the ironic thing is my 2 favorite mobile suits get the shortest screen time...Alex and Kampher are my most favorite mobile suit in all of the Gundam universe...though I still have a soft spot for the Leo, Gouf and Epyon lol
yes you guys are right i know alot about mobile suits. kampfer was a hit and run assualt mobile suit kampfers weapons were highly deadly and far more advanced then that of alex gundam it carried 2 x 360 raketeen bazookas 2x strum fausts and jager shotguns alex kampfer could have won by saving ammo or attacked it when alex was on it's knees.
0080 War in the Pocket is a great but tragic OVA series but I don't know what it is, every single mobile suit seems like it's made of paper, I know this series was going for realism over flare but damn, so fragile. Were the majority of Zeon's amphibious suit's using armor piercing rounds? those rounds shredded right through that luna titanium as if it was made out of cardboard.
@999966699 those are not armor piercing bullets that the amphibious z'gok were using, its actually beam cannon or something... it situated on the palm of its hands or claw.. but some z'gok were mounted with a mechinegun and rockets on its hand..

I know everyone likes 0080 but that girl as to be the worst Gundam pilot of all Gundam series. she suck in the simulated, got lucky with the kampher and got her ass beat by a Zaku II Kai.
Man, 0080 is the last of the original series I have left to watch. Even so, the final battle between a zaku and the gundam is pretty awe-inspiring. Sieg Zeon!!!

the thing that you gotta remember is that the head functional primarily as a camera and other sensory unit. In fact, there other examples of where a MS "head" was blown off, but the MS continued functioning because the body remained intact and the body has hidden cameras all over it to compensate for the head camera. The Alex probably wasn't rebuilt because the OYW was ending anyway

You Know ur Actually right yet at the same time Flawed.
Kampfer would sacrifice its operating time and Armor Material rate for speed and weapons and more accesibly articulated mobility.
Although the reason for Kampfer's Demise was actually "Mischa's" hesitation, as the Alex was just about to rise he shouldn't have just gasped in awe
he should have just charged instatly w/ its beam saber then he would have done the job.
The Armor inefficiency is only a disadvantage.
