 2011 2/6/11 and things appear to be getting worse. Yellowstone was said to have taken "a deep breath". Normally, that's a sign of an eruption about to happen. Just a few days ago there was a 2.7 and 3.4 earthquake within hours of each other at Yellowstone. Earthquakes are known to trigger volcanos. This could be serious!
I read your description comments. I just would like to know where you got your information about Bush ordering a gag order on all USGS employees? Unless
you are one, then you would have first hand information. Thx.
@smurfboywv There isn't any "real" proof that God ever existed either but a suprising number of people still believe in him. I think there is more tangible proof of our coming demise in 2012 or 13 than there is of an invisible man in the sky named God who is watching over all of us...

worldwide populations would drop by 50% or more due to starvation from the ash blotting out the sun and causing an ice age event. The areas with the worst food shortages tend to be the areas of highest population, (think Asia and Africa).
Largest Volcano in history? ...are you familiar with Flood Basalts, ie the Siberian Traps, which caused a mass extinction event 250ma that killed 95% of life on earth? Are you familiar with the La Garita caldera, which ejected 5000km3 of ash, or the Lake Toba caldera, which ejected 2800km3 only 74000ya? Both of which are larger amounts than any eruption ever produced by the Yellowstone hotspot. And did I hear you right...you claim that there was a meteor impact 500million years ago...where?

some other video i came across with proper scientists says that it erupts roughly once every 600000 years, and also stated the last eruption was 600000 years ago
Yellowstone is stinkin' awesome and the Tetons. Best summer job ever! I wish I could have stayed a little longer. There is nothing like living in the Yellowstone area for a couple months. Absolutely amazing place!
LMAO, he's definitely joking around or something. He doesn't sound serious. Dinosaurs died 65 million years ago, 500 million years ago was the middle of the Cambrian.
@tall32guy It's not a secret that YS sits on a super volcano, though this guy does sound mad scientisty haha. However, one day, that thing is going to blow, and it will be felt around the world.
@tall32guy Arent all people that preach the future concidered crazy? Yes. My guess is you'll be standing there going "NOWAY" and everyone else will be already gone. Goahead and move on in there they would love to have you. My opinion i think and fell something is coming but also i dont think any of us will escape it. If you think the end cant come in your lifetime. That just makes you plain dumb. Believe what you want i will believe what my gut feeling tell me. Have a nice life!
I live like 100 miles away from Yellowstone. Everyone here knows you can't worry about this... If it happens, then I guess it happens. It's not like we can stop it. And NO SHIT there are earthquakes! Good lord! ITS A VOLCANO. And don't you think if anyone was worried about it up here, we'd get our asses out? And yes, people ARE aware that it can blow up any day. But there's no reason moving away, this eruption will be so large, it can drop the temperature so low we could go into another ice age.
lol I love this, answers his own questions "Will they come again?"
"Oh yes, yes they will." lol Im keeping as updated as possible with you not much going on here but unreasonable weather patterns. Snow at christmas then no more till April
Wow...you do know that Yellowstone has had earthquakes way before people even knew about it.
What's the deal with the magnetic pole deal? Doesn't make any sense...
If the suns pole changed in 2001 and ours hasn't for thousands of years wouldn't something have happened already? It would be easier if I could show you rather than explaining it through text...
yellowstone is going to blow soon. i agree with you on that. i am watching the earthquakes and there have been a lot recently, but i think that we have at least a few more months. dont evacuate because of my prediction, i am not a real scientistand am probably totaly wrong, but keep watching.
I do know it will blow one day and the activity says it could be any day. But I'm sure glad January 1st 2009 they didn't evacuate like you said. There would be some pissed off people..
think it will only blow when the apocalypse will come... so as christian we wont be there to witness xD (is it written that the earth will be destroy with fire this time... certainly God will use yellowstone in the process...)
naah most wil survive, human population will of dropped, probs by over half by the time we start seing improvemnts, and that i think is a good thing. life has survive supervolcanos before, and there are others, i belive theres one in italy too, so thats me gone :D mah, itll be fine, if i die, i wont notice, if i dont, ..ill be happy. :)
@YellowstoneAlert its miner yees if that thing goes af or its getting ready to go af the earth quakes wil be mutch more severe then this this nis miner yees dont worry the only thing youl create is unnecessary panic check the site before you put this on
and you jump to conclusions to fast if a volcanologist says everything is okay and what the volcano is doing right now is normal meaby its smart to listen to them they work at yellowstone everyday you dont so dont creat panic over nothing ! bye yeeess
@88Meava88 I don't have a problem with your Dutch language, I just figured it out that's all. I'm not jumping to conclusions, I'm jumping to facts. Yellowstone is a Powder Keg ready to blow at any moment. We now absolutely nothing about a Super volcano! You, me, nor Scientist now nothing about this kind of thing. For that reason alone we should take it seriously and stop playing games. If I have cancer I want to know about it NOW. Don't tell me when I have only days or weeks to live.
no you are jumping to conclusions asked personly to the usgs i send a mail to them. and got something back to.
they sayd that what the volcano is doing is normal and its not about to blow. they do know sorry but its you that doenst know anything
if the volcano is about to blow like i sayd previously the quakes wil be more severe the ground wil lift like crasy i see neither he shup up about cancer !!!!
@88Meava88 The ground has risen 10 inches this year alone but I guess they didn't tell you about that, eh? Look, I'm ending this dialogue with you because you are taking this personal. Plus, I'm tired of trying to decipher your language. You have your opinions and I have mine. Good luck.
Because last year the swarm lasted about 7 days. Today makes the 17th day of this swarm with many hundreds more earthquakes than the swarm we saw last year.
Nobody is telling you to panic or run around screaming that the sky is falling. Just make sure you keep an eye on the situation is all they're saying.
problem is it might be related to the recent quakes in haiti and chilli, its unusual to get such a large, co-ordinated mass of earthqaukes in such a (relatvily) small area , so some fear at least one of them could of set the others off. i find this all very intresting :)
This won't happen so soon, like i said, it will probably take a long time for this to happen, so by then we will be long gone from this planet, or already extinct by other reasons.
At the time of our press release, 01.27.2010, the data for the 3.0 earthquake we just reported for 2010/01/27 19:52:16, has been tampered with, changed! For whatever reason, some one at the Control Center for the University of Utah Seismograph Stations has changed the data from 3.0 down to 2.9.
We can only assume this was done as not to alarm the public, or more so, to hide or mask any trends in quake strength from the general public. From here on out, we will make screen shots.
Get this straight. If THIS volcano erupts with only half the manitude some people think , all USA and sourroundin areas will be affected...as well as the entire planet. Kratatoa was much smaller and his eruption was heard world wide. Direct or Un directly, every living being in the planet will be affected.
Yes, you are correct. Some go as far as to forecast that billions will die from starvation. It's believed that crops world wide will fail for at least 3 growing seasons, which will lead to a world wide food shortage. Greenhouse gardening, game & fishing will be your best bet. But seeds will be at a premium, so those who do not already have seeds, may not be able to afford them. People will naturally raid others for food which will further add to the death toll.
EARTH QUAKES CONTINUE TO RATTLE YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK & REGION FOR THE EIGHTH DAY STRAIGHT!! No is your answer. You will have massive ash fallout and the sun most likely will be blocked out for months. No one anywhere in the world is safe as a global winter will ensue for years setting off a mini ice-age. Food world wide will be a massive problem. Those with long term food supplies and live/hide underground away from thieves will have the best chance at survival.
I realize this is a joke, but you could add to the realism a bit by tweaking your information. The obsidian in the area is VOLCANIC, not METEORIC. And if you look at a relief map of the western United States, the Snake River plain clearly delineates the historic boundary of the caldera. Which does NOT stretch all the way to Mt St Helen's in Oregon. The current boundary of the caldera is waaaaay smaller. Nice effort though.
ALERT 01-23.2010: Magnitude 3.6 - YELLOWSTONE PARK -

42 km (26 miles) E (84°) from Jackson, WY
44 km (28 miles) E (79°) from Rafter J Ranch, WY
335 km (208 miles) NNE (23°) from Salt Lake City, UT
This is now the most continuous and largest swarm of Earth quakes for Yellowstone ever recorded at over 1,400 quakes in just 7 days with at least 4 of the quakes rattling the Yellowstone park pretty good.
Is Texas safe? That depends on where you are at in Texas, and which way the prevailing winds are blowing at the time. Regardless, crops will fail for years to come world wide, and starvation will be the real killer as we will enter a mini-ice-age within months after the eruption. Thus no one in the world is safe unless you have stocked piled food for at least 3 years and a place to hide underground from those who will kill you for your food supplies.
@ sursidetrece, you better get up to speed on Yellowstone. Over a thousand earth quakes just the last six days since! Three of which rattled Yellowstone pretty good. read the video description for the current update.
This just in: A larger quake just hit Yellowstone!

Thanks for reading the sign at the start of the video. Some things need to be considered however on the creation of yellowstone. Consider that God created the world with water above and under the crust. "The fountains of the deep broke forth" in the Days of Noah" "Mountains rose and Valleys sank down" For half a century the waters disapated forming oceans, the crust colapsed down trapping pools of under ground streams and caverns some water and some lava.

Is this correct ?
seapeddler 9 months ago
So, the reason why the Moon is 1/4 the size of the earth may have to do with absorbing excess electromagnetic energy from the earth. This is why the supervolcano may not erupt, as the moon pulls the magma chambers from both directions. We are basically dealing with the passage of enormous electrical currents through quartz crystals. The aliens who built and put the moon in orbit around earth knew precisely how to control earths' volcanic tantrums. So, Yellowstone may not erupt.
seapeddler 9 months ago
The Deccan traps and Siberian traps poured forth flood basalts for millions of yrs. Possibly caused by meteor impact az well. Volcanos are like electric blast furnaces that depend on the Suns electromagnetic energy. Realistically, the uranium deposits under Yellowstone may contribute some heat as well. But we forget that the Moon shares electromagnetic energy with the Earth and may prevent catastrophic supervolcanos.
seapeddler 9 months ago

confettibrains 9 months ago
@confettibrains Why was your interesting comment removed? You are telling me a scientist knows the origin of the moon? No scientist has concise proof the moon is anything other than an alien spacecraft 'built' to stabilize the electromagnetic build-up in earths' crystalline crust. Try the book :' Who Built the Moon', by Christopher Knight. Don't lamb-baste me about science, I just made a YouTube comment. Most scientists get ostracized for telling the truth.
seapeddler 9 months ago

Yay! -

nice report. Unfortunately we haven`t as much informations on our awakening Eifel supervolcano in Germany, which also must have once covered a huge area. I just tried to find some of the rare material , as I wanted originally make a video to warn on HEAVIEST earthquakes on FEB 15 ff. after a highest sun activity was measured yesterday - FEB 14- 2011 with more than 85 sun spots and a solar flux at 110.Its a complex thing and do not remember ever so many volcanoes so active as these years.
lighttowers 1 year ago
That was 2009 when this video was taken. It's 2011 2/6/11 and things appear to be getting worse. Yellowstone was said to have taken "a deep breath". Normally, that's a sign of an eruption about to happen. Just a few days ago there was a 2.7 and 3.4 earthquake within hours of each other at Yellowstone. Earthquakes are known to trigger volcanos. This could be serious!

worldwide populations would drop by 50% or more due to starvation from the ash blotting out the sun and causing an ice age event. The areas with the worst food shortages tend to be the areas of highest population, (think Asia and Africa).

Because last year the swarm lasted about 7 days. Today makes the 17th day of this swarm with many hundreds more earthquakes than the swarm we saw last year.
Nobody is telling you to panic or run around screaming that the sky is falling. Just make sure you keep an eye on the situation is all they're saying.
Baronstone 2 years ago
@bweazel Maybe because theres been 500+ quakes in Yellowstone in the last month ?
DevinDominance 2 years ago
problem is it might be related to the recent quakes in haiti and chilli, its unusual to get such a large, co-ordinated mass of earthqaukes in such a (relatvily) small area , so some fear at least one of them could of set the others off. i find this all very intresting :)

@ PedroAfonso1967,
Yes, you are correct.

Nice effort though.

is texas safe someone plz answer men
apl99999 2 years ago
Is Texas safe? That depends on where you are at in Texas, and which way the prevailing winds are blowing at the time. Regardless, crops will fail for years to come world wide, and starvation will be the real killer as we will enter a mini-ice-age within months after the eruption. Thus no one in the world is safe unless you have stocked piled food for at least 3 years and a place to hide underground from those who will kill you for your food supplies.
You asked.
