As a Fourth Degree Knight from NH, I am stunned to see that any intelligent person would deem this statue to be "illegal". As I understand, it was a memorial to WW II veterans, the majority of whom were of one Christian denomination or another. In no way does it teach any one specific religion, so therefore it establishes nothing at all.

Honor the veterans and honor God! Keep the statue! The constitution has nothing to say about a religious monument. Only if America was a communist country, the statue of America would have to be removed. But the US Supreme Court in 1892 decided that America is a Christian nation. This nation would not survive apart from God. The statue would be a nice goal for hikers.

@1911HeadBanger I beg your pardon. This has not been up since World War ll. It was installed in 1953 because the KofC knew they could get away with it. And it is in no way, a war memorial. As stated on the KofC renewal permit, it is a devotional shrine. It has to come down and be put on church property so people can better have access to it. Peace and good will come your way.
