man that groundbait.....nah only joking!! I know this was 2 years ago so dont know how your fishing now but you should not get into the habit of fishing feeder and pole at the same time it only takes the feeder to go....pole dropped and either broken or in the drink as that takes a hit too. Tight lines
@fenlandfisherman Yeah caught a couple earlier.....you seem to advanced a wee bit to say the least. Nice one on the videos your doing a cracking job. You should make a mini series for the complete novices to get them on the bank. Tight lines
that grounbait probably didnt break down on the bottom for around 3 days! mix in a round bowl as soon as you get bankside depending how you want it. leave for 20 mins or so to absorb all the water then add a little more if needed. leave for another 10 mins or so and riddle so all big lumps (if you do it right you shouldnt have any!) lumps are gone.
@carpmanson Please refer to a previouse comment i have made on the groundbait, as this was two years ago now and i can asuur you i dont make it like that anymore. and i did mix it in a round bowl.
Nice video! As regards your groundbait, its better to add more water when fishing in a river.By adding more water the particles in the mix will be much heavier enabling you to feed over a specific area and thus the heavier particles will descend to the bed of the river.By not adding enough water, once the groundbait ball hits the surface of the water it will break up quickly and form a cloudy effect which is desireable, but the particles will travel a mile down the river which is pointless to you
hey man nice fishin, im going to assume from your accent that your from somewhere in europe...im from the northern U.S. and we"ve been fishin through the ice up here catchin alot of northern pike, i think you guys call them jack though. its nice to watch a fishin video taken in open water compared to on the ice! cant wait for summer man!!! keep fishin!!!!!!!!
@Herbitual i believe that the proper english word for "farkin" is fuckin.......wow i guess you smart ass europeans dont know a hell of a lot afterall, i tried to make a nice comment and all i got was bullshit!!!! says alot about you and your country!
@Herbitual wow that was such a bad comeback i really dont know what to say.....im gonna go catch some real fish like northerns and walleye and ill leave you to go catch some of the those carbage suckers that you call carp
@MrQuaxex123 Look i want to clear this thing up about the groundbait once and for all, i was young and inexperienced and yes i apreciate the fact that yes the groundbait isnt perfect but at the end of the day it caught me a specimen crucian carp so does it really matter, as i dont make my groundbait like that now i can assure you.
sorry mate but the vid is wak. grondbait is crap. why are you using a pole aswell a feeder rod, u cant jus leave your pole sat in the water. gud idea putting casters n dead pinkies in ur ground bait. oh, nice crucian tho.
well depends really mate, errm small weedy waters are genraly good if you just want a tench and you dont mind about the size. i like to fish corn earlyer on in the season and maggot or caster latter on. If you want an early season tench try to fish a water to with a good bit of depth to it 8ft pluss is ideal. Fish on the marginal shelf and you should catch fish.
@jazzy1234561000 Ok and well depends really mate, errm small weedy waters are genraly good if you just want a tench and you dont mind about the size. i like to fish corn earlyer on in the season and maggot or caster latter on. If you want an early season tench try to fish a water to with a good bit of depth to it 8ft pluss is ideal. Fish on the marginal shelf and you should catch fish
A nother tip. try using a method feeder. specially for the fish you are trying to catch, but your groundbait must be more fluffy to use a method, nice vid ! :)
It didn’t, like an idiot I thought I would try to put the Tench in keep net by putting the landing net in the keep net and turning it upside down. However I didn’t do it properly and the fish slipped over the top of the keep net and into the water. And the reason why you could not see it, is because I video the fish after I had pulled in the keep net and as the Tench never made it to the keep net I was not able to photograph it.
@fenlandfisherman ahhh tench do like to get in the way same as bream lol try not to use many fishmeal baits as u will no tench and bream love them and always manage to get there before the carp. :D
ive caught carp to over 16lb, and plenty of 8lb bream on that groundbait. so you learn how to fish, every lake fishes differently, you just need to adapt to fishing it.
Yeah Thanks! I will admit that, that groundbait wasnt too good but my groundbait making skills has improved since then. And it was perfect for what I wanted on the day.
You're video is awesome! A piece of your fishing. I like those. If I will have a good camera, I'll do the same. PLs take a look at my compilation of fish i caught in the last year!
no, you are correct it was slightly oboevr and my scales cannot be wrong as i have teste them befor i go fishing and they are always dead on. The scales them selves cost me 30.00 so they cant be bad quality.
a quivertip and a bite alarm!!mmm unusual.you should also try to get your float shotted right down, then every bite will be seen.youre on the right track mate, keep the faith.
nice crucian mate but you need to refine your tackle a bit they are shy biters so a float with a thin brisltle dotted right down is essential you may have ben getting bites and them not registering on the float tip also crucians feed standing on their heads so fish a couple of inches overdepth with one of your dropper shot on the bottom at dead depth and this will help you see any tiny lifts or bobs strike at them they are usually proper bites
When I brought out this video I had only had my pole for about 2 or 3 weeks and this was one of the first times I had used it. This meant I didnt really have a clue on how to set it up, and as I had brought that rig I didnt really want to play around with the shotting patterns too much. However, I am now more experienced with the pole and will never leave as much bristle out of the water as I did on this video.
Nice little video kid & a crackin' crucian. Only thing I would say though is about your groundbait. It looks really stodgy, that's because you've added far to much water. Check out some of the videos on groudbaiting. TIGHT LINES ;)
yeah i know, it's realy hard to remember the numbers when your there on the bank! So i think i will stop doing that style of intro now thanks for the comment though!!
wow nice crucian u caught at 3:09 m8, pretty decent size for a crucian....they dont come much bigger than that where i fish unless ur going for commons or mirrors.
