Oh god, it is like a brown acid flash-forward nightmare trip. I'm sure if the young Kantner had had that trip he would've jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge. Still one can't really blame the old Kantner for getting his Ya-Ya's out. Youth wasted on the young? I don't think so. Hahaha
The JA were known to allus be refining their sound - hell for a musician is to have to play the same thing the same way all the time. No risk taking = no improvements...note how even 'Somebody to Love' morphed with time to stay timeless...
it's hard to explain why i like tuna so much. I think i like them so much because they evolve their sound so much, not even necessarily due to age or the passing of time....i have heard all their albums and a plethora of live recordings and i get something different from each one even though there is many songs repeated...the various versions are all memorable for me.
-i still can appreciate the song even if it's not the original lineup (Grace needs a break sometimes). I'm just wondering which year this songcame out...
Don't get me wrong, Diane has a great voice and I know her. We ar efrom upstate NY but she has to tone it down onstage between songs. She acts too crazy, she doesn't have to. Just be classy. Prarie should still with the Tubes. His drum beats are to rock, I want a psychedelic drummer and a Gibson ES335 playing guitar player not heavy metal Slick.
i love them...almost cried to see them live playing airplane stuff and some blows against the empire stuff. What i love so much about the airplane is that they have a crazy earthy/organic build to their music unlike most anything.
This is the music that we need to get us through these next trying days that lie ahead. Seriously folks. Music is key.

Jack is not a member of the actual Jefferson Starship. He's touring with Jorma (Hot Tuna)

You are correct - Fred wrote this and some
other great tunes ("Dolphins", "Bleecker and
McDougal", "Everybody's Talkin")
The Lovin' Spoonful did this song
as well, on their album "Hums"...
Kantner is a huge Neil fan...

yes, quite rightly, although Jorma
did play the ES-345, not 335,
if you want to nitpick :>)

I agree, Spencer was quite unique. Jorma made
his ES-335 ( and later 345 and 355) sound
like no one else. I loved his "french horn"
parts in the last section of Crown of Creation,
behind the vocals :>)

Awesome!! Seeing this amazing performed live is wondeful!
Great musicianship and Paul's right there!

nothing like the originals, Slick and Prairie don't fit the band and Diana is annoying
Billykid514 5 years ago
if you haven't seen them live.....do it...if you respect the airplane...you'll appreciate it. Slick is a phenomenal guitarist.
