  • i saw this musical on broadway before i saw the movie, but personally, this version gets to me more

  • Just cannot understand why 22 people don't like this beautiful scene and music...

  • @marauderheart das hast du mir mal gezeigt, oder? ich kann mich ga nich mehr daran erinnern, dass ich das wunderschön fand :O

  • The only good thing about the movie version IS Patrick Wilson...he's soo good!!

  • This Movie is brilliant ! I really like Phantom of the Opera and this Version . Its better than the German Version ;)

  • what the hell who is the voice singing inside !!! All i know is not him.. damn not original .

  • that chandelier added at the last part was like the crash of the chandelier on the stage show and i liked it, well done, but that chandelier was supposed to crash after the phantom says go right ^_^

  • Every emmy rossum patrick wilson gerrad buttler fan obiusly doesnt know what real music is

  • sorry but thats just a mess

  • good

  • normal i don't like movie remakes/adaptations but the cast really changed my mind. i was watching a bunch of interviews on snapsnap and everyone was just enthusiastic.

  • great job!

  • Expetacular !! So beautifull ...That´s LIFE !!

  • Lovely video........thank you for sharing Maria........ Terry

  • WOw! only those who are really music minded people can relate this performance! superb!.....

  • Barton's and Brightman's voices are good, And Crawford's voice doesn't fit to Butler's Phantom.Where is insult, jealousy in the Phantom's voice? It seems like vainglorious Narcissus sings. I think Butler, Rossum and Wilson sang more naturally, more pathetically.

  • Thank you for doing this!! While the movie is visually lovely- the music decision they went with is just AWFUL

  • Steven Barton!!!!! Whatta voice! Even though he's no longer among us, his amazing repertoire and recordings are a gift to the world of musicaltheatre and such.

  • very good job im sure that did take a while to do but amazing work and i like it better this way too :)

  • The best part of movie...really love it but just wondering aren't they feel cold? LOL

  • Christine look's like Snow white

  • thanks for sharing! I like it!!

  • nice one..

  • I personally think gerrad butler brought a new type of phantom to the table, his vocals have more passion behind them and a bit of grit too! Spaaaaaaaartaaaa!

  • So beautiful!

  • I alway cry on this film. I love this.

    Emmy Rosum & Gerard Butler. ^ ^

  • personally i like emmy and patriks voices better but sarah and steves r really good too.

  • I was blown away

  • But where is the resentment and jealousy in his voice? Where emotions? The Voice of Jerry conveys these feelings. And by the way, is he in the end fell from the roof? lol

  • This Phantom-voice is... bad...

  • Butler was a better phantom

  • @BigWyatt01 You don't have ears.

  • My fav song!!!

  • Come now, do you really think Emmy was that bad?

  • @Viendork no, Emmy's great.

  • they should have synch all the movie, with all respect, emmy was awfull :(

  • @MoNyOh i agree. as much as i liked the movie i just couldn't like her. not just her singing but she just seems to keep toying with the phantom's emotions. this wasn't the script but the way she always had that shit eating grin when the phantom was on screen. Sarah Brightman will always be Christine. i would have loved to see her in the movie, she would be pushing 50 when it was filmed but ..... did you see her in REPO!? she looked so young. i would have loved to see michael crawford as phantom.

  • @ethannintendonerd ^^ I saw her live in concert and at in-store signing session, lol, she's amazing and she looks so pretty and young in person!!

  • @ethannintendonerd quit your bitching and lisen to the original one then and youl be happy and no 1 will put up with your shit

  • This is amazing! Serious props to you.

  • JUST LOVE THE END BIT only if Antonio Banderas played the phantom that will be cool

  • JUST LOVE THE END BIT

  • I like Gerard Butler, he's more dramatic. and Emmy Rossum makes a more subtle change in pitch from the deeps of Eric to the highs of Christine. I'm sorry but i feel they play the parts the best, no offence to Michal Crawford though, he's not bad he's just not the best.

  • i like Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum better, Crawford wasn't the best in my oppinion. I didn't like Patric Wilson though....

  • who are they?

  • lol i thought something was up. initially i thought when patrick wilson was singing, there was just some base adjustment or something but then i heard sarah brightman. O.O

  • ugh, i hate patrick wilson's hair in this movie...he looks so cute with short hair :[

  • @misterfreehugs are you a boy or a girl, cus ur name says boy and ur comment says girl..

  • the movie was cast more for the acting than the voices. i love the voices of these three stars.

  • Awesome! <3

  • It is so beatiful. Thank you fore sharing.

  • good job! This must have been very hard :)

  • LOVE what you did here...makes the scene sound much more richer...I LOVE IT!

  • wunderschön <3 <3 <3

  • i do prefer sarah brightman, but patrick wilson is amazing.

  • great job!!!! :) i looove this song.. <3

  • Eh, it was neat. But really awkward hearing big stage voices in a movie scene.

  • Epic Scene, the phantom screaming "YOU WILL CURSE THE DAY YOU DID NOT DO"

  • 3:40 i lol'd

  • I am looking for this video and the voices in it... the thing you did with the sound ....mmm...why? well. Thanks any way...

  • Not to affened anyone but I like the newer cast it may be because that is the one I heard first but I don't know the video was good though in quality I liked it

  • personally i like raoul's voice from the movie better than the synched voice, but other than that this was cool!

  • Patrick wishes that was his voice.

  • Emmy was good, shame you couldn't mix her audio with Steve Barton

    Patrick Wilson was fail

  • aww i love it when they kiss

  • Comment removed

  • aww i love it when they kiss

  • they make such a cute couple people need to get over it. I mean you dont have to watch it if you dont want to, if you dont like phantom of the opera then why in the first place did u watch this???????? i mean they are in love the joy of love

  • FINALLY. I've been looking for a video that switched the audio with the original cast. Thank you!!

  • I think I've said this many times before...but I love you for resynching the whole movie. I would always try to either listen to my iPod while watching the movie (with the Original London Cast), or try to think of Michael and Sarah in my head, but that didn't work. T_T

After listening to the original soundtrack since I was 5, it's hard to see a movie completely different sounding. But the musical I saw was phenomenal. :]

  • i really love this song. so beautiful and romantic :)

  • nice

  • PS. Thank you for the 're-sych'

  • This latest movie version is a major disappointment. Raoul and the Phantom sounded horrible. Especially Raoul, as a suitor his voice doesnt sound like one. The Phantom, he better off stay in hiding, because he cant be taken seriously. HA!

This was written as a stage play and film/movie can never replace it.

  • Awesomes.

  • He wasn't dead when this was casted and in the movie the Phantom DOES NOT say Christine at this part.

  • Thats NOT you. Can't fool me that's the original stars Sarah Brightman Steve Barton and Michal Crawford

  • You're right it's not me. I never said it was.

  • Yes, you are right!!! For one, Michael's voice is so distinctive.

  • @jillywilson I like the the original stars better

  • @alexhannah88 who are they?

  • @nekidspaceman The actors are Emmy Roseum and PAtrick Wilson but the singers are Sarah Brightman and Steve Barton, they were the original cast when this FIRST STARTED ON STAGE. Webber acutally wrote this special for Sarah and he wasn't going to do it without her.

  • @nekidspaceman Emmy Rossum & Patrick Wilson

  • @alexhannah88

the voiceover singers are the original stars numbnuts.

  • i totally agree with you, but imagine sarah brightman and michael crawford in this scene... i don't think it'd be good either...

  • @diana72563 I agree!

  • @jillywilson yeah. i like the newer stars better.

  • @jillywilson I think he was saying by me meaning that he spliced the soundtrack from the original from the scene from the movie.

  • you sound better then her too

  • You sound beautiful! Not as soft and innocent asEmmy's voice, but I acutal like you better! Do you give singing lessons by anytime?

  • magnificent...

i have always wanted to go and watch this on stage..

    i love it..

if everyone in the world had to sit and listen to this-the worrld would be magical.xx

  • Just love this version. It was nice to hear other voices, they way this is edited is wonderful. The phantom says "Christine, Christine, when Gerald Butler doesn't so this must be a recording from a different performance. I LOVED how the ending was edited in. It was nicely done. I wish I could have edited this! WOW

  • this is from the original London cast LP etc. with:

    Michael Crawford-The Phantom

    Sarah Brightman-Christine

    Steve Barton (RIP)-Raoul

  • STEVE BARTON IS DEAD!?! ='(

  • No, Gerard says "Christine, Christine". I just checked.

  • @meginmd I thought that Raoul says "Christine, Christine" and the Erik says "Christiiine..."

  • You are completely right.

  • I typed it wrong. I meant to say "Gerard does say Christine".

You're right, Raoul does say Christine twice and Gerard once.

  • Raoul sounds much more manly. X)

Christine sounds older, not the 16 year old she should be.

    I prefer their original voices.

  • she's supposed to be 18-20...

  • Close enough. =P

  • original as in 1986 or movie? Sarah Brightman was 26 at the time so that might explain it

    RIP Steve Barton =(

  • Haha, this IS their original voices. Well, at least it's Christine's and Raoul's original voices.

  • Steve Barton = ♥

I love Steve over Patrick, but I'm going to have to say Michael and Gerard are equal in my book. Even though Gerard's voice can be darker that Mr. Crawford's.

Sarah and Emmy are both very different, Sarah's voice being more confident and strong, Emmy's being soft, sweet, and child-like..? The two are both really good.

Thank you for your syncing skills..

  • What is the beggining of the song called?

  • It's on the OCR cd as 'Why Have You Brought Me Here/Raoul, I've Been There', this starts somewhere in the second half of that piece.

  • poor phantom... =(

  • This excellent! You timing is spot on and the lip movements are all synchronised beautifully! Yes I like Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman's voices.

  • ugh, Sarah Brightman...

  • I agree with you, I SO MUCH prefer that chipmunk...what's her name? Emmy Possum? Yeah, her. She hits the notes with SO MUCH more skill, power and ease!

  • I agree. Not only that, but Emmy's voice is so much more pleasant - that's what happens when you don't sing through your nose.

    I'm glad we agree =)

  • Oh, yes, that Sarah who, she sings through her nose! It's absolutely not her natural tone, at all, as evident in all her other works.

And not to mention the cadenza; Emmy did a MUCH MORE higher, elaborate and skilled cadenza! Sarah did that pathetic one which barely had any agility, I bet she's studio-edited. The live Broadway shows are a terrible lie.

  • And you know at the ending part of "The Phantom of the Opera"? That bombardment of high notes? Ugh, Sarah's version with vibrato was horrible. Emmy's vibrato-less and full-of-reverb version was so awesome. Even the high note was SO MUCH more impressive, damnit!

I love finding people I agree with.

  • I could care less about someone's supposed "skill" and "power" if listening to them suddenly makes me wish I was deaf.

  • So you could care less about Emmy Possum's supposed "skill" and "power"? We don't agree so much after all. :((

  • Okay, my sarcasm radar only goes so far. I don't even know what's going on anymore.

  • Oh, no, it's alright.

Viva la Emmy with her incredible high notes and impeccable skills and power.

  • Ha, I'm guessing that's sarcasm. But I enjoy Emmy's voice. And other people enjoy Sarah. So it doesn't really matter. What would music be if everyone were the same?

  • It would be rather boring, yes, but I do not quite like to see comments that are negative towards Sarah, an artist which I adore.

You are, of course, free to express them.

But I am equally free to challenge them.

Let's end this here; It's getting very tiring.

  • Oh, it's very tiring...not to sound petulant, but you kind of started it. All I said was "ugh, Sarah Brightman." But sure, consider it ended.

  • Consider it my fault then.

  • I would like to add to this discussion that the reason I felt the need to edit all these was that the new version didn't stick to the tune adequately, thereby ruining the melody and my enjoyment. When Emmy spits the word 'hate!' in the catacomb, that word is better than Sarah's whole performance. However, Emmy is NOT Christine Daae. Sarah is, and NO ONE is going to be better than Michael Crawford, ever.

  • Personally, I really like it (not sarcastic, I swear) when Emmy says "he kills without a thought"...that was just awesome. Apart from that though... :/

  • That bit, along with the three part harmonies in the lair at the end, is my favourite part. Although Emmy emotes that bit well, it's sung with a very relaxed timing, as is most of the movie. Seeing as they are not filming the live performance the actors need to lipsync to prerecorded performances which don't adhere to the timing of the original, seems to have been a poor choice as the breathing is out of place and jarring from the emotion.

  • Indeed, glad to see we agree alot ;)

    Not sarcastically, that is :P

  • ...nádhera....

  • i like MC's laugh- BEST LAUGH EVER!!!

  • Thanks for the post.

  • omg the OLC version of this song is the best! although the movie version was quite good, i thought PW's voice was a tad too high for the character, he sounds 5 years younger than intended IMHO

  • and MC's AIAOY (reprise) is 100 *million* times better than GB's! for one thing he holds the final "you" for more than twice the time GB does! c'mon, even *i* can hold it for longer than him (GB, i have tried time and time again to match MC's hold time but i end up taking a leaf out of carlotta's book and "croaking" at about 3 secs b4 MC's hold ends!) grrr... :-@

i'll nail it someday...i hope xD)

  • What's happened to their voices?

Still it sounds pretty good(damn good quality)

  • This is the original Musical version.

  • lol, i thought the voices were different... :]

  • Steve Barton! Oh, I didn't know you'd done this one. Beautiful. Although I'm going to be nasty for a minute and say that PW's face still bugs me. I've come to the conclusion it's the haircut. I think he's pretty hot with short hair.

But not as good-looking as Steve Barton was. Again, wonderful job with the editing. I'm very impressed.

  • not the original voices. the orig. is much more beautiful BELIEVE me!

  • "Original"?

This is as original as you could get.

  • nice

next time, sarah brightman + patrick wilson please! :PP

  • Beautiful, beautiful. Well done - thanks for posting.

  • This is beautiful

  • THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!

I want to dance to this at my wedding!!!!

  • hmmm, i uploaded the entire movie just yesterday, please watch them, rate them, they're in high quality,is this same movie by Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum, hope you like it guys, and thanks...

  • Oh....what a touching song....so romantic & sweet. Her voice is great!

  • she is amazing!!!!! i love it so much!!!!

  • You should have done this with the whole movie!

  • Wow, really fantastic job with the lyp syncing, it's pretty perfect! I was watching for a while and I hadn't read the comments but I was thinking, Hey, they sound different. Guess that's why. Great job!

  • I can't believe she's going to play Bulma...

Son Goku: Why have you brought me here?

Bulma: We can't go back there... If he has to kill a thousand men, the Prince of the Saiyans will kill, and kill again!

Goku: There is no Prince of the Saiyans!

    >___>

Vegeta: Bulma, love me, that's all I ask of you!

  • This video is really very well done. The audio is synched perfectly to the video. Well done! I prefer the original Broadway cast because their performances possess a timeless quality; during the time period the musical is set in, classical music was the "pop" music of the day. The movie version is like an audio anachronism. And, by the way, why does everyone think Christine is supposed to be 16? In the novel she was in her early 20s, so she would have a more mature voice like Sarah Brightman's.

  • Raoul isn't supposed to be a perfect singer, especially when compared to the Phantom

  • I think you are confusing "perfect" with "mature-sounding". The Phantom is supposed to be a good 10-15 years older than Christine and Raoul, so the voices should sound like it (i.e. Raoul should have a slightly higher voice than the Phantom) although IMHO they took that a *bit* too far with the difference between PW and GB, SB and MC sound much more appropriate in comparison

  • one of the most beautiful musical duets :) its absolutely lovely

  • Oh wow, this is so beautiful and absolutely brilliant! Wonderful job! 5 Stars!!! <3

  • Concertchoir6

I agree I like Michael Crawford's version than gerard Butler's version of all I ask Of You reprise.

  • Concertchoir6

    I agree! I LOVED IT 100%

  • @Halo2Alexis ya i agree with you but im really looking for the WHOLE song arent you??

  • I know alot about the phantom of the opera.. Pesonally i think that the movie portion is very well done... but it sounds weird to me.. but thats my personal opinnion.

  • butler kicks butt both as Leonidas and Phantom...the best actor in this entire movie

  • i mean of course micheal is better!!!! he was an orignal!!!!

but Gerard did pretty well... compared to micheal tho not very good... but i didnt think gerard could sing...

plus i think Gerard Butler happens to be hot... lol

  • Yeah Gerry says in an interview that he's never had a single singing lesson

  • I agree!...Michael rules and is"MUCH" better then Butler and Michaels voice is much stronger 'AliLovesSomeone". Try actually listening to Michaels different videos and CDs or go see him live before you judge! You've got a right to your opinion but if you are not going to actually listen to Michael first or you just don't like him why did you watch this video!!!

  • Steve Barton (R.I.P.) was the greatest Raoul ever and this video is outstanding imo. Thanks! :)

  • Why do you have sarah brightman on hear? Emmy was so much better.

  • on hear? Because Steve is so much better than Patrick, and Michael is So much better that Gerard. Kind of difficult to separate them when they sing in different keys. Like someone other than Ruthie Henshall singing 'I dreamed a dream'. No real point. Not even close.

  • why the need to redub these?

  • Because I didn't like the audio from the film, I liked the original cast recording of the stageplay. Plus I wanted to practice video editing.

  • i like Gerard's voice better in this. It's more powerful.

  • I agree with Colinmcphan, Mr. Crawford is AMAZING! But I love/worship (lol) Mr. Butler and Mr. Crawford the same. They're both amazing actors and great singers. Ms. Brightman and Ms Rossum are less greater

  • Please never mix Michael and Butlers voices together. It would ruin MCs beautiful emotion and heartbreaking sound. I've seen the film and Michael live on stage and it was Mikes outstanding acting and singing that made me fall in love with Phantom. I wanted to run off with his Erik. Thanks again for a great job on the video. Your AWESOME!

  • Michaels voice is waaay better then Butlers. Michael sings with more power, anger and emotion. I like how MC starts out devastated and sounding really hurt after seeing Christine and Raoul together. If you were the Phantom that would hurt you! Then the Phantom explodes with anger and emotion! I actually enjoy Sarah and Emma and I heard a video of Michael and Emmy together that was great. I also like Steves and Patricks singing equally well. Great job on the video and Michael ROCKS!!!

  • NO WAY BUTLER IS SO MUSH BETER THEN MICHAEL! i <3 butler and partric willsoun was the best roul!

  • Yeah that was the sarah brightman/ michael crawfor version on top.

I recognized it when I heard the Phantom start singing.

  • nice voice, but i have one criticism, the baritone voice doesnt look right on patrick wilson

  • now before i got into Phantom was during high school i watched a pay per view concert of sarah, so yeah i bought the gerard butler cd version and i'm like what is this, then i bought OLC it was way better

  • Sarah Brightman!! I LOVED her! She has the perfect voice ^.^

  • I thought that was Emmy Rossum... I could be wrong, but I'm almost positive. Sarah Brightman is in the actual Broadway Version, atleast, that's what I heard.

  • The actress is, but they put over the voice soo that itd be Brightman's voice
