The preview thumbnail for this video is hilarious! The contestant has her hands up to her face in a scream and the blonde has her arms going towards the contestant's neck.
I think one of the things that made this show great was the fact that the celebrities would get just as excited as the contestants when they won. A lot of them took this show very seriously and it was so fun to watch
i'm still confused on something. in a longer version of this clip, Dick says that she would win $151,400. But, on Wikipedia, it says she wins $150,800. which one is right?
@barber215 Neither is correct. She left there with closer to $100,000 because Uncle Sam got his cut, which was 30%, and he didn't even help with the clues! lol
There should be a new game show called, "What is dick clark saying" They could wheel him out and he can "talk" and whoever figures out the jumble that comes out of his mouth, wins the prize.
I remember this tournament... it ran on for so long, they probably were running out of subjects... the few times I've seen Things Used By The Pioneers, it was in the $150 or $200 box.
Me too !! It was a different time when people would celebrate with you and were excited to see you happy. Very few people were sitting back analyzing; you were allowed to have fun.
It's now at a time when it's more enjoyable to see someone in pain and the focus of gossip; THIS, today, makes people celebrate.
@cuzzinPhil I will always, always, ALWAYS love The $100,000 Pyramid... not just because of the high drama and tension, or the fast, frenetic game play, but because it also reminds me of how once upon a time, we were actually thrilled and happy to see people win and succeed. Fast forward about 25 years, and people now only seem to be happy when others fail and fall flat on their faces. My, how the world has changed since the days of The $100,000 Pyramid... Such a shame. :-(
Yes she is the biggest winner ever. She won $150,600. The next one was Marilyn Evans with $147,600. Are you going to be posted anymore winner circle big wins from the $25K and $100K Pyramid.
The longest $100K tourney by far was the one from April-May 1987. After 3 long weeks (one with Ilene Graff & Terry Lester, another with Millicent Martin & Robert Hegyes, and one more with Linda Kelsey & henry Polic II), they finally had a $100K winner.

Love Pyramid:) It's one of the few games where you see emotions at their most genuine and the gameplay as its finest and most intense

Occasionally during these tourneys, you could tell by the board that it was time for someone to win. :) Or at least have a really good chance at it.

Things That The Pioneers Used is a pretty weak $300 clue for the $100k tourney.

Damn straight. She was REALLY good at guessing because some of those clues were not that great at all.

I used to like hoe the entire audience would come up on stage and celebrate with the winner. Classic stuff.
