EasyCap (6-12$) - If you want to record short pointless videos get the EasyCap.

Dazzle (50-80$) - If you want to record good gameplay, longer videos, and really good quality get the Dazzle. (With the Dazzle's best settings, it almost looks like a Happague HD PVR.)

Happague HD PVR (I think 150-250$) - If you really want to be taken seriously on YouTube and you have the money, get the Happague HD PVR.

@HaloFreak0444 I have an HD dazzle and it looks nothing like an HD PVR. You can read words and smaller ones aswell without struggle. The dazzle is only better for live steaming.

@HaloFreak0444 I actually think the AverMedia Game Capture HD is a much better buy than the PVR with extremely similar quality (maybe even better), relatively small AVI files, and the fact that you dont have to hook it u to a computer while recording. It makes things so much simpler but it is a shame you cannot live stream. Don't get me wrong I agree with what your saying but the AverMedia is freaking awesome!

The default format the PVR saves in for xbox is MP4, which is also accepted by youtube.

He may have rendered his video, but to get this quality rendering is not needed.

Question: I just purchased this same card, however, in order to have the gameplay occur on my TV and my Computer in real time, I have to set the back wire to "TV" instead of "HDTV", resulting in only being able to capture in 480p.

Okay, so most of the time, when I click the 720p option on HD PVR tests (particularly Halo 3 ones), the picture quality itself it amazing but the frame-rate goes to hell. Is that just my computer, or does youtube do that sometimes? (To clarify, I'm on new 15" MacBook Pro, so speed isn't usually a problem)

Got this thing a little bit ago and found out it wasn't compatible with my laptop simply because my video card doesn't have 256MB of standalone RAM, ugh I was pissed. I'm working on getting a decent PC to run this software on but everyone who's looking at getting one make sure you read the system prerequisites, it might save you some frustration, lol. Anyway, it's a great piece of equipment, but a little expensive.

Are you on a standard def tv? Are you using the recording program that came with the pvr, if so i'd suggest getting pinnical studio 12 or sony vegas (be careful with "free" ones you get from downloads) ..hope i helped.

@ Brute55Valentine: Yes it is. The quality can be 100% better than in this video. It just depends on how you render it using your editing software. It is not the card. I capture MW2 at 59.98 Frames per second, and I render my videos at the same using Sony Vegas.(Going from Xbox/PS3 59.98FPS to a NTSC 29.98 FPS causes the lag you see.)
