WOW! REALLY IMPRESSIVE! Learning to do exactly that. GoIn to use our country background. Just watchin your vid makes me wish I was already were you are. Great work! IMPRESSIVE!
This is awesome, also I would like to suggest those who are critical of certain aspects to please provide links to their work. ....didn't think so, now hush.
me: hello mom just heading out. mom: for what dear. me: to go kill 5 people that hate a video on youtube that i like. mom: whats it called? me: kelso train animation one of the best train animations ive ever seen. mom: but whos gunna help you? me: 112 people who like the video. mom: have fun be back before 9,o'clock.!! >=]
NICE VIDEO ..I am also learning Maya..Good CAmera work..How you created sorrounding in vast area....any looping >>.But hidden excellant....claimasjo@gmail.com
Angles needed to be lower in parts to demonstrate the power of the train ... all in all ncie modeling, 'OK@ render but good camera work. The intro was too much anticipation for the final result though. Could have done with sound effects aswell ... infact it really needs sound effects, as they make any animation better.
The realism and level of details is breathtaking! It's just weird to see a steam whistle on a diesel engine but the rest is just awesome! I recommend people to have a look at the hi-res video...
WOW!, that was so sick!! modeling my first car on maya, which jus makes me apreciate that so so much, bet that took weeks to render lol. How long did all the modeling/animation well evrything take?
is diz no cuts? a continue keyframing?? untill end time? also the camera?

It is really creating that feeling, like a desert - big, the railroad goes far. Very good music and all.

Very nice animation. Nice camera work and lighting. Love the heat wobble effect as you cross engine.
No Driver?
The little bridge it crosses at the end is the same bridge from 1:25 copy/pasted.
Seems to be an obvious line on the horizon where the moutains start.
Environment could use more variation as it moves on. To give the impression the train is getting somewhere.
The train dosnt feel that fast because the camera is always keeping up with it. Maybe have some stationary camera.

are you suggesting that there's a steam whistle on a diesel with that little plume coming out behind the cab? Cool video, otherwise.

what are those fans on top of the roof for? Real 44c9s don't have fans aft of the cab. There are no fans on these locomotives.
