By the way, I also have two beautiful grandchildren in Japan as well, with a third one due this coming June. They're from my second marriage. Thanks to Skype I manage to see and talk with them quite regularly.

Thank you Lilly. I believe there is a purpose to everything. We had two wonderful children who are both still happily married with two wonderful children each. You see them at the end of the video.

Yes that handsome young fellow was me : ) The baby is my 41 year old son. Time flies! I enjoy watching videos where people show their country from their perspective. I'm glad that people enjoy watching videos of my country. Australia is more than just the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and the Outback. That's what most people see and think of Australia. By the way, your English is fine, and I always understand what you have to say. Thank you, my friend, for your comments.

WOW Ferdy...A classic! I really like the last verse alot. Great beat and I hear some Richard Starky in there(I've always Loved His Voice!) Love the intro too, being a ballad guy:)

Thanks Michael! Yes, the last verse was intended to finish the rather sad song on a positive note. I must admit I've always wanted to sound like Paul or John, but there you are lol. Couldn't bring myself to leave out that intro. Classiest bit of music I've written so far : )

Thanks Bryan! If it sounds Beatlesque that's pure coincidence. I just wanted to try my hand (voice) at some three part harmony. Btw the day after posting this I remixed the vocal harmonies. They sound much better now. Too late to re-post the video though : (

Quite enjoyed this :) The melody is catchy and although it's not the kind of music I listen to I can appreciate a well put together piece of music :)

I like the way you told a continueing story as the song went on, I have tried to do this a few time before and I just can't do it even though I am fairly proficient at writing short stories and music! :P

Sorry for the delay in my reply, but have been out of the country for a couple of weeks. Thank you for your comments. In the past I've never really been one for writing the ballad type song but have found in recent years that it's the easiest form to write in. Particularly if you write from personal experience. One line just follows the next. Just tell the story. Keep trying... you can do it : ) Btw your music's great!

Great composition Ferdy. Like the lyrics and wonder if it's all personal experience for you? I do believe everything has a 'shelf life' and when it's over it's over. Having had one broken marriage behind me I also believe that what will be will be. If you are meant to be with someone then you will. Sometimes it's only in a limited capacity but that doesn't diminish it in any way. Life can get in the way but as they say "that's life"
